Bump.
Most role plays and Fantasy has Humans, Elves, Dwarves, etcetera. I was thinking that in this role play, there would be Humans, and later the old fashioned almost cliche races there always are, but I was also thinking of there being very prominent races not often, to my knowledge, explored races.
The Center of Conflict In this Story, at least in the beginning, is between Six Key Races. The Serpent-Kin, the Sasquatch, The Lycans, the Minataurs, the Neanderthals and the Humans. This is a Six Way battle Royale between the major races of Cardice, a continent seperate from much of the world at large. This role play does not begin as a Nation role play, but rather as a faction role play that can become a Nation role play.
Players are in the role of high-ranking officers with troops at their disposal. They see the horrifying effect of war on the countries and tribal nations. Slaughter, torture and other violations of the holiness of life.
Here Is A List Of Factions:
Chislevec League: (Northern Native Americans)
The Chislevec are a large coalition of Tribes. They possess awesome stealth and archery skills. They can live off the land equally well as the Sasquatch. Their Shamans can summon and channel animal totems to fight their enemies. Chislevec are both a great warrior tribe, and a peaceful tribe. The Chislevec are more numerous than the Danaan but much less numerous than the Varian Empire. In-fact, the Virian Empire have been trying to subjugate the League for one thousand years. If you are a Chislevec player, you are in possession of a significant, but not huge tribe on the Southern border. However, the Virian Empire has stopped trying to conquer the Chislevec since the Race Wars started.
Virain Empire: (Think Incan, Mayan and Aztec) They have weapons of brass, start with the largest numbers of troops and grow food most easily. They sacrfice victims, but only victims of war. Currently they are in the Five way war with the other races. Players who choose the Virain Empire begin as a minor King subjugated by the Emperor. Magic from Varain victim's blood is a useful tool as both a shock factor and for "peaceful" benefits. The land will be fertile if given the blood of evil doers. The Varain Empire possess great Pyramids in the jungle that actually act like magical "Power Plants" for certain needs, such as the working of magic.
Tribe Of Danaan: (Celtic)
Brittonic and Irish based celtic tribes that merged into one large clan. They have weapons and shields, and rarely armor made of iron. They are head hunters, but they only hunt for the heads of those whom they declare war on. They are trying to stay out of the race war. Players begin as a war chief of one of the minor Tribes. The tribe of Danaan have druidic warriors capable of actually taking heads captive for knowledge and "Forced" guidance. In addition, druidic magic includes the use of animals and the seasons of nature for spells. The Danaan are still travelers, and can make good tradesmen. The Tribe of Danaan are newcomers to this continent, and thus aren't yet targeted by any single major Race.
Lycans:
Lycans are currently naturally (Well supernaturally) born wolf-men with superiority in every physical aspect of living to Humans, save for the fact that they cannot shape shift, and can rarely use weapons due to their possession of claws on both feet and hands. They have strong, sinewy muscles for light, natural armor and magical tattoos for serious protection. Players of the Lycan race start with a very large "Pack" of Lycans. Lycan culture is similar to Nordic culture. Indeed it is said the Lycans come from a land from far away, were cursed into beasts. They redeemed their honor and were given the choice to either transform into men once again, or sent to this world in order to carve out greater destinies for themselves. Lycans rarely stay in one place but they do have sacred places that they gather more than other areas.
Sasquatch:
Sasquatch are somewhat like Lycans in that they are in low numbers (For a major race) It is difficult to outfit an army of Sasquatch with weapons and armor because of their size. The Sasquatch are a formidable force without weapons, however. They can kill fully grown Lycans with their fists. On the other hand, a Sasquatch can use boulders, specially made bows and arrows, and spears/throwing spears much better than Lycans, for example. The Sasquatch are highly adaptable, maybe even more so than Humans. Their mental states, however, are more attuned to being "wise" and "aware" with great senses of their environment than Math, and Science. Sasquatch players are positioned as "Shaman" of a Tribe.
Neanderthals:
Very much like Humans, in fact, they kind of are. Neanderthals have a lower reproduction rate than other Humans. They "outgrew" the inability to speak once they came to this world, however. Neanderthals know mystical ways, the use of Totems and the magics of stone, leather, skin, hide and stone to fight with bronze, iron or even harder metals. They live longer than ordinary Humans but also take longer to develop mentally, although their bodies mature. This means that they are seen as "stupid" or "dumb" by outsiders. They are masters of the hunt, however, and that is another matter of magic they are strong in. They can speak naturally with animals, the more powerful Neanderthals can speak with plants and even inanimate objects. Neanderthal players are positioned as "Wisemen", or "Cheiftains".
Serpent-Kin
Serpent-Kin possess a kind of magic called "Sorcery". Sorcery is dangerous, and involves performance of certain gestures, ingredients and ceremonies in order to enchant an individual with the power of magic needed to consistently use a kind of spell called a "Power". While Serpent-Kin are not the inventors of Sorcery, they most likely brought it to the Continent. Some breeds of Serpent-Kin are fast, some are slow but tough and strong, and others are somewhere in-between. They don't possess the weakness of not being able to use armor, and weapons, however. In addition, Serpent-Kin are wildly renowned for their "evil", which, while not totally a lie, is highly exaggerated by their opponents. Although Serpent-Kin are not evil, they possess the societal norms of Ancient cultures, including slavery. "Serpent-Kin players are put in the position as "Prince", of a small Royal House.
Minataurs:
Minataurs possess a Greek like culture. Troy/Athens/Sparta and other city states. Their long standing battle with other races has led the warlike city-state to have greater power over the "Athenian" based state. Minataurs have the same trouble with armoring and arming themselves as the Sasquatch. Abundance of certain materials is needed to weaponize them efficiently. These half-men, half-bulls remember the age when they were slaves of the Serpent-Kin. (All were at some point). The Minataurs were the last of the Serpent-Kin slave races to be freed, just five generations ago. Minataur Players are put in the position of a general of the Minataur League.

Awesome. Finally, some interest!^^
So, potential players, I was thinking we could make it a point to try and end the Six Way War, maybe by usurping the governments?
That would make it even more interesting, while their are other players that have characters who are trying to stop the few who are attempting to end the Six Way War....If that makes sense.
You mean loyalists? Yeah that would make sense too.![]()
