I took Chem in high school and loved it. I'm a bit nervous about this class though. I have heard that the course work is pretty rigorous, even for a community college, and that scares me a bit. Especially since I am going to be taking it online and not in the classroom setting. Dunno how that will go, but I'm looking forward to it. I can't understand Math but Chemistry I can understand. Go figure. o.O

Online class for Chemistry? That would be craziness for most people, the kinds who need to constantly ask questions to learn things. If you're good at learning stuff via reading and doing practice problems you should be fine. Even if you're an auditory learner it could be fine if the professor has good office hours or if your college has some decent program for getting help with work, student mentoring or whatever the heck it's called.

As for the math thing... You should be okay so long as you know how to use a calculator. The most I recall having to do math-wise that wasn't easily done in the head was various conversion problems. Those are just learning how to put the problem together then throwing all the numbers into the calculator in the right way. No need for anything more advanced than that unless you intend to get way into certain sub-fields of Chemistry.

However it happens to work out, good luck with the class. :D

My favorite part of Chemistry.. the days where we got to do practical experiments. I LOVED those days. Potentially blowing things up = made my week. (Hated the math, though. HATED it.)

    You're thinking of Caesium.

Francium reacts with the moisture in the air so it doesn't exist beyond a few seconds.

Also, I gave up on chemistry jokes after there was no reaction.
