I hope we start getting more Astartes, soon. Would be a little awkward if the ratio of cultists outnumbered the Chaos Marines... xD

That's what I was thinking. We're the Black Legion, not Alpha Legion!

I think it's interesting. Proves that Chaos Space Marines are not the end-all-be-all top of the Chaos food chain.

    But fluff-wise, they are.

Well if we are talking fluff, the top of the food chain would be greater daemons, daemon princes, the daemon primarchs, and of course the Warmaster and then various other Chaos Lords and Sorcerers of varying power. Then you have your Chaos Terminators and Chosen marines and cult marines (CSMs dedicated to a specific god), Chaos dreadnoughts "Helbrutes", regular CSMs of various ranks, cultists and Chaos spawn. The Dark Mechanicus and Obliterator cults are in there somewhere too, but that's the basic outline of it.

Incidentally, it might behoove you to know that most Chaos warbands use their cultists as ritual sacrifices and meat shields. True, there are those such as the Alpha Legion who put them to other uses, such as destabilizing world governments, and cultists with unique skill sets such as psykers are often put to use by their masters (for as long as they can keep from getting possessed or horribly mutated, that is). But for the most part, the Traitor Astartes view anyone not a Space Marine or a daemon of some sort as beneath them.

I thought we were just talking mortals in the RP. In the grand scheme of things, of course greater demons and the gods themselves would be at the top.

I find it interesting that the Black Legion in this RP would allow cultists to fight alongside Chosen at all.

Some cultists perform well above meat sheild grade such as the Blood Pact who have routinely smashed IG units and have gone so far as to seize forge worlds.

“Enemies of the Imperium, hear me. You have come here to die. The Immortal Emperor is with us and we are invincible. His soldiers will strike you down. His war machines will crush you under their treads. His mighty guns will bring the very sky crashing down upon you. You cannot win. The Emperor has given us his greatest weapon to wield. So make yourselves ready. We are the Imperial Guard, and your doom is upon you. "

Ah, the Blood Pact are my favorite Chaos-worshipping mortals. I had the impression that the cultists we're using would be directly-affiliated to, or servants of the Black Legion, though. The Pact aren't bound to any Marine Legion.

Indeed but I just wanted to point out that cultists can hold their own and prove their worth, and it is not like the Black Legion is very cohesive anymore so maybe our warband uses cultists more.
