Sounds good so far. Can you stick up a CS pro forma? Have a rare bit of time tonight so might start work on this if I can
Geography of Lunea
Lunea is a vast planet but very little of it has been discovered through the ages; travellers are more likely to be snapped up by a five eyed crocodile than find a new foreign land. According to Paradisian knowledge, their Kingdom is the only one on the planet.
The Ruined Cities
Paradisia was originally composed of four main cities before the building of the Great Walls.
Pulchritudo was revered as the city of beauty and is said to have had multi-coloured waterfalls which fell from high in the sky whose water ran between its beautiful silver buildings. The demise of Pulchritudo came when a powerful water demon found a way to open portals through water and let an army of Demons inside, slaughtering thousands of Pulchritudans. The city now lies to the South of the walls of Paradisia in ruins, submerged by demon filled murky waters.
Avaritia is the second of the ruined cities and lies to the East of the walls of Paradisia. Avaritia is known to be the city of the greedy, and the myth goes that the Avaritians were so greedy that they fought so much over wealth, food and drink that they eventually destroyed themselves. Nobody truly knows how Avaritia destroyed itself; the mystery still confuses scholars, as there is little evidence to explain much more than fierce battle within the city.
(If you’d like to know how Avaritia was destroyed, just ask. It will be tied to the plot later.)
To the West there are great mountains which span the length of the Kingdom, there are known as the Eastern Mountains or the ‘nesting grounds’. The greatest number of demonic creatures are born in the mountains but little is known of the mountains as venturing even near them means a swift death for most; they are often surrounded by thick billows of grey smoke, indicating great blazes amongst the mountains. Between the Mountains and Paradisia lies the ruins of Avaritia, which are surrounded by many hills and grasslands making any raids of the city's ancient treasures difficult.
To the North lies Nox Forest; this forest is the subject of much dread to the people of Paradisia. It holds the closest demonic population and is filled with thousands of demons, some of which have the ability to fly and have been known to snatch humans from the slums of Paradisia into the forest. The forest is almost entirely completely dark even during day, hence the name ‘Nox’.
To the South are the ruins of Pulchritudo, submerged in a great lake of water filled with water demons. Amongst these are mammoth serpents which occasionally venture onto the banks to devour lesser demon prey and humans, as well as Merfolk with razor sharp teeth and scaly black skin.

Name: Ruan Kreig, sometimes called 'the fisher prince'
Age: 42
Appearance:
Background: Ruan wasn't born to much, but it was enough to live. There was no mother in his childhood home; she left his father when Ruan was just five, and since then it had always been the three of them: Ruan, his father, Uys, and his sister, Abri. His father was a teacher, albeit a poor one, and although money was always tight, his father had always managed to keep their heads above water.
He was eighteen when the incident happened... During the night demons had broken through the outer perimeter of the city; a fight had ensued between the Protectors and the demons, but when the critical moment came the Protectors withdrew to fortify their own district, leaving the poorer areas to the far more inferior defences of the humans who resided there. It was a bloody affair. When a demon burst in, enveloped in deadened flesh and searing hot flame, Ruan's father barricaded the door and fended off the beast as best he could; it was inconsequential. His father was slaughtered, and having brushed Ruan aside like a ant, the foul creature took Abri, his sister, and fled back to the nocturnal wastelands of Nox.
For years the despair drove Ruan to greater ruin; unable to think beyond his failure to protect his sister that night. It was only until the sheer desperation of his situation drove him to crime that his life began to change. He was caught by Protectors, stealing little more than food from their more than ample supplies. Apparently tensions between the two races of Paradisia had grown since the upstart of a new thieves guild, and any theft was viewed in a dim light. Ruan was sentenced to a labour prison that operated on the city's fringes in areas deemed too dangerous for most citizens to venture. Resources gathered from outside the city were ample but the hostility and danger of the area meant many prisoners barely managed to live out their sentence. Having survived his first year, Ruan showed remarkable resilience and fortitude, to the extent that he was noticed by several of the senior detainees. It was at this time, barely in his mid-twenties, that Ruan first met members of the thieves guild. At that time it was only a whisper on the lips of most men and women, but here he was, at the heart of it.
It would be six more years before Ruan was released. He would have served far less, but for an attempted escape when demons had drawn the guards away to the city's defence. In any case, the labour and toil of his work had left him with a strong but tired body. His mind however, having been nearly pushed to breaking, was stronger still.
Once free he linked up with the guild again. For a decade he worked in their shadows, pursued by Protectors at every turn. For every day in that score of years since the incident, he has blamed them for abandoning the humans to the will of the horde. Having seen this policy increase, Ruan remains absolute in his view that the future protection of the human race must lie with humans. In the guild, he manoeuvres events to that end, which in recent years has included daring attempts to steal the true power of the protectors: their magic.
Within his heart, however, Ruan keeps alive his flame of hatred for the demons. One day, he hopes to lead a raid of his own against the hordes of Nox. He has little hope left of his sister being alive, but little else keeps him so driven as to find out. And every day he doesn't know, the anguish of his past compels him to continue striving against all odds.
Skills: Ruan is strong for a human, a product of his years of hard labour. He is also an exceptional demonologist, driven to their study by the crimes they committed against his family. This knowledge makes him a prime candidate to lead any attempts by the guild into the demon infested wastelands.
Abilities: Ruan has stolen two powers from the Protectors. His first is a far weaker power, taken from one of the most junior of their numbers. This is the ability to fortify his constitution against poisons and, when it comes to it, dodgy cooking. The second is more powerful, which is the ability to obfuscate himself from other beings, including lesser protectors and demons. The power wasn't meant for human bodies, however, and it leaves him feeling weak and aged.
Recent History: Ruan continues to operate amongst the guild, setting in place the pieces of true human emancipation. In the past month, however, guild activities have taken a backdrop. A young woman who he had seen working in the slum's taverns has gone missing; the people no longer look for any assistance from the Protectors, and few seem to care about about a woman with few connections. Ruan, though, knows if the guild is to free mankind it must protect it even from itself; so he must prove that his organisation is more than just shadows and dust, but the true spirit of humanity, its manifest destiny, its future; simply, its new protectors.
Usual Inventory: A long grey coat, a little frayed and drab. A warm, woollen hat; a pair of rough black trousers and low cut leather boots. He carries a range of identification, most of which hold fake identities. His only weapon is a short hand-axe which is hidden in an inner pocket of his coat. Ruan's usual attire and gear is designed as much as possible to make him appear a 'grey man', unnoticeable amongst a crowd. When situations demand though, he has ample means of securing the right equipment for the job.

I'm thinking along the lines of a neutral demon, that lives in the wastelands or something, intelligent enough to survive on his own and talk to others but not overly intelligent. Does this sound like it will fit in?
@ Affili - I don't think so, pure Demons exist for the sole purpose of evil. It's central to their being that they are hateful creatures and enjoy chaos. However, I've already stated that Merfolk exist in the ruins of Pulchritudo alongside other demonic creatures so strange half breeds between humans and demons have most likely occurred. I'd imagine mostly through rape or demonic experimentation over the millennia.
I want you to feel free to come up with races and such on your own, perhaps some demonic/human breed which would result in the neutral creature you spoke of. Even come up with a short history of that race and decide where on the map you'd like them to be?
@ Aufidius - Fantastic application. :P I like how you went into detail on city districts - I'm going to get round to mapping out the parts of Paradisia, and that should help. Accepted, of course.

The map of the city so far. You can see by the borders around each of the districts how much protection is offered eg the Slums have no walls surrounding them, leaving them open to attack. The Merchant District and Housing District (for the more well off humans) are protected by walls, as well as the Labour Camp and the Protectors District.
