This world is in far worse shape due to the war with the Titans having actually started earlier, roughly around the end of World War 2, with them making greater strides in the years than has been done in the Online Campaign. Major events that happened included World War 2 being pushed forward by Loki, which also had a war between the various pantheons, which ultimately left them weakened, allowing the cracks in Tartarus to grow, and ultimately having the Greater Titans be again freed. Surtr who was imprisoned has reclaimed his spot as supreme Titan Avatar of Fire, taking control from Prometheus... who had engineered an allied victory against the Axis, and is responsible for nuclear power being revealed earlier than normal, across more nations. Prometheus, taking a back role, has also begun with the creation of true mechas and machines, to supplement the army of Fire Giants at Surtr's disposal for when Ragnarok was to come. Which it did, although not in a normal way.
Odin, going mad with fear for his doom, was contacted by Prometheus, who offered him a spell that would allow him to slip from Fate's hold, so that his body would die, but Odin would live on, although in a body of Prometheus' making. Odin rejected the offer, but was still taught the spell that would allow this, and instead attempted to use it to move himself into a divine body of his choosing. His attempt was stopped, and Odin was presumed killed, although he was saved at the last moment by Prometheus, and is slowly regaining his divine powers, although now working for the Titan Avatar. Ragnarok ravaged the world, killing millions in wars and the three year winter. Some entire countries have been nuked off the map, and many nations are divided. Chunks of Asgard itself fell from the sky killing millions more. Ultimately, due to a plan by Baldur, Ragnarok was made not as bad as it could have been, and while most of the Aesir, the Norse Pantheon, have died, new gods, who were the children of the old ones, have taken their place, them being the gods who helped save the world from Ragnarok. Also Fenris and Surtr. It's a long story.
But there's more. Sometime back before the 5th century, Aten managed to free himself from his prison, and began work to again supplant himself as true divinity inside of another pantheon, choosing to take control of the Elohim ( Judeo-Christian-Muslim ) this time, instead of the Pesedjet ( Egyptian ). Yahweh, growing increasingly mad due to Fate, was cornered off by Aten, who began to act as Yahweh to a slowly maddening Jesus, setting up an environment where none of the others in the Elohim could see "Yahweh" but Jesus, who was now a pawn for the Titan Avatar of Light. Aten was then responsible for the Crusades, and ultimately for the Aesir-Vanir war, and the binding of the Aesir by fate to Ragnarok, and the corruption of Loki.
Mikaboshi, in more modern times, has corrupted a child of Amaterasu, and has begun using him as a minion to destroy the Japanese Pantheon, the Amatsukami. Prometheus, in his plan to get revenge upon Olympus, has helped Mikaboshi in the efforts to destroy the pantheon by reforging Susano-o's sword, and convincing him that Amaterasu had done it instead. Aten, however, wants to see Mikaboshi trapped ( thereby trapping the Greater Titan of Darkness ), and has begun pushing Jesus to try to bring about "Armageddon", by having Jesus raise Atlantis with the idea that there is where the final battle will take place. Lucifer has, however, become aware that Yahweh isn't the one talking with Jesus, but rather Aten is, and has begun amassing his armies in an effort to stop Jesus, thereby stopping the plans of Aten, thereby saving lives. Jesus, however, is still thought to be the good guy, and so people and gods are coming to his aid to battle Lucifer ( to the degree they can, given the other wars they're in ).
Lucifer also knows that raising Atlantis would make way for the old Atlantean gods to rise from their prison, where they were cast after all becoming evil. This itself links to a grand old scheme across pantheons by a group called the Keepers of the World, which includes Heracles, whereupon the group was formed to weaken or remove Gods from existence, due to the 'crimes' they committed against the entire continent of people of Atlantis, when they shoved the continent down south and froze it over, due to the nature of their worship. While the knowledge of this was supposed to be forgotten, Seshat, a member of the Pesedjet whose entire job was keeping records on everything, refused to get rid of the information about Atlantis, and hid it from the gods. Later Imhotep, founder of the Keepers of the World discovered the scrolls, and began to set his plans into motion, recruiting Hernan Cortes, a pawn of Queztalcoatl, manipulated into conquering the Aztecs as part of a war with Tezcatlipoca, Volund of Finnish royalty who was crippled, abused, and used by the Aesir for their wars, Marinette child of Erzulie of the Loa whom had spent her life in slavery, beaten and tortured and hunted, despite being divine, seeing the Loa and other gods as worthless rulers who should be replaced, and Himiko child of Amaterasu who despite all her powers, and her deeds for the Japanese pantheon, was looked down upon, disrespected, and ridiculed. They have a great plan that, while ultimately costing millions to possibly even billions of lives, would ultimately free humanity from the influence of the gods. Maybe. They aren't really sure, and there is the knowledge that only Cortes and Imhotep know, about the sacrifice of millions required, and the fear that one of them is secretly working for the Titans and plans to betray them all.
Zeus' fears that a child of his by Metis will be his downfall, grows sick upon hearing new renditions of the prophecy which herald Heracles ( whom he had with another woman ) as the true person to dethrone him, in what's being called a more true prophecy. Olympus has slowly divided itself on this issue, as there are those who want Zeus to stay in power, but there are others still who know that if the prophecy is true, then nothing they can do can stop Zeus from dying and being replaced, as he did to his father, and his father to his father's father. This has given the foretellings of Cernunnos more credence, and the Gaulish pantheon has begun to move to strengthen itself by taking control of formerly Greek / Roman controlled points of the overworld. The Irish pantheon, while not friends with the Greco-Roman pantheon, is a greater enemy of the Gauls due to old rivalries, and as such has taken to defending the Greeks in an attempt to keep peace, and prevent a rival group from becoming stronger.
