Do you love using soundtrack while RPing?

I mean, when writing certain scenes listening to certain music or OST.

Or also if you're GMing, posting certain music that you would like to fit with the situation

I personally love to do that.

    How about you?

Once it would have been a miracle.

I use selected & edited playlists for just about every role play I'm involved in : always applying music to characters as well, to assist me in getting in their particular mindset. While it doesn't always help, I find myself enjoying it regardless. Same with giving certain role plays their own theme song or set.

Only posted music for an RP once, but listen to it while writing posts or character sheets all the time. does wonders to set a mood and get thoughts churning around.

Hmm, quite a lot of the time I'll listen to music while typing, although it depends solely on what kind of mood I'm trying to achieve. On rarer occasions, I prefer to focus on the words without background music. With or without it can inspire or put me off, depending.

But I'm just weird like that. xD

I really don't use music to fit a certain post or situation as most people probably won't even listen to the entire song that is given. As for using music to help me get the creative juices flowing when typing up characters, posts, and rps, I definitely do that. I think it just depends on the post and whatnot, though I just turn on anything that is good to listen to. xD

I listen to music a lot while typing posts, though that mainly has to do with how listening to music while staying up late writing posts (among other things) makes it a lot easier to stay awake, as opposed to the silence of night lulling me to sleep. XD

When I listen to music for this purpose, though, I do listen to certain types of music to get me into the mood. Peppy music to get me in a good mood when I want to write something funny/upbeat/etc, and more serious music for writing things, well... more serious. Really it's mainly because, if I am listening to music, then I can't get into character when the mood of the music is in stark contrast to what I'm trying to achieve. I don't typically turn on music just to achieve that mood, though. I can get into the right mood on my own when there's no background noise- I just can't do it when contrasting music is distracting me.

I thoroughly enjoy listening to a specific list of music while I write whether for an individual or group purpose. My particular list of music is drawn from a collection of my favorite songs off of a variety of official soundtracks from video games such as Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, Zelda, et cetera. Of course, I generally don't look for a specific song to elicit any sort of emotion or adrenaline for a particular type of writing. However, I suppose this is because all the songs on the list were specifically chosen for me, by me.

As for using music tracks as a means to stimulate a certain emotional response from my participants in a particular thread as a Game Master, I'm not sure I can speak on this matter appropriately. While I have used this tactic from time to time to stimulate interest and continued posting I cannot speak on whether or not this activity worked successfully. While no one explicitly stated to the contrary, I cannot take that as evidence that this exhibit did work to the task in which I intended it to carry out.

Ten points for the blackened one.

Occasionally. Usually I find it more distracting that helpful, but a sometimes it actually helps me focus my attention.

    Classical and bluegrass only, though.
