If you guys are enjoying this / reading this / want to keep seeing updates, make sure to post and bump this so I know. I'll keep this updated though the OP will only be updated once per in game "Day" this is a Fallout New Vegas Modded Let's Play, and I'm RPing as a Brotherhood of steel Outcast, who is travelling east. He wants to make sure Nevada is a safer place before he leaves though, which is what he does. Enjoy! (PS: I number and date my posts so that they're easy to find, try using the forum search function to make sure you stay up to date.)
#1 Saturday 10.18.81 9:03 AM
I have started my Journey as a Brotherhood Outcast, I'm tired of this establishment and it's treatment of outsiders. I have started my Journey east, and I hope to find and join the Brotherhood Chapter their, I've heard many good things about it, though from the worst people of Nevada. It is their I will make my change, but before I leave, I will make this place a bit better.
#2 Saturday 10.18.81 11:13 AM
I have arrived at The Powder Gangers main HQ in Nevada. Before I leave I will make sure these people never hurt a living soul again. Eddy will be read his crimes, and then struck down. They look well armed, but not many can stand up to a Brotherhood Paladin, with matching Power Armor, and my trusty RCW rife.
#3 Saturday 10.18.81 11:47 AM
Shit, Armor Piercing ammo hurts I'm hoping the nannites in this stim pack can patch up my lung and kidney before the thing fills with blood. Oh, I'm fucking pissed now. EDDY! I'M COMING FOR YOU!
[heard in the distance] Fuck you BOYSCOUT!
#4 Saturday 10.18.81 12:03 AM
[Eddy] Hey boyscout, I don't have to take this shit from you.
[There is a muffled thud, it is suspected The Outcast is Striking Edward.]
Eddy Smith, you are being charged with 243 Counts of Murder, 17 Counts of Destruction of Property, and nearly 1,345 counts of Strong Arm Extortion. On a personal note, you are being charged for damaging Brotherhood property. How do you plea?
[Eddy] I plea that you shut the fuck up before my men get back and slice you head to toe. Ohgo~ What is THAT!?
This is your lackey's Arm, which I removed with my Laser Rifle to prove a point. My point being you fucked up Eddy, you're not going to be allowed to behave how ever you like. Your actions have consequences, and I will remove your blight from this earth.
[Eddy] No, stop STOP STOOOOARRRRRRRGHHHHHHAAAGGGGG
[Pneumatics are heard, it is suspected that The Outcast is using his power glove to squeeze Eddy's chest until it pops. See Brotherhood Picture #34A for more details.]
[more voices] Hey he killed the boss! Get him! Fuck there's blood everywhere! He's not human, He's a... Fuckin Yao Guai or somethin'
[Gun Fire is heard]
[Laser Rifle fire is returned, the quick pace of heavy thuds leads us to believe The Outcast is fleeing. The Outcast is heard retching moments later]
Got to make it to a Town... Grrragh, fuck, fuck, fuck. Lung is probably punctured, shoulder is fractured... I'm not going to make it much further without a stim pack and some meds. This is the last of my Med X and the last of my Stims hopefully it'll get me close enough to... To...
#5 Saturday 10.18.81 4 PM
I passed out about an hour from Goodsprings, a robot named Victor managed to carry me and my possessions the rest of the way. The doctor there had enough stims and medical practice to get me on my feet. I can feel the Nannites repairing my body back to peak physical condition as I record this log. I think I'll take the Train out East as it'd be safer, which means I must head to New Vegas. Death Claws cover the landscape so I must travel around the mountain range. This will increase the time of my journey by several days.
#6 Saturday 10.18.81 4:41 PM
I decided to reload on supplies, and to unload on all the Powder Ganger weapons I had collected, giving them away to the people of Goodsprings for a very good price. This allows them to defend them selves, but I can still get a few supplies. I buy some food and water for the upcoming trip, and try to learn a little more about the region, I know of the NCR who are trying to reclaim Nevada for society, and I believe that is a good place to start. They must be doing poorly if weaklings like the "Powder Gangers" can push them around.
I talked to Sunny Smiles and explain I want to learn a little about the region she led me out behind the restaraunt and we talked as we practiced our aim on empty bottles. As always my aim was perfect. She told me some disconcerting things, and I think my stay may end up being quite a bit longer if it's true.
As I walk inside I hear the owner of the Saloon arguing with a man wearing Powder Ganger cltohes, I was going to fire on him right there, but Sunny stopped me. Not knowing anything about the conflict, I deferred to her judgement. Frustratingly, I had to watch as he threatened the town and storm off, like some great big child.
I talked to Trudy a bit and learned about Ringo, a man who pissed off the Powder Gangers, which sounds like a good guy in my book. So I will most likely head up there to see how I can help. Trudy also explained to me about the Legion, another small time gang that apparently dresses up as Roman Soldiers. I seriously doubt they're giving the NCR that much trouble, but it would be good to look into it, another good reason to head to New Vegas.
Before I do so, it is getting dark, and I must talk to Ringo before it's too late
\#7 Saturday 10.18.81 5:02 PM
I like Ringo, he shot a few Powder Gangers and took a tactical retreat when necessary. Although he is putting the town at risk, I think with the provisions I've provided them, they will be able to defend themselves. Ringo suggests I talk to Sunny Smiles and I agree.
#8 Saturday 10.18.81 5:42 PM
Stupid country bumpkins have no Idea the danger their in. While Trudy was able to get a small militia together, I couldn't convince the store owner "Chet" nor the "Easy Pete" to spare any supplies. It's like they want to get gunned down. I can see the Powder Gangers approaching now, which means we have maybe an hour or two before they arrive. Trudy and Smiles will have to stall while I get Ringo. Hopefully, these people don't have Armor Piercing Ammo
#9 Saturday 10.18.81 6:26 PM
Good god there was so much Dynamite, I think the fools did more damage to their own forces then ours. Not only was their aim bad, but they were inexperienced as well. I think Joe Cobb was part of a Splinter Faction, rather then a piece of the main group. We slaughtered them and Chet surprised me with 100 Caps, I decided to splerge and buy a piece of Brahmin Steak. It is night now, and while my Armor has night Vision, I'd much rather save the batteries. Besides I need sleep, I will march onward to the next town Primm, in the morning. Hopefully it will be a much quieter and enjoyable experience.
#10 Sunday 10.19.81 7:13
I start my Journey to Primm today, before I left I purchased a scope for my Varmint Rifle, which will help me stay aware of my surroundings. Other then that, my Morning was uneventful
#11 10.19.81 8:33 AM
I saw 2 Powder Gangers attack some poor traveler, gunning him down with no warning. I responded the same, firing from a concealed position, I was able to eliminate both targets. I found plenty of dynamite in their camp, at least these two were smart enough not to use it on everyone who passes by. I take this time to wonder about home, and the people I have left behind, though I have no wish to return, I still mourn the loss of friendship, I find the road I walk upon very lonely, and miss having a companion of some kind. I asked Sunny to travel with me, back at Goodsprings, sadly she said No.
#12 10.19.81 10:00 AM
I have arrived at Primm, on my way there I encountered some Gecko's they were easy to hunt giving their rabid nature. I only wish I had the tools to cook the meat, before I sank my teeth into their salty briney flesh. As I approached Primm I was stopped by a member of the NCR, trading my Recon Armor for a Leather Duster, they did not recognize me as Brotherhood, which was just as well, since I wasn't.
Powder Gangers. Again. Always with the Powder Gangers, I have no idea why everyone is so scared of "The Legion" I have not seen a single Roman Dressed gangster, but I have seen scores of these silly men with explosives. It seems they have occupied Primm. The towns people have barricaded themselves in the Casino, and the Gangers have taken the Hotel. The NCR has set up base right next to the town, the silly bastards. They just sit and watch complaining about lack of weapons, and men. Idiots, I will take care of the situation myself, since apparently I'm the only person in Nevada with a sack.
I decided to listen to some music on my Pipboy, then turned it off, the local radio channels are shit.
#13 [Recording] 10.19.81 12:33 PM
Recording so that I don't forget this later, captives name is Deputy Beagle, he says he's the interim Sherriff, I'm gonna have to take his word on that.
[Beagle] Jesus Christ, there was 8 of them and you... Holy crap. [vomits] How did you... what is that thing? You punched a man's head CLEAN OFF! not to mention the Dyna... Oh god... [vomits]
Deputy, please pay attention, I'm going to untie you, I'm hear to help.
[Beagle] Please don't kill me Mr. Steel man, please...
Ok, I'm going to give you a bit of Med X to calm you down... Alright? [Hiss of Pneumatic needle]
[Beagle sounds much calmer, as the morphine floods his system.] MMmm... Thank you, now what can I do for you?
I'm clearing this place out, and all I wanted to know is if you were hurt. How many people are here, and what the hell happened here.
[Beagle mumbles a bit] I'm fine, just fine they were keeping me nice and healthy, going to sell me to the Legion, said I'd make a nice slave, with my big strong back and my winning smile. Said Ceasar likes the boy, not sure what he meant... Guess it doesn't matter, now that he's nothing but a smear.
Ok, What happened here?
[Beagle] When the NCR had that prison break, a bunch of convicts fled the facility, people who weren't powder gangers, people who wanted to be free, pretty much everyone just left who didn't want to be part of the new whatever the hell gangers are. I guess some of the nastier ones saw Primm and thought it'd be a nice place to make a home. So they ran right in here, fighting, guns blazing... Oh we fought where we could, but really, with the sheriff dead we just didn't have the man power to defend ourselves.
Yeah, I saw that.
[Beagle] There's quite a bit more upstairs, I don't have numbers, but I remember it was a LOT.
Alright, get out of here, you're no use to me in this state, and you'll just get yourself killed.
[Beagle] Yes sir!
[Footsteps are heard steadily getting quieter until a door shuts.]
Personal Note: There it is again, Legion, I'm starting to think the problem in Nevada is bigger then I feared. It all seems to stem from Legion, once I get Primm under control, I believe I'm going to make sure this section of the wasteland gets some help. Then I'll head to the DC, and Join Elder Lyon's Group.
#14 10.19.81 3:18 PM
I picked up quite a hefty amount of loot from all the Powder Gangers, I believe I will distribute it to the Citizens for cheap, in exchange for food and some ammo. I'm surprised to find so many places carrying MFC's and ECP's, I guess the Brotherhood locking themselves away hasn't really allowed for a lot of scavenging. I kind of pity the Brotherhood, they are a dying breed, and because of their strict adherence to their own laws, they will not manage to survive. I wonder how Veronica is doing, bah. It won't do me any good to think about her really. Besides, I'm pretty sure she only played for her own team
#15 10.19.81 3:30 PM
The deputy thanked me for my help, and I was able to get a fair amount of supplies from the local populace. It sounds like the Deputy will be taking credit for what happened in the hotel, and while it irritates me a bit, I'm not going to go around and prove him a fool. It would seem he does that enough on his own.
He asked me to find a new Sheriff for the town, as he does not really want the responsibility. My thoughts immediately turn to the NCR, though he suggested there was a man in the Correction Facility that could be sheriff. I decided to not Fill him in on the events that transpired their, as it would most likely only bother him.
I now will seek out Lieutenant Haynes, a man camped just outside of Primm, and I will ask him to take care of the town. I'm sure he will be delighted to expand NCR's influence. After this I will travel to the nearest town. Or at least that's what I plan.
#16 10.19.81 3:47 PM
Or, I'll be headed to the NCR Mojave Outpost to talk about getting more soldiers to protect Primm. I'm starting to think every person in Nevada is helpless. [sigh] A paladin's work is never done.
#17 10.19.81 5:09 PM
On my way out from Primm headed to Mojave, I got ambushed by three Powder Gangers, they managed to badly burn my leg, their explosives eating through my armor, and another clipped me in the shoulder with their ballistic weapons. Even though I managed to eliminate all of them, I've been heavily wounded. Without stimpacks or a Doctor's Bag, I'm cook, I'll need to limp my way to Mojave Outpost, the most likely place to have a doctor. The quickest way there would be too cut through this Dust Bowl.
#18 10.19.81 7:40 PM
Yes pipboy, I know I'm crippled thank you for the excellent advice of finding a Doctor. It's not like I didn't just spend TWO FUCKING HOURS LIMPING THROUGH THE DESERT YOU STUPID PIECE OF [Clanging noises, it is suspected The Outcast is punching the Pipboy.] stupidpieceof... Anyways, I've arrived in Mojave, and have requested the troops Haynes needed. Luckily for me, the people here understand the point of Primm, and how helpful it could be if it were protected. They sent a troop out west to back up the City.
There weren't any real Doctors in Mojave, but I managed to find a Doctors Bag, filled with not only Nannites, but some A grade surgical auto-doc equipment. I was able to patch myself up in a jiffy. I went to the bar / barracks in town to pick up a few drinks and a few Z's. I met a woman named Cass there. Apparently Legion raiders attacked her caravan and burned the whole thing to Ash including the drivers and cargo, also the roads are shut down due to danger from the Legion. NCR won't let any merchants past
I'm starting to think The Legion is much more organized, and possibly to cause for the Powder Gangers recent attacks. I don't really have any reason but it just seems true in my gut. Tomorrow, I will travel back to see Haynes, and make sure Primm is safe, and everything is back to normal that way. I'll also talk to head CO here about making the streets safer.
I'm not sure why, but I feel compelled to help the people here. Maybe I'm delaying my departure, or maybe I just want to prove not all Brotherhood Paladins are stupid jack-offs. Either way, once I settle things here I'll be on my way to Nipton.
A sniper here asked me to explore Nipton for her and report back what I find. She thinks it was a Legion raid on the town. I think she's right.
#19 Monday 10.20.81 6:45 AM
Apparently I was mistaken, the dangers were not from Legion, but from the Giant Ants I saw in the Dust Bowl. I can see them through my scope, and if I'm careful and quiet I'll be able to eliminate them all without being scene.
#20 10.20.81 6:48 AM
God, I'm awesome.
#21 10.20.81 8:11 AM
The head honcho here, Ranger Jackson, gave me a Service Rifle, some food, and a few repair kits for my troubles. Appreciative for my help, I think I will visit Cass, and see if she feels better now that the roads are open.
#22 10.20.81 8:21 AM
She laughed in my face, then swung a whiskey bottle at me. She barked something about a Caravan Company next to New Vegas, it would seem that I was also mistaken on why these people were stuck where they were. I will make a mental note to actually listen when people are talking, instead of just fiddling with the safety on my gun.
#23 10.20.81 11:03 AM
It started raining, I am drenched head to toe, and I can see lightning in the distance. I can see a pit stop in the distance, though I'm wary of it, I think I will circle around in case it might be an ambush. I also am starting to think I should have gotten better power armor when I left. This Recon Class stuff while lightweight, does not give me the protection I need.
#24 10.20.81 4:58 PM
I just got through letting down the last of the crucified in Nipton, with no real knowledge as of the appropriate way to dispose of the bodies, I simply threw them in the fire. I met a man named Vulpes Inculta it would seem I had finally met Ceasar's Legion. He talked to me and told me I would, "Bear witness" too his crimes.
and I witnessed a fair bit... The town had been burnt to the ground, the Legionairres standing around laughing and throwing more of peoples possessions in the flames to keep the fires going. There were Men and Women crucified, bound to their crosses with rusty nails and barbed wire. They bleeded and wept for mercy. None were strong enough to survive being taken off the cross, even with Stimpacks. It almost seemed like they had lost the will to live.
Inside were more bodies, not even children were spared as I watch Legionairre dogs chew on the bones of the damned. I nearly vomitted, in all my years of being a Paladin, I had never seen something so terrible. Anything so depraved.
He laughed at first, when I told him his crimes were unforgiveable. Taunted me when I told him he should pay. Then he was silent. Along with his followers, and the mongrels he brought with him. My rifle made short work of them. They were foolish to turn their backs on me. I don't leave survivors.
I am now headed back to the Mojave Outpost to share this grave news. Then on to Novac, I am no longer hopeful that the place will be peaceful. Now I only pray that what I see is not as terrible as what has happened before my eyes.
#25 Tuesday 10.21.81 10:51 AM
I had to pass through Nipton again to get to Novac, I just kept my head down, my only solace was that the flames had finally petered out, and that there was no more trouble in that particular patch of land. No-one deserved... That.
I kept walking along to Novac, though I was delayed by two seperate gangs, the first were a small group calling themselves Vipers, the lucky bastards managed to bust an actuator pump on my suit, making it useless. I could get it fixed in town, but it'd probably be cheaper just to buy new Armor. Heavy hearted I left the Recon Armor behind, checking my vast wares I picked up a suit of metal armor. It was archaic, but would have to do until I found something better.
The second gang was actually a reprieve, some feral ghouls wearing "follower of the Bright" robes carrying energy weapons ambushed me. I was lucky that my armor seemed to disperse some of the energy. Of course their robes were no match for my laser rifle. I got a fair amount of plasma and laser weapons and placed it in my pack happily. Hopefully, soon I'll get the camera function on my Pipboy working, which would be a god send, and helpful to keep my notes in order.
#26 Tuesday 10.21.81 11:39 AM
I saw the men in Roman armor again, this time waiting in silence to ambush a caravan. I decided not to give them a chance to explain themselves, and let loose with my laser rifle. I was unseen and swift, there were no survivors. I don't think the Caravan even heard the laser shots. The surprise on their face when they saw the dead Legionairres was what made the whole situation worth it for me.
# 27 Tuesday 10.21.91 12:26 PM
Another under equipped group of raiders, another ambush, I'm starting to think about getting off the main road and try my luck with the wildlife around here. I'm almost at Novac, and I'm feeling somewhat cautious of the area.
#28 Tuesday 10.21.81 2:14 PM
When I finally reached Novac, I was excited, it looked like a peaceful town, and for all rights it was. Curiously, I've also found the Securitron Vic, who happened to rescue me after my excursion at the NCRCF most likely a coincedence since we're both heading the same way, but still it is nice to see a friendly face after such weary travels. I wonder I offered to be his travelling companion, but it would seem he suspects I'd hold him back, which is possibly true. I decided to talk to the locals about any suspicious activity Legion, or otherwise.
While I'm here, I may as well also do some investigation on the men Deputy Beagle encountered, and what their connection, if any, to Legion is.
#29 Tuesday 10.21.81 6:36 PM
I talked to the day staff patrol, who admitted to knowing the Men Beagle talked about, but refused to give me the name unless I did him a favor. He wanted me to kill the Ghouls at the Repconn facility North of Novac. I decided better of it, and instead snuck into the man's house. On his terminal, there was a note. Apparently a man named Benny stole a package from his boss.He has been ahead of me it would seem, and leaving a trail of corpses in his wake. I simply want to talk to the man, but I doubt I could without cornering him. I will talk to a man named "Boone" who works the Night shift here in Novac, hopefully he has more information about legion.
While waiting for Boone, it should be noted a man name Malcolm Holmes approached me, and confronted me about some scavenging I'm doing. Apparently, there is a local legend tied around these sunset sarspirilla bottles, and that people are crazy about them. Some even willing to kill for them.
#30 Wednesday 10.22.81 3:12 AM
I think I have a problem... I really do. I just seem to attract trouble like moths to a flame, and this town is no different then the others.I met Boone, and he asked me to do him a favor. He needed me to find the person who sold his wife into slavery. I don't know why I accepted his job, but there was a certain sadness in Boones eyes that just made me want to help him. He has seen things I have seen. He too has a personal vendetta against Legion.
I decided to break into the local town leader's office, as most of these people have files for rumor and gossip. I nearly broke my cover trying to stifle fits of laughter. She actually had a receipt. A receipt for the sale of a human being, just filed away like she was going to get Tax Credits or something for it. I just couldn't believe people were this dumb in the wasteland.
Boone told me to send the person out front of the Dino, wearing his hat to tell him it's his target. It was simple enough, I simply broke into Jeanie-May's home, and told her their were Legion raiders coming. She ran so fast it was all I could do to keep up in my heavy armor, with my huge backpack.
Boone put her down before she knew what hit her.
I was lucky, Boone decided to leave with me to New Vegas. He and I were brothers in blood, and I was very glad that my lonesome road had a friend to walk down it with.
[Boone] I'm not Gay. Don't make me regret this.
Boone! I'm not flirting with you, this is just how Paladins are taught to do reports. Calm your tits!
