Sticking together sounds good. And whether or not he respects Tancred's beliefs is irrelephant, the fact that he's human makes him an ally. Bringing up the subject might cause some issues, but I'm sure we can work it out...

Hey ryan, I might be a dick here but I want to get some stuff straightened out. I like going into detail sometimes. These are just some questions specifically about your fighting, mostly your swords.

A) Good for stabbing; Because of the style of blade, you will get stuck inside the person trying to pull it out. Is your character suppose to be extra strong? Because you would have to use all yuor strength trying to pull it out, unless the teeth are small.
B) Good for slashing; Same problem as before, but not really as much.
C) Your blade idea proposes two alternatives. So is your blade made out of magically enhanced indestructible aluminum? For it to easily slice through someone, the teeth would have to be razor thin, and a razor thin blade would constantly break and need frequent sharpening and repairs. It would certainly break on armor otherwise. If not, then you're suggesting your character has superman strength and can cut through someone with a thick toothed blade like it's nothing.

Sarpedon, could something be used to counter-act the lack of focus thing? Like for example, on Fredrick, he would undoubtedly know several prayers, some of them Latin, so could he begin muttering them under his breath or something to clear his mind? Since he would also undoubtedly believe much in these prayers.

Language shouldn't matter too much, considering that this is a fantasy universe, but things like spells or items that aid magic resistance, and if you're a cleric or know one, prayers for magical resistance work too. Just don't cast those spells too close or they won't work as well XD

and just another note on Ryan's swords. Metal needles are usually made of iron or steel, so those blades would not be particularly light XD
