As for the polylingual thing, that was a pure assumption.

Considering Wammy Children handle detective cases around the world, they'd need some sort of knowledge or translator to work with various police departments.

Also, Mello, Matt, and Near all lived in England for the majority of their lives, so they'd HAVE to know English, right? Yet once they go to Japan, BOOM, speaking Japanese, considering Near was what, 16 when he went to Japan? I just figured he memorized several languages in order to work all across the world.

Hello to both of ya sorry for not responding earlier, I sense some time difference XD

I was thinking of getting deeper into Near's character as well, he is just so quiet and blank it makes you wonder what exactly he is thinking in the inside of his head, doesn't it? I also always wondered how Mello ended up with the mafia, and 4 years is a long time we can come up with anything. We could always do a casual roleplay and write more so each can add to the characters. But Sloth if you want to focus on Near then go ahead, I see a great interest in the character by you anyway xD I'd like to focus on Near or Mello... and maybe add another character from the Wammy's House that gets closer to Near every now and then just to help with the expansion of his character. Unfortunately I have not read the BB story I've heard lots about it, seen fanart, but never actually read it. I know he looks like an insane, bloody L haha. If you guys can tell me when it takes place and if it is during the 4 year gap time, we could add him as well. But the story is focused on Near, Mello and Matt and what they were up to during these 4 years. If they kept any contact at all, if Near had to stay in the orphanage longer or was moved somewhere else, etcetc. I read the info about Slow and his story takes place after Light's death, right? So it doesn't really follow the time line

Yes, Slow was post Kira, however, I could rewrite him to be in the timeframe we're talking, mayhaps as Near's Matt or something, though, if you'd not mind, I'll stick with Near.

Oh how I wish it wasn't taking place in the cannon universe, Near's going to have far too much work to do, what with meeting the President and what not.

Beyond Birthday's story occurred... well, the anime and manga have different times, but it occurred before Light's turning. And a prisoner who "resembled B" was one of those who died in the mass-prison-killings Kira conducted, so he's a no-go.

I'll gladly be a child who, irked by Near's being chosen rather than himself, deserts the orphanage. He then, hrm... Well, he could start a P.I. business, obviously he wouldn't go in the field himself, but he could become obsessed with Kira. Kind of like... like.... her name escapes me... the one chick. The Second Kira. Anyways, he could become obsessed with Kira, but not in a good way, and his organization could be the precursor to the SPK.

Maybe a slight time difference. XD
