Help with a game I'm making

Hello,

This website was suggested so that I could get help with a game I'm developing. So far, out of the 3 other websites I've posted to I've only ever gotten one reply, but no help.

First let me apologize to any admins, I'm NOT trying to advertise for any other website, but I don't see anyway to upload my file here, but another rpg forum has my file attached. So, you see what I'm getting at?

You can download my file there. It's only 141kb or so in a .rar file. It's perfectly safe, but if you're worried about a bug you can open .rar files safely without extracting the contents and view what's in it.

I try to keep all my stuff in .html format for ease of navigation, but occasionally I'll use something else like a .txt file or .doc maybe. Read the readme, I'm fairly certain that the majority of initial questions a person might have is answered in the readme. If it's not in the readme then it's in the game files. Of course, I'm sure someone might have a question not already answered, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.


I should mention, I don't have internet access at home, my boss (I'm a live in Butler) won't get internet at home. She's kind of anti-technology, which is cool cause I am as well to some extent,,,except I really like my computer. I only mention this because I use the 'net at the library and I can't always get to the library, which further means I may not be able to reply back very fast, and even when I do reply I may not have time to answer or converse with everyone that might have questions. Which hopefully, someone will take an interest in my material.

I have no delusions that my game will ever sell, however, if it does whether PnP format or MMORPG like I originally intended, everyone that makes a meaningful contribution to the game that actually gets used in the final product will get a fair share of any profit. That is my word.

A casual "what do you think so far" for starters.

My biggest problem is I'm not good at embelishing things. I'm trying to make it sound like everythings coming from the book of a renowned historian but I'm a more of "just the facts" type of person. You'll see what I mean on several items.
Example, check out the GCN page, it starts out embelished but I can't keep track of my thoughts when I'm trying to make it look pretty so I switched to a "just the facts" style. Actually, I don't remember if the GCN page is updated on this version.

Anyway, every 4 days I try to upload an update when I actually add new stuff. When I just improve on stuff I don't upload an update unless I've added new stuff,,, if that makes sense.

If people want to know what I'm specifically looking for in terms of help.

My late wife used to call herself my "stylist". I can write all day long,,, but it looks like crap, she used to make my writing pretty and coherent.
I need someone that can spew out techno babble as fast as I can. I have no delusions of accuracy, if it sounds good, then it's good.
I also need someone that can spot where I contradict myself. YOu'll see in the readme that I've been working on this game for a very long time and I inevitably forget stuff and contradict myself.

So a "stylist", a "geek", and an "editor". Really I'll take any help I can get. I encourage people to run with ideas, I'll try to lay out the framework of the gameworld and anyone and everyone can add to it as they please.

I'll be more than willing to help! I'll send you some things in a private message later tonight when I get some free time. A love a good idea. If you want, I can rewrite a portion to how you would like it to sound and we can go from there?

Sounds good, whatever you want. I THINK you should be able to get a feel for what I'm shooting at by reading a few pages. I'm sure I'll like what you do.

Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but I would think links from roleplaygateway are alright with RPG staff. After all, at one time, roleplaygateway was affiliated with roleplayerguild.

No updates today, I have been making some changes,mainly on the playable races, fleshing out culture, minor histories, the "Big 4" of the Saurian Clans. Anyone know of a 3d drawerering program like 3d max that actually works and is free?


I've got a wild hair to do some renderings of some generic racial ships. All the different races use a specific style of ship. Like, the Cerians use a vertical boomerang type of ship (for lack of a beter descriptor). I used to have an,,, ahhh,,,, aquired version of 3ds max from college. I wasn't good with it, but I still liked to play with it. Unfortunately it didn't work on Vista and at the time I switched to Vista I was looking at a job at Bethsoft and I didn't want them to find out I had any pirated software so I dumped everything I even remotely thought was pirated, included a legitimate install of Win2k from school.


(OH yeah, I didn't get the job, they went with someone with a fancier degree, but who actually failed their pre-employment skills test, who'da thunk it, a higher level degree is more valuable than actual skill. I have an Associates, he had a Bachelors of somethin' or other.)


Anyway, I digress.


So still no questions or comments? I've got 1 hour and 9 minutes left today at the library as of this post. So I'll keep checking back.
