The date, April 14th, 2014. Life goes as planned when suddenly. New York is in ruins. London is a wasteland. Quebec, Montreal, Moscow, Bagdhad, Jerusalem, Johannasberg are all empty shells of their former selves. Every major city on the planet has fallen victem to the largest terrorist attack ever carried out by a single group. Nucli-tech the leading company in genetic research and alternative energy sources in the world has managed to con everyone on the planet. These explosions killed 97% of the population, wiped out all nonatomic and battery powered electronics on the planet, and coated the planet in a thick cloud. Borders were erased, there were no more enemies, no more war. Everyone had to fight to survive.
Nucli-tech's entire purpose for this was to completely re-engineer the human genome to make it perfect, to be able to mold it and shape it however they wanted. Nucli-tech was playing God, and they had just sent the Rapture to us all. They have armed militia roaming the countryside trying to find anyone who may have been altered. They have collected many specimens but nowhere near all of them. As the hunt continues, so do the experiments.
The Survivors most of whom were unaffected scramble to rebuild society and fight for survival. There is a rumor among the survivors that there are strange things happening to people. Some call them mutants but most of them refer to them in hushed whispers as "The Gifted." The explosions altered their genetic makeup and gave them all special abilities. Some have the power to manipulate water, or heal wounds. While others have the power to destroy everything in their path. Some are even rumored to be immortal. For the most part these powers are kept hidden. The Gifted who let the powers get to them ruined it for everyone. They slaughtered entire families just to watch them burn. While the good stay hidden tucked away in a society that's in shambles waiting for their time to rise up. What will you choose to do?

I have different directions I feel like we should go with this. Either
1) We are all strangers doing whatever people who don't know each other do when they aren't together then the bombs go off and we start from the beginning.
2) We are all captives of Nucli-Tech being tortured by scientists doing "experiments" but we revolt and have to work together to get the hell out of Dodge.
