Naruto was only good until it became apparent that it was going to be another stereotypical shonen battle thing. Just a bunch of fights where the protagonists go up against insane odds and somehow come out victorious in the end no matter what, spaced out by bland character development that doesn't really change anything and filler stories that make you want to gouge your eyes out. After that point it became one of those things where I watched the battles and then kind of stopped caring about the other stuff because it never truly matters. Oh, and the massive lot of filler material they packed into the end of the Naruto series, holy shit...

Same goes for Bleach, but I liked that one more because it didn't start off with a very childish tone like Naruto. Also gotta give them props because some of their "filler" arcs fully fledged original story arcs to give the manga time to get ahead, rather than little shitty filler chapters from the manga turned into a few episodes. Bleach had some of that too, sure, but far less of it than Naruto as far as I've seen and heard.

I mean, it's become so bad in Bleach now (my friend lets me know what generally happens, as he's still into Bleach) that they've come up with some "Zero Division" as a last resort or something. These shonen series are basically perpetually growing weapons; once you beat one, there's a bigger fucking sword behind it.

That's why I love this one manga series called "Medaka Box" because it plays on all the tropes of typical shonen manga like Bleach and Naruto.

Eh, I stopped following Bleach after they ended the anime with no real conclusion. Guess they plan on making a movie out of the final story arc from the manga or something, idk.

But you're right, it's all just a power creep game. That's why I watch them for the fights. The fights are fun, they tend to get bigger and better as the series goes on. Story stuff though? Nah, fuck that.

I haven't heard much about Medaka Box, I'll have to give it a look.

Be warned, it's a bit strange. It's left me scratching my head a couple times because of how illogical some of the character's decisions/conclusions are, but I'm pretty sure those are also just jabs at shonen series ridiculousness.

Loved Inuyasha as a kid. That and Cowboy Bebop.

EDIT: Kind of out of no where...

    Twilight:

One bitch's choice between necrophilia and bestiality.
Written by a woman with less writing ability than most twelfth grade students.

Tried watching Inu-Yasha but got bored of it within two episodes...didn't start from the beginning, but i ain't going back and watching now.

I am still reading Bleach (fuck near dropped it a while ago, but then they throw that curve in, promising to explain just why Ichigo is so badass...fucking hooks.).
Still reading Naruto ...still not sure why, mindless entertainment?

    Also Reading:

    Ratman for the Shounen-style fights
ReMember for some cool art and hopefully a good storyline
Area D - Inou Ryouiki for the story and interesting characters and good art.
    Kurogane Again, good art, storyline.
Gamaran, more fighting, simple story but should end....I hope.

Plus a number of others I can't remember at the moment.
