I am going to do a reboot of this one since the first time I tried to get this RPG going it never really got off the ground. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Wheel of Time RP?
Now the Wheel of Time is a series of fantasy books but the American Author Robert Jordan. To describe the setting very quickly in it time is circular, like a wheel, each spoke on the wheel is an age, now we in our world is in the first age, then comes the second age a time when channeling the One Power (Magick) get mixed with science to create a utopia mostly free of war or crime. This utopia get destroyed when a hole is drilled into the Dark One's prison which accidentally let this ancient, evil entity touch the world. Now to save the world a group of male channelers attacked the bore into the Dark One's prison and managed to seal it back up, the cost however was that saidin, the male half of the One Power got tainted eventually driving all male channelers insane and they in turn all but destroyed the world.
Only a few pockets of civilization survived the breaking of the world, forcing humanity to rebuild almost from scratch. Enter the third age where we will be playing. This is a pre industrialized society resembling our early Renaissance. Female channelers have an order called the Aes Sedai that likes to meddle in the affairs of everyone and they live in a great island nation called Tar Valon. 3000 years have passed since the breaking and the Aes Sedai try to prevent another such disaster by hunting down every man they can find who can channel, once they find them they gentle them, which is to destroy their powers something that leave the former channeler in a deep depression and they usually die soon after, for a channeler loosing their abilities is considered worse than death.
We will be playing 200 years before the start of the books, the reason for this is that as awesome as the story of the books are, that story are already written, placing the game 200 years before the start of the books we have about exactly the same world but it give us some wriggle space to create our own story and not bump into the main plot of the series constantly. I would prefer if players had some experience with this setting, now when I tried to start this game the first time there was some confusion as to what I meant with that. I do not need you to have read all the books or be an expert on everything Wheel of Time but you should have a rough idea about what this setting is about. If you have read one or two books, played the computer game or the D20 RPG game then you know enough to play in the RP, and if you want to play and have no experience with this world at all then if you read through the Wikipedia article on Wheel of Time then you should probably get enough information to play.
I am thinking this should be high casual, I do not need perfect spelling and grammar, as you can see I hardly have that myself, in fact content is allot more important to me than the wrapping so if you can write your character in a good and interesting way that means allot more than how your spelling are as long as you are understandable. I also do not need to have two or three paragraphs for each post, one paragraph is enough but try to avoid one liners.
Now to the plot for this RPG. The story I have planned will be based around an Aes Sedai hunting party going after a reported male channeler. Now you can play anything that might fit into that kind of story, an Aes Sedai, an Warder, a servant or trader who is traveling with the Aes Sedai party or perhaps a male channeler on the run from the hunting expedition. If you can give some reason why your character is part of the expedition then you can play that character. Now because the question always come, yes you can play a male channeler but he have to have some reason to be in the story, he could be the one the group is hunting like I said, or he could be a Warder apprentice who have just discovered his abilities and is wondering what to do, or perhaps a craftsman living in Tar Valon hoping that by hiding there he is in the last place the Red Ajah would look for one such as him. You can have more than one character if you want.
If there is any questions I will be more than happy to answer them. I hope I get some responses on this for it would be so much fun with a Wheel of Time game on this forum.

The game will be placed about 200 years before the start of the books. Most of the nations are the same as they are in the books, though Malkier is still standing, the Aiel War and what that bring have not raged yet and a few such differences but other that that yes same world but far enough into the past to not bump into the main plot of the series.
You can play the male channeler if you want though then your character will be in danger as he will after a while have a whole circle of Reds after him and his chances of meeting with a terrible end at some point in the game is fairly high, but if you are okey with that then welcome to the game. I will get an OOC up shortly.
Mkay, so the cultures and terminology are roughly the same. And yes, I'm excited to be closer to gentling with eacj post. I love being antagonists.

Yes the cultures and the terminologies is the same, as far as I know none of the nations changes name later than 1000 years or so before the start of the books.
Since your character will start out solo and not be with the rest of the group I will start the OOC so we can get the story going and I will get the hunting party going as more players want to join.

And I will try to get a few more players for this. I have three interested, and have gotten two player characters other than my own posted and I might talk my hubby into playing, but a few more players would be appreciated, especially some interested in playing Aes Sedai as except for my character we do not have any which means I will have to have the whole hunting party as NPCs. So do anyone else want to join this RPG?
Im interested, would love to get involved. Id happily play an Aes Sedai if any are needed, could be interesting as iv never written in the female perspective, if not Ill probably go Warder.
An Aes Sedai character would definitely be welcome since the basics of the story is a hunt for a male channeler and so far we only have one Aes Sedai character. Just write up a character and as soon he it is approved you can start posting.
