    Strange Encounters Kap'n-inuyashachick

Bow's Hill is something of a budding metropolis. Businessmen go about their days in the inner city, going from meeting to meeting, living their lives of money. On the north-ward outskirts of the city lie what's universally known as the ghetto; gangs fight over their turf daily, and the police force refuses to do anything about it. The south-ward neighborhood is much more liberal. Neighborhood Watches abound, and everyone looks after one another. The east and west are both somewhat transitory neighborhoods, with elements of the violence-riddled gangs, and of the happy-go-lucky south-siders. Nearly all elements of modern life can be found somewhere in the city. Even those that aren't quite from the same world.
The Plane is a realm of elementals, some would call demons. There are four breeds of these elementals, all warring with their opposite clan. The Salamanders, bathed in fire, hate the Undines of water with a passion. Likewise, the Gnomes of earth have long fought with the Sylph of the breezes. These demons almost always stay within their own realms, leaving only to raid their enemy. Sometimes, however, an elemental will be cast from The Plane, for reasons no being can be sure of. Fate, perhaps, or the unluckiness of the individual. These demons will fall to the world of the living, and live for sometime, generally hating absolutely everything about their existence.
There is an organization, their origins, membership, and even name unknown to the world, who knows of the existence of The Plane. They, also, have managed to contact The Plane, albeit crudely. They know where and when a demon is cast from The Plane, and they have taken it upon themselves to shepherd the fallen ones out of the mortal world, whether they wish it or not. They have been active for centuries, possibly longer, and are exceedingly efficient at their job.
Today was a rainy day in Bow's Hill, but it would hold wonder not seen in decades. Wonder, and trouble for an organization who calls themselves G.U.A.R.D. or Gods Under Automatic Redirection or Destruction. Gods referring to the ancients' idea of the elementals of The Plane, who would appear mysteriously.

Today had been like any other within the city for Gisele, she served people at the coffee shop that were more likely then none in to much of a hurry to enjoy life while others exchanged gosip through text messages. The young woman however was running around the coffee shop taking orders out and cleaning off tables, this had been her life for the past few years now but she never wanted to go back to her old one. So many things haunted her about her old life that she knew she could never go back anyway. Once her shift was over she pulled her long brown hair out of the bun it was pinned up in and let it flow freely as she sighed looking at the clock. She knew there was nothing or no one waiting for her back home so she took her time as she stepped out of her work throwing her headphones on as she listened to music. Little did she know that although today seemed normal it was far from it.

Cephius was lounging in his home, bathed about in flames, and decorations that looked like fire. Clearly, Cephius was a man who loved his element as a Salamander. Just as he was fully relaxed, however, a loud banging and wooshing disturbed him, and his home was gone, replaced by a falling sensation, and quickly passing lights. For the first time in aeons, Cephius was scared; he had no idea what was happening, or where he would end up, or if he would even be alive when he got there. Looking down, which was now somehow up - or he was now falling upside-down - and there was quickly something coming towards him. Ground, or something like that. It was full of lights. Whatever it was, Cephius was preparing to meet it head-on. As the thing grew nearer, Cephius recognized it as one of the human cities, and he unwillingly turned back over, so he was falling feet-first. The closer he got, the slower his descent went, until he landed softly on his feet, in the middle of a hard pathway, with some strange markings painted on it. Behind him, there as a fierce bellowing; he turned to meet the twin eyes of some massive metal beast, which he barely dodged in time. He was starting to get his bearings of this strange city, and looking around, saw signs telling him he was in the east. Walking along the side of the middle path, on a raised, lighter-colored path that humans were walking along. Eventually, he came upon a building with humans inside, laughing and talking, drinking some kind of black beverage. As good a place as any to contemplate what the hell happened. He walked in, taking a seat.

When she was about halfway home Gisele reached into her pocket to reach for her keys, the moment her hand hit the bottom of her pocket and felt nothing she stopped dead in her tracks. There was no way that she had forgotten her keys at work again, with her mind being all over lately she would not have been suprised. Turning around she walked back to the coffee shop and into ths back room where her keys rested on the desk, a sigh of relief escaped her as she picked them up. As she was on her way back out again someone had their foot sticking out from their table and she had not seen it causing herself to trip into someone else's lap. "I am so sorry it was an accident." She stated as her heart raced and her face went red with embarsement.

Cephius was still contemplating his situation when suddenly, a human female tripped, and landed in his own lap. Immediately repulsed, he stood up, not hearing the female's pleas for forgiveness.
"What in the nine hells?! Watch where you're going, damn it!"
Cephius turned and walked out the door, going to find himself a more private place to figure out what's going on. After an hour or two of walking, Cephius got an odd feeling. He was being watched. He ducked into alleys and corners where he could, eventually finding himself at a dead end. Turning around, there were several large men in suits, looking him up and down. They were saying some things about money, and what he had in his pockets. Clearly, petty criminals, that deserved to be incinerated. Cephius threw out his hand, attempting to bathe them in flames; alas, due to the lack of fire around him, Cephius' powers were lackluster, to say the least. A spark flew from his hand, landing halfway between he and his assailants. The men drew knives, and Cephius thought he was in for a brawl. As he was getting ready to tustle, a lit match fell from an apartment balcony above. Cephius would not let this opportunity pass him by. He caught the match mid-flight, and ran his hand over the flame, absorbing what little power it had to give, and converted it into a fireball that stunned the suited men. Leaving nothing to chance, Cephius immediately bolted out of the alley, back towards the coffee shop he'd left earlier.

    *******

Commander Oliver, his G.U.A.R.D. emblem shining in the sun, watched the alley through a pair of binoculars. At first, he was afraid they'd been wrong about this one. But, as Oliver saw a fireball erupt from the target, there was no more doubt, and he picked up his radio.

Oliver here. Elemental confirmed. Clan Salamander.
