The city blared by crowded streets, endless stream of pedestrians, the artificial lights and sounds of man-made structures. The city never sleeps. It's a forever-awake giant of steels and concretes, forever sustained by the thousands and thousands of energies provided through the miles-long coppers covering the entire nation.

169 is their number. Only through their fate that ours can stay.

The boy looked at the city with amazed eyes. It was just a city, something similar to where he'd live in the past, but it just had to have a different sense to it. Different scent. Different feel. Different...something. Something rose up the boy's adrenaline, keeping his excitement fired up for seconds, minutes, hours.

169 is their number.
169 is our sacrifice.
Infinite is our enemies.
To win, is to dream...

"Sleep well, have a good night..."

The boy waved his hands, as the sky started to gather its dark clouds.

"Okay, okay, okay I'm coming stop yelling at me Jules!" The young red head yelled out as her friend started pushing her towards the exit. They were planning to go on a birthday party, and get themselves some action, only the unfortunatly to them, the party didn't worked out as good as they thought it will. Some guys went drunk and started having a fight. Finally it ended with someone getting stabbed and another getting their shoulder dislocated so the girls simply fleed the scene when they could. Aila walked her friend back to her home as she started walking towards her own little condo that was not so far away from there.

Aila was a still a student. She was learning in the Medical University of Chicago and had only two more years of internship untill she'll become a doctor. Sometimes she had a pretty busy life but most of the time she found herself some time to have fun. But lately she's been feeling a bit off, especially when she was alone... As if something was following her, but when she looked around there wasn't anybody there. She decided to just be easygoing to it and figure it was just her pure imaganation. What she didn't know was that what was following her was a very dangerous creature, that didn't come in peace.

Nothing had happened so far, and it made him bored. More like, he didn't really have anything to do or to reach in this place. No destination, no reason, nothing. He got money, but he doubted it would be enough for a month or less. He needed to do something. Find work, maybe, else he wouldn't be able to survive the next winter.

...like he'd care about that. The boy jumped to a nearby steel fence, sitting on it as he watched the world around him unfold itself. It would be an understatement to call him a boy; he had the face of someone who'd, at least, seen the harshness of the world. However, it was true that his age wouldn't allow people to call him a real man. 19...20...21 would be the most for him. Not like it was a strange thing to do for teenagers to move on their own to start life...however, what he did wasn't simply stretching his life to "taste" the world. He was there, alone, with no one to back him up. Such a burden on a small shoulder could break them to pieces.

His young face held no worries about that. His eyes sparkled with amusement as he watched pedestrians came and go around the street. People paid no attention to him. For them, he's just another street kid out for a night. Although, his oriental face was something out of ordinary in that part of the city.

The feeling appeared. Something he'd been really familiar with. He tried to pinpoint its exact location, but failed. However, he knew that it was nearby.

"...at least it won't be boring anymore," he smirked and jumped off, roaming the street once more.

Aila couldn't take it anymore. As she was walking around she kept feeling as if someone was spying on her. Rolling her eyes she turned around as her grey eyes showed determination."Okay! Who the hell is there? Show yourself and stop being such a coward!" She yelled out as she bit on her lower lip and looked around to see if anything unsual happens around her. But, nothing happened. She sighed a bit and pouted, seeing a few older ladies that glanced at the redhead as if she was crazy. She rolled her eyes once more and then turned around.

"...What-The-Hell?" She gulped down as she glanced at a huge creature that was standing right in front of her. His huge eye blinking and glancing at her before it grabbed to her waist and picked her up as if she was some sort of an object."H-hey! What're you doing!? What the hell!??!?!?" She gasped and pricked her eyebrows yelling out. Unfortunatly there was no one out there. Even the old ladies from before left. The ugly cyclop stuffed a finger to her mouth so she won't be able to yell as it started to walk off along with her.

Aila started kicking and squirming around in the monsters hand, her eyes teared a bit from fear. She tried to bite the creatures finger however with no use.

Dimension is invisible to mortal eyes. Nay, perhaps even to Gods above. However, at that moment everything changed. It's not that everyone wasn't there; everyone was there, but without any sign of life, they're nothing but blurred backgrounds, devoid of individuality. The world changed entirely. Within that sphere of change, the only thing moving was the giant colossus...and the girl on its grasp.

Will there be someone to help her? The world gave no reply as she squirmed and thrashed and struggled to escape from its clutch. Except for one. One who defied the will of this world.

"Let her go," the man named Kyuu Wolfheim was now standing right in front of the colossus. A mischievous smile fashioned his face. Did he clicked something on the colossus' mind? Soon it opened its hand which was just now holding the girl close. In an instant it formed them into knuckles, which was now heading right on the man's face!

Fortunately he managed to dodge it in the nick of time...or was it? He leapt up to the air, still smirking toward the beast. "Too slow, old man," he spewed out his tongue as a sign of mockery, however suddenly he stopped when the beast raised his hand once more, faster than expected.

"Uh oh..." before he could do anything, the knuckles connected and sent him flying right on toward the concrete wall. The impact left giant crater on its side.

Finished with him, the beast returned its sight toward its original prey. Its hand started to reach toward the girl...

"Hm?" The redhead turned around and watched as the guy approached there. At least somebody came for her. But was it good or bad? Minutes after the young looking man scolded the huge monster, she suddenly felt falling. She thrashed and squirmed about before landing on something soft and... feathery? Soon enough she was on the ground, looking around as she didn't see anything odd. Well, other than the gynormous cyclope that just now shoved the man from before into a wall was now heading to her direction.

Aila gasped as she started to run away from the creature, hoping it won't capture her."H-Help! Somebody?!?!" She yelled out, but nobody called back. The cyclope was just about to grab her again as a reddish feathered creature appeared in front of her. The redheads eyes widened as she glanced at the bird, thinking she completely lost it. The bird scowled and then with a flip of one wing managed to swipe the cyclop back to the other dimension. When it was finished its simply disappeared into the thin air, as if there was nothing there, and all that was left from it was a longsword.

Aila blinked as she looked shocked at where the large bird just stayed. Her grey eyes drifted down to glance at the sword as she felt drawn to it, as if it was calling her. Slowly she approached it and picked it up, before remembering the guy from before. Gasping she rushed towards him and crouched beside him."hey! You're okay??" She asked worried as she checked if he had any pulse.

The girl's voice woke Kyuu. His body hurts, although not too fatal. The dimension had changed back to normal, as everything around them, including time, resumed their fluid, fast-paced movements. The giant creature was gone, although he didn't know why. He blinked with disbelief.

"Oh wow, he's gone...what did you do?" He glanced toward the woman he'd tried to save. And then, toward the sword on her hand. That's something which made him remembering something, as if a switch was clicked on his mind. Yes, it was...so that was how...He remembered that she could move within the creature's Sphere. "That" could only be the reason.

"I see, so you're also one of us...hahaha, that's amusing. So you're the source of this feeling, huh?" He jumped right away, forgetting his pain. That was nothing compared to the excitement rushing inside his body. "Nice to meet you, comrade. My name is Kyuu. Kyuu Wolfheim. Just pronounce it like that letter after 'P'." The boy extended his opened palm, offering a handshake.

Theyoung redhead sighed in a relief when she saw that the guy was fine. Good, at least he didn't get hurt. Or so she thought. He started speaking about some odd things. That she belonged to them? That she was one of them? Who the hell were they? Maybe the guy wasn't fine after all.. Probablly got hit hard on the head. She shook his hand and then smiled softly."I'm Aila Hammerdock.. But what're you talking about exactly? And do you have any idea what the hell was this big creepy creature?!?!?!" She asked slightly panicking.

Then she turned around to see the sword."There was this huge Red bird , like, really really really realllly big!" She said and spread her arms to emphasize how big the bird was."And it flapped it's wing making the cyclop or whatever it was to fly away into some place god knows where and.. and.. and.." She gasped and took a breathe. She was so confused, having no idea whatsoever on what just happened.

The boy couldn't help his grin as she frantically explained things. He couldn't comprehend it entirely, but he kind of understood the big part. Only...that one about the bird...could it be that she didn't know about 'it' yet? More importantly...

"Hey, that part about the bird swinging it away..." his expression grew grim. "You mean that you didn't kill it?"

A loud roar was heard on the street, and once more the sky grew darker. Everything else stopped moving, even time, leaving the boy and the girl alone in that 'world'. It was the same feeling as before, the same silence blanketing the world like plague. And now, it returned. The giant was humanoid, with size rivaling nearby buildings. It was bigger than before, and clearly was angry toward them. Kyuu clenched his fist upon its sight.

"It's back. With vengeance. Oh well, at least I'm ready for it now. Take your sword!" The boy stretched his arms to his side, ignoring the twitching pain he still felt on his body. "I summon thee, o blades of destruction!" on each top side of his hands appeared four daggers shaping themselves as if fans, hovering just atop his skin. One last blade appeared in front of him, which he took by his right hand. The blades spewed flame, which didn't hurt him even a bit, but that was it. The unknown steel was now cold and unyielding.

"Okay...now let's get started," he flashed a mischievous grin to Aila before dashing toward the monster.

Aila looked around as the sky around her turned black again. "Whats going on?" She asked with slight hasitation in her voice. Then, a groan. Holy crap. She turned her head only to see that monster from before, only bigger, and a lot more angry. Gulping down she stumbeled back and then she glanced at the younger man raising her eyebrow as four blades apeared out of nowhere and he launched.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Aila asked confused by the whole deal. What on earth was this thing?! Was she still high from the party? No it couldn't be, she didn't drink that much. She grabbed her sword and glanced at it. On the blade there was a carved piece in the form of a pheonix, just like the one before, and as she touched it, it flew outwith a screech.

Aila's eyes widened again and she gulped."...Attack?" she asked as she glanced at the fire bird confused before she felt herself starting to run towards the monster, with the sword, slicing and slashing through the thin air.
