    Operation: Dragonskin (Science Fiction)

    You are dead.

When you were alive, you were a soldier. You fought well and valiantly for your life, for your country, for the survival of your very species in a war against an enemy from beyond the stars. But in the end, when you died, there was nothing left of the body. An empty casket was buried. You had gone to a better place. That was what the government wanted your loved ones to believe.

    It was a lie.

A secret government organization known only as EXTRA has taken what's left of your remains... And they've grown you a new body. One that looks exactly like the monsters you died fighting. They want you to infiltrate their ranks, to gather as much information about the enemy as possible. But the body in which you've been resurrected has a mind of it's own, instincts that must be controlled.

At least they aren't sending you in alone.

    ---

This is VERY loosely based on a story I read once on DeviantArt... I understand the concept's a little bit vague, but I certainly feel like it has potential. I'll try to go deeper into it where I possibly can if I ever get to the OoC/IC phase, or even right here if I think of more details.

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean... I totally wasn't drawn in by the David Tennant, and I definitely didn't stay for the plot. Psh. I'm totally not even being sarcastic. Heheh...
Seriously, please give me a spot in this. I love your tagline.

    You are dead. XD

Sure thing, though you can imagine that I'm going to need a few more than just two people. =P

I posted this in the other int. check and figured that this page shouldn't be left in the dust. =P

To be honest, I'm still trying to figure out the finer details. But the brunt of it is that near-future humanity is essentially fighting a "first contact" (heavy quotation fingers there =P) war against a race that someone (EXTRA) has obviously known about for a long time. Earth is under attack, and the enemy is not only physically tougher, but technologically superior for the most part as well. As far as traditional warfare goes, we are fighting a losing battle.

EXTRA immediately went somewhere no one would ask inconvenient questions: The bodies coming off the front lines. They took ones in which the brains were relatively in-tact, and gave those brains a new home, in bodies grown from modified alien genetic material. No one yet know where they got this material, nor how long ago, or even how the procedure worked. But now these soldiers owe EXTRA their lives, and EXTRA's calling in the favour.

The aliens: these creatures are largely the reason for the name of the RP. Standing at about two and a half meters on average, these bipedal, reptilian creatures have a thick hide that can withstand most punishment including (but not limited to) low calibre gunfire, temperatures up to and exceeding 300 degrees Celsius, or below -60, and what a human would consider lethal blunt trauma without any form of exterior protection. Their hands have four long, taloned digits, including an opposable thumb each. Their digitigrade feet are similarly arranged. The most interesting feature of these sentients by far are the large, leathery wings attached to heavily knotted muscles that act as extra arms, and make them capable of self-propelled flight, though their size would argue against it.

Details are coming together, but I hope this answers at least some of your questions for now.

Okay, one thing that I don't understand; are we in alien bodies, or did we use alien genetic materials to make these bodies?

    - - - Updated - - -

Er, to clarify; do we look just like the aliens, or are we merely similar?

    - - - Updated - - -

"One that looks exactly like the monsters you died fighting." I'll pay more attention now. XD Also! If I may make a suggestion? Perhaps the aliens could be a hive mind type thing, so that we can't just be like.... *sneaks behind enemy lines*?

I was thinking something more along the lines of genetic memory, something that would be absent due to the tampered cells. Though the hive-mind deal can have a similar effect. Again, I'm still putting details together. =P

I have, as well as the rest of the series, though not the Shadow series. Haven't been able to get hold of Ender's Shadow. :/

I see what you're referring to, though, with the Buggers... But I can't help but feel that the aliens should have at least some sense of self. Genetic Memory would allow for that.
