If you're looking to get started nice and quickly, I'd recommend reading up on the Guild's Guide. It should answer most of your questions.

Have you been to the interest checks? That's where we keep the new and recruiting RPs. Most people start of in casual or free depending on how much they like to write. I believe Free has a faster pace too which might suit you. Here are the links.
