    Fallout: The Vast Wasteland [Reboot]

Check out the OOC for the story

    The Vast Wasteland

It's been a few days since Mr. Florence had sent out applications to various mercenaries, bounty hunters and other little thugs that may be able to pull his job off. He sits in his large pre-war hotel, living his the presidential suite and awaits all of them to come. All the applicants that would arrive would be directed to one of the meeting rooms in his hotel/casinos. There they would be served some refreshments and able to get to know each other before getting debriefed about what they would be doing.
The town of Serenity is calm and quiet, one of the few large settlements around the Vast Wasteland. It isn't as large as New Vegas but it is much larger than Megaton back in DC. Here people come to trade and sell. Serenity is in the perfect location to be the center of the caravan routes in the area. Here people come to buy various things from purified water to a vehicle. The large town is still being constructed so new homes are to be renovated. People that come here by vehicle do not have to fear for their transportation being stolen since the security of the town takes good care of it.

    The Meeting

Just outside of Serenity, Damien Frost arrived. He had his leather hood pulled up though the sun was starting to set in the west. If the newer calenders can be trusted it should be around August. Damien took out a half empty cigarette packet and placed one to his mouth and lit it with an old engraved lighter, an heirloom of his. He came to Serenity by the main road which had patrolling guards. He was asked a couple of questions like what his business was in Serenity. When he said that he was there to meet Mr. Florence and showed them the invitation, a special casino chip that was given to him by the messenger he had made contact with. The guard nodded to him and pointed at the building that Mr. Florence owned. They wouldn't have stopped Frost from entering the city, it was jut a formality for the guards to question some of the travelers.

By all rights, Mr. Florence owned Serenity. He was the great grandson of the founder of the city and the Florence family had made it one of the most thriving settlements from DC to California. NCR did not have any authority here though Mr. Florence has been known to make dealings with them and even one or two contracts from the Brotherhood of Steel back in DC. Mr. Florence was truly successful though there were rumors about this certain Florence, rumors which hinted at that he was the black sheep of the Florence Family, especially after this father's mysterious and sudden passing. No one dared though call out since Mr. Florence was the man in charge of the city. He was not known for being a deceiving man however, always following through his end of a bargain though he was known however for being a harsh man when cheated.

Frost exhaled the smoke slowly after the first drag of the cigarette and looked around. People went about their business and electric scooters driven by couriers for the city went back and forth. Most bars were opened 24/7 and so were strip clubs and brothels. Vehicles were not allowed in the city except for the scooters and the trucks that carried large supplies such as metals or Security Transport that did patrols within the city, mostly at night. Frost had never been in Serenity before and there for was surprised to see the rumored prosperity of the famed city with his own eyes. Frost was a wander, never really staying in one place for long. He made his living by hunting game around certain towns and around the wasteland and doing odd jobs for certain people. He walked past some closing stores such as a weapon shop and a tailor and even a cock fight before going coming to Mr. Florence's Casino. Like the bars the Casinos were open all night so going in was no problem though his weapons were confiscated.

After showing his invitation to one of the security guards one of them escorted him to the 5th floor where a meeting room was set up for the oncoming applicants for the scavening job. There refreshments were cared for, a table full of Purified water, wasteland fruit juice, beer and snacks.

(The armor that Serenity Security Guards wear are deep blue Combat Armors and their weapons range from Chinese Assault Rifles, Assault Carbines, Scoped Hunting Rifles and Combat Shotgun)

Walking into town Patrick read the small piece of crumpled up paper he had received a few days earlier. It was a letter from Mr Florence the basically the "leader" of serenity, a man who made his money off of others bad luck "just like uncle Moriarty" Patrick thought continuing down the cracked road to the entrance of serenity. When he received the letter Patrick would have thought it was a mistake if it wasn't for it using his exact name.He stopped just before the gate letting the "blues" look him over and let him in. once they where done patting him down they yelled up to a sentry who pulled a few levers causing the heavy scrap iron door open.Walking down the city streets Patrick passed all manner of businesses strip clubs brothels and other places of ill repute. In most of these when he passed the unmistakable smell of homemade liquor and cigarette smoke filled his nostrils.Walking past a alley a man came out wearing rags for clothes cracked skin "Please spare a cap?" The man said in a raspy voice.
Taking out a bottle cape which had a white and red incripiton Nuka-Cola and tossing it to the man who caught it in procedded to unendly thank patrick who responded in only in a nod.Patrick gave a sigh as he eyed the large sign signaling that mr florence's location was't too far away.Once again getting patted by the "blues" and getting his revolver and shotgun taken away patrick showed them a stratched up casino token . They then began to lead patrick into the casino hwich just like the bars had a strong scent of ciggarette smoke leading him past a number of table games and into a elevator which creaked as it took them up five floors and then giving a streeching stop. stepping out into the floor the gaurds lead him down a hallway and into a small boardroom where he spotted a immense number of snack and food worth a small fourtune in caps and sitting in the chair directly next to him was a man wearing a trench coat not unlike his own and a large body armor vest of some sorts and by the slightly astonished look on his face patrick suspected thsi was his frist time in serenity
"Hello, frist time in serenity eh? Its a little peice of heaven in this hell we live in."Patrick said trying to be scoiable

"♬ ...People passing by would stop and say Oh my, that little country boy could play, go go, go Johnny go go Go Johnny go go, go Johnny go go Go Johnny go go, Johnny B. Goode! ♬" A radio played... a radio in the middle of a trailer with a few pieces of clutter around. At one end was a kitchen with a door leading to a utility closet, while in the middle stood a bed with a glass screen door across the room, curtains with some patched holes in addition, both next to a door leading to the bathroom. In the middle of the bed, stood a bulge... a snoring bulge with one bare leg sticking out. Delilah eventually erupted out of sleep, still more groggy than ever. "Fucking shit, I need to get to that meeting." She said, tossing the blankets aside as her bare feet stepped on to the shag carpetting. Putting on some camaflouge pants with suspenders and a wifebeater, she put on a pair of boots and brushed her teeth with some baking soda. Lastly, she took off a hat from the coat rack and bestowed it on her head, adjusting it afterwards. It was the hat that her grandfather had passed to her father, a member of the Boomers hailing from New Vegas. Though growing up, she had only her mother to raise her after her father was shot dead by a bunch of thugs at age four.

Delilah stepped out on to the porch, walking over to the garage and opening its doors. She stepped inside and sat on the leather seat, ready to make her all-nighter in repairing it last night worth it. "Alright, babe... show me that horizon... just like when The King did all those years ago." She said, referring to Elvis himself, the king of rock and roll from hundreds of years ago. She kickstarted the hog, making it rev to its maximum and with a smug smirk on her face, she hauled ass towards Serenity. The highway her sea and the motorcycle her ship, she squinted her eyes, keeping a damaged plasma rifle with so little ammo she found off a dead caravan on the side of her motorcycle. "Well now, swing me, swing me all the way, darlin', come on lets go little darlin', lets go, lets go, lets go once more." She sang along with her Pip Boy attached to her arm, tuning its frequency to the radio station.

Slowing down once she got to Serenity, she parked the motorcycle aside since they weren't allowed inside the perimeter, once there she explained to the guards about her invitation to Mr. Florence's casino and the meeting and was allowed through. As she passed the town, she took a look towards the brothel and clicked her tounge. "I'll make a note to come back here later... been dying for a good time." She said to herself, walking up to the casino afterwards, then inside. "Alright, hotshots... make way, I'm here to see the big man himself." She said, showing her casino chip and turning in her plasma rifle as she walked in to the elevator, escorted, taking it to the fifth floor. Once in the meeting room, she made a pass around the table and sat down on one of the chairs, lounging one leg up on one of the chair's arms.

"Don't suppose either of you have a smoke on you... hm?" She asked the man in the LAPD armor and one in a trenchcoat. "By the way, what the hell are you supposed be? Matching twins?" She said, referring to the fact that they were both wearing trenchcoats.

    Shuzen~

Christopher Aurea Shuzen was in the city hours prior - But we will call him CAS for now. CAS was a young mutant classified as a neko, if anything, a neko was a mutant closest to being human right next in line with the ghouls. In a apartment, he had a nice supply of purified water as well as uncontaminated food. But these resources were not free, he worked for what he had, he was in the mercenary business afterall. In fact most jobs he did required sneaking behind enemy lines from specific parties. However he never worked with Talon Company mercenaries. He saw them all as incompetent trash that needed to be erased from the world.

He had arrived at the casino. Some of the security were expecting his presence, but that was okay, he was expecting them too - Nothing too fancy even for Mr.Florance, afterall, he never averted his eyes from the destination, he would avert his eyes from Deathclaws and giant insects though. But to be to the point, he entered and handed the weapons in his possession to the storage broker on the first floor, after which CAS went to the 5th floor, they were expecting him afterall, he would present himself to his clients. Upon entering he paid little attention to those around, he simply sat and listened attentively.

Damn, he hated to be without his guns, but the guards at the door of Florence's casino had insisted on taking them.
It was only the vague promise of untold loot and riches passed on to him from a strange traveler one weary night that allowed him to part with his revolver and shotgun. Thankfully they had let him keep the cigarette he had dangling from the corner of his mouth.
He offered courteous smiles to the scantily clad serving girls, wishing he had the time for them to take his order, but he had a schedule to keep.
That alone already made him uncomfortable.
Mason was a man who kept no time, a drifter who didn't tell the wind which way to blow, and as such it never pushed him in any particular direction.

Though even he would admit that his modest existence had begun to grow stale, and the allure of raided caravans just wasn't exciting him anymore. Now, a vault...there was a prospect! He had never found one before, only heard the gruesome and sinister tales, blown up in their recounting to legendary proportions.
Sure, he'd have to share his loot with a few grunts, but some of them were bound to die. Mason could quite possibly die too, but when was that ever an excuse to hang back?
He took the elevator up to the fifth floor, the guard inside grunting a lungful of second hand smoke which made Mason chuckle quietly under his breath.

He stepped into the meeting room, seeing that the party had already started.
A young man, shorter and slimmer than the others, looked to also be the youngest.
A woman, who gave off an air of confident detachment, which he found kind of endearing.
Two men, both with trench coats, both holding themselves in a way that suggested they had both faced some harsh demons and come out best.
They'd probably all live through this if they were any good at working together.

Mason strode toward the table, stubbing out his cigarette on the wooden surface and with the same hand picking up a piece of dehydrated mystery meat.
He tore a hunk off of it with vigor. He hadn't eaten for a long time and was starving hungry. Probably why he was so pale, as well as quite thin. He was healthy enough, but the drifter lifestyle left little room for decadent living.
"Well then," he began, his voice echoing lightly in the large hall, "They take your weapons away too?"

"Yes, this is my first time. I rather like smaller towns actually" Frost said to the Irishman that arrived and he looked over at the ones that were coming in. A woman, a cat mutant and another man. Frost shrugged his shoulders and pulled out a half empty cig pack and handed it to the woman as she asked for one. "Here ya go. Keep it" He said to the woman and got some snacks, waiting for their host to show his face.

He then looked over at the other newcomer, the other guy. "Yes, I believe it is a policy in every casino here that has a ton of caps and the owner doesn't want trigger happy wastelanders to get too interested in it" He told him about the question about the weapons

"Thank you kindly, friend." She said, giving a smug grin that seemed like if it was coming off sarcastically, but was actually her trademark personality. Delilah took out her ashtray, naked woman engraved on the front and lit a cigarette she pulled out of the carton. Clenching the cigar between her teeth, she lounged back and puckered her lips as she exhaled a puff of smoke. "So... I assume I'm working with all of you on this little contract, eh?" She said, scratching her nose as she started around the room, feeling a bit awkward. She quickly shrugged it off, observing everyone like a snake oil salesman keeping note of the suckers he cons. "Seems like this isn't exactly a... kindergarten situation if he's hiring the quickest shots... the roughest brutes... the slimiest scumbags... like me." She said with a bit of a wheeze in a humorous manner. "We're just gonna have to see what cards are laid on the table. Speaking of which... where's our dear old friend now?"

Chris merely crossed one leg over the other as he took a seat and looked at the women. "Well, I think he will merely send a guy to do all the talking... a big shot would not show himself to mercenaries that are up for a job worth as much as mentioned in the invitation. Like really.... If anyone accepted, they are very stupid... or really brave... only a smart person would really try to prepare, which is why he will give access to a rare weapon arsenal... Just strategy- All you need. Thankfully I have my PipBoy to help me obtain information- Like surroundings. Things like that.." He went silent henceforth as he observed the area with his perceptive eyes. He felt like within moments some suited man would come out to give them the big order and say what exactly they are hired to do. But business was business.

Placing his weapons in a lock box Jacob made his way into the Casino, grinning like a school boy as he walked past the serving girls. It had been a long time since the Ex-Knight had been in a city this size. Not since Ronto a few years back, he shivered at the thought, he had seen a lot of weird shit up North.
Stepping into the Elevator he pressed the button to the 5th floor, his right hand resting on his empty holster, he felt naked, even in full combat armor.
Stepping out of the elevator and into the meeting room with a small spring to his step, the man needed work.
"Well, what do we have here?" He asked, while his voice had a rough edge it was obvious he grew up in an educated environment, "This is our merry band of thieves?"
His eyes scanned the room, mainly checking to see if anyone bore the emblem of the Bear, Bull, or even the Enclave.
