    Looking for a fight

    So, this is my first interest check in the fighting section. I am kind of new to this aspect of rpping but figured I would like to train my fighting skills a bit.

    What I am looking for is just a regular 1x1 that still keeps things realistic. For those that have watched the anime Samurai Champloo, something along that line, it can be a bit over the top or flash y but still relatively realistic.

    So if there are any experienced fighters out there who wouldn't mind teaching me a bit in different aspects of fighting, you are most welcome to post in here. =)

    So Mana, based on what you said either T1 UM or T1 MP is the type of fight you are looking for. You said you want to learn different aspects. If you can learn T1 RM, everything builds on that. Once you can "see" a fight and understand it, i.e moves, counters and traps, magic and exotics are just added layers on top of the basic CQB that most fights falls into.

    T1 RM= T1 Realistic Melee. This is the Style that is human against human. With real-life limitations. {e.g. Human capabilities of running, jumping, reaction-time, body integrity, vision, ect.} Ex: Street fighting.

    T1 UM= T1 Unrealistic Melee. This is the Style that is an above average human against human that are capable of using things such as Magic attack, Sorcery, Vampirism, Garou. Ex: Underworld.

    T1 MP= T1 Moderate Powers. This is the Style that is commonly used now as a more realistic look towards T1 PC. The characters that have special powers, just not ones that have a power that is capable of destroying an entire planet. Powers such as elemental abilities are acceptable, but if there is a power that is capable of using all elements you must keep that power in a moderate use. Ex: Bleach, and Naruto.
    The writer who cares more about words than about characters, action, setting, and atmosphere is unlikely to create a vivid and continuous dream; he gets in his own way too much; in his poetic drunkenness, he can't tell the cart- and its cargo- from the horse.

    glory before he dies: that lives on
    after him, when he lifeless lies."

    Ah thank you for the explanation, I never knew such discinctions existed.

    Yes, what I am looking for would most likely be categorized as T1 MP since it would be more anime based. I think another good example of that would be Avatar the tv series.
    As for T1 RM. I have to admit I don't know that much about realistic fights since I have never done any martial arts myself and never ventured deeper in any of fighting style other than the basics. But since everything else builds on realistic fighting, of course it would be thrilling to learn that instead.

    If you're on for a 2v1 T1 MP, I'm up for it.

    T1 RM is much like real world martial arts, it is comprised of movement that lead to angles of attack and defense. What if any textual fighting experience do you have? Even if it was a throw away fight in an RP. I ask because everyone has varying degrees of text fighting experience and knowledge bases to work from. It makes it easier to see what foundation you have and what to build up.

    @Boost Would love to. ^^

    @Skall
    The movements necessary to create opportunities to attack are a major aspect that I would like to focus on, as well as countering or swiftly switching from defense into offense.
    As for my actual textual experience. I have had some MP based fights but nothing too fancy. Still, I think I could stand my ground on a casual level and would love to focus on more in depth material. I like to think I know the basics but since I have developed them only by reading other fights, of course I can't be ebtirely sure of that.

    Still, I doubt I am a total beginner.

    Alright. I can help you learn the basics of CQB, and from that you can incorporate the other elements as you wish. If this is acceptable to you we can start. Just generic characters; Sex, height, weight and some description of appearance. You really don't need much more than that because you're learning.

    I am not ignoring your request for a 2v1 Boost but I would rather go through a training session to get the basics down before moving on to a more chaotic situation.

    Alright sounds great to me, thank you. =)
    As for the character, shoud we do this here or create a new ooc thread? Also, one more question, should we do this bare handed or with weapons?

    I will make the thread, we can continue to use this as an OOC if you wish. Melee or empty handed is your choice I can do either. Are you familiar with the T1 Eden era rules set? That is what we will use as it provides the flexibility needed to teach properly.

    Some things you should be aware of; First posts are introductory posts, usually describing the setting and characters, the characters take their stances in this post. I will make notations during our fight in the text body to help you see what I am doing, and why I am doing it. Fair?

    Okay no problem, I will post my character here then. And no, can't say I have ever heard of the T1 Eden era rules, sorry.

    Sure, thank you.^^
    And out of curiosity, are you practicing martial arts in rl, if I may ask?

    Name: Mana
    Sex: F
    Height: 164cm
    Weight: 54kg
    Appearance: Regular and comfy clothes. A green shirt and blue sweatpants. White skin tone and semi long black hair that is tied into a pony tail.
    Weapons: A japanese sword and a wooden staff.

    This is very basic really.
