Can't think of a title, yet.
The holidays were quickly approaching Evesdale. Summer was beginning to fade away as the sweet chill of autumn floated in. Outside leaves began to turn an amber color and gather on the green grass, bathing in the warm sun. The town parade was echoing on throughout the hills past Evesdale, carrying over the Bleak Mountains and into the Farwoods. In the middle of the town was a large stage of performers, their music spreading over the homely town like warm honey.
Elaryn was in the middle of the stage, his lute resting on his right knee as he sat on a small wooden stool. His fingers flickered across the strings of the instrument as quick as lightning, chords creating a harmony like wind rustling leaves. The performance went on and on, lasting about an hour or so before the performers took a bow and left the stage. Making his way through a pile of assorted flowers, Elaryn stepped down from the stage as the crowd moved closer to greet him.
Once the occasion settled down and everyone was fat and satisfied from their meals, Elaryn made his way out of the celebration and over to a large tree outside the village. It was a tall pine with thick leaves giving shade from the sun. He leaned his back up against the tree trunk and let out a long sigh of enjoyment, taking out a long-stemmed pipe from his travel-sac. The day soon turned to night as he puffed away, watching the sun make its slow and steady way behind the Bleak Mountains. He was alone for the first time in days.

Djhanna peered down at the stranger leaning against the tree. "It's late now, why hasn't he left!" She pondered to herself, lightly brushing her black hair behind her ear. Her fingers tapped the heavy book sitting on her lap, as she let of out a sigh of annoyance. "Guess I gotta go down.." Djhanna thought. Slipping down one branch to another, she lost balance and fell out of the tree. Laying sprawled out in front of the man, she blinked a few times.

Elaryn made no movement, staring blankly at the girl sprawled out in front of him. With a quick and almost fluid motion, he was up on his feet crouching over the girl. He poked a finger at her chest, “Are you okay?”

Djhanna blinked a few times, still quite in shock as to what just happened. She climbed that tree a million times, and this time she falls. Scrambling to get up on here feet, her cheeks turned the brightest shade of red. "Yeah... I'm okay." Looking on the ground, she noticed her book missing, she lazily raised an eyebrow to this.

Elaryn blushed at the girl, "That was quite a fall." Was she spying on me? He thought eagerly to himself. "What were you doing up there? Did you drop something?" He scanned the grass around her feet. The grass seemed taller than he realized, almost a foot. He saw nothing, then looked back up at the girl, as shadow passing over his face as a bird flew by. "I can help you look, if you'd like." He smiled.

"Ahh.." She paused for a second, still quite in shock. "I was reading the.. a book, a certain book I'd rather not my family find out about. However it seems to have dissappeared, Maybe by the roots?" Djhanna pointed down behind his feet, as she pulled a stick from her now very messy hair.

"The roots?" Elaryn turned around and looked down at the bottom of the tree. To his surprise, the roots were very large. He knelt down to get a better look. "Whoa..." He gasped, looking near the roots he saw there was a large cavern space under the tree. How did I not see this before? He thought to himself, then reached a hand down. It was shady under the tree, but he could still glimpse the shadowy figure of a book. He tried to push as far as he could to reach the book, but it was too deep in. "I see it in here, but I can't reach it."

Djhanna giggled lightly as this gentlemen reached deep into a hole to gather a book for her. "I can come back in light time, and retrieve the book. I think it's relativly safe in there." She brushed the dirt off her butt.

"Inside here?" Elaryn looked into the wide space, the dirt floor, it felt colder inside. "I suppose." He said nervously, standing back up to face the girl, blushing as she cleaned herself off. "Where do you live?" Elaryn picked up his sac and lute case that he almost forgot he brought. He dusted his hands off on his pants.

"On the otherside of town, the Fitzalan farm to be precise." Djhanna looked around the dark empty field, and took a side step towards the man. Looking back at the cavern under the tree, then back to the quickly rising moon, she let out a small huff.
