OOC - How Did We Get Here? Chapter 1

The Idea:
Your day had been normal enough, you had gone to work or filled your day with idle thoughts but above all it had been perfectly normal. So you had gone to bed with no idea that you would not wake up in it. Instead when you open your eyes you are greeted with the most unusual sights and sounds, you can see trees and hear the clicks and grunts of wildlife. As you raise your head you become aware that you are surrounded by other people and that they seem to be as confused as you are. In the center of the small wooded glade there is a case a chest, its contents are unknown at the moment but the message ripped into it is very clear, it merely reads 'SURVIVE'!


The world:
Tuesday, Spring, 2013. The new year had gone fairly normally for everyone, the price of fuel continued to rise, politicians lied, 'celebrities' continued to dominate the headlines but above all the world kept spinning. However there are secrets all over the world and it is one of these secrets that will change your life forever, you will not leave as the same person as you were when you were brought to the island. Some may not live to see the next day but above all the world will keep spinning.....

Character Sheet:
Name:What are they called?
Age: How old are they?
Physical Description: This can be a picture or a description.
Mentality: What is their mental state? Are they calm and collected or panicky and nervous? How do they react? How do they think?
Occupation: What did they do day to day?
Skills: Name a few skills that you think would set your character apart from some of the others. Have they fished since they were children or do they love to draw? Can they understand any other languages? It can be anything as long as it fits.
Items: List of no more than four items that your character would not leave the house without.
Biography: Tell us a little about your characters, detail would be appreciated but isn't a necessity.

No magic magic. What I mean by that is your character can know about occult things like tarot cards, ESP and other things of that ilk. So no fireballs or cones of cold .... yet. Mwhahahahaaha just keeping everyone guessing.

Name: Kriska Sollenberger
Age: 22
Physical Description: short-cropped dark hair, small build, tanned
Mentality: determined and easily excited. always exudes strength and calm even when she is breaking down inside or being very happy about something
Occupation: travel writer
Skills: rock climbing, writing, mastered 6 languages (English, Dutch, Afrikaans, German, Chinese, Indian) and a smattering of other Asian languages, did not finish college
Items: swiss knife, pen and notebook, phone, wallet
Biography: Kriska grew up in South Africa with her Dutch parents where she began climbing rocks and cliffs as she chased after spider monkeys. Soon, she was climbing competitively and became a 4-peat winner of the IFSC World Championships before she stopped competing to focus on her studies, only climbing for recreation. She started college at Lancaster University for Creative Writing where her friend hooked her up with a gig in writing. Her boss was impressed and offered her the job and she quickly decided to go drop out of her degree and pursue her travel writing career, where she was assigned in Asia for 2 years.

Age: 22
Physical Description: This can be a picture or a description.
Mentality: if we can't blow it up, kill it or burn it and it is not something that will help me survive than I don't know what to do. also is extremly paranoid
Occupation: flame thrower in the US army
Skills: zombie survivalist, wilderness survivalist, < explosives, flamethrower, M16 rifle, hand gun, and, combat knife >> expert
Items: Pistol(one extra clip), wallet, combat knife, food + water and basic survival kit (that covers most any thing from zombies to world war three or simply being lost in the wilderness)
Biography: grew up learning how to survive just about anything anywhere (also was a boy scout), he joined the army at 18 and has only been in a few skirmishes.

@pyrak: I am happy for your guy to be a soldier, however you have tried to stack the deck in your favour. You can have 'military training' as a skill and that will encompass the survival training and weapons use. Also you can't say your character walks out the house with an assault rifle, a flame thrower and full survival kit. However the last part is partly myself for not explaining myself properly and saying that it would be what they would carry on their person in their pockets or a handbag. Also if you are going to be a trained soldier will need more in through way of a bio.

@kishiseta: happy with your character. However you need to replace the rope with something more mundane. Happy with the notepad and pen. Once you have made the item change you will be good to go. You also just need to edit the CS to remove the duplicate stuff.

when you say house I interpreted as tent or wherever he is parked for the night and both his gun and flamer have limited ammo and I'll change the CS in the morning (for me).

Character Sheet:
Name: Mr. Crandall Vicksen

Age: 19

Physical Description: Due to him being the only white boy in an all black school, Crandall wore black clothing and a mask closely related to the look of a scarecrow.

Mentality: Shy and Quiet are two noticeable traits of this individual. He is also very observant, very talkative if the situation deems it worthy, and is locked up like a safe from what he remembers of his childhood.

Occupation: Became a business man after 3 years in College.

Skills: Never Understood Technology, fighting in the school fight club gave him decent wrestling and fighting skills, Natural immunities to few blood transmitted diseases (Due to being born into a family that had been eating Human Flesh for thousands of years), athletic from playing the sports at school, and loves to go for walks on the beach (for all the lady characters out there, jk).

Items: Briefcase, Umbrella, Newspaper, and cup of coffee.

Biography: Mr. Crandall Vicksen was adopted from his family after they had been deemed unfit to raise a child at the age of 14. He was raised with his new mother and father, of African Ethnicity. His step father was a business man and his mother a stay at home mom. His mother being the intelligent woman she was helped him with his school work and never approved of his mask. She always had the fear that she was going to get her throat cut by Crandall due to his religion, but it never happened due to Crandalls unconditional love for her. His Father would take him to work during the summers where he would get hands on experience with business. He made friends with his dad's coworkers and they payed for his scholarship to get into the College in London. While in London at the age of 17 graduating early because of his smarts and spare time. While in London he met a girl who he fell in love with. They maintained a relationship for 11 months. The he learned that while she was visiting her parents in Germany, She was in a car crash. The crash killed three: The driver of the other car, a drunk, and her and her sister. The death of her hit Crandall hard. His friends he had in school comforted him the best they could, but the only thing that Crandall could think of was Graduating College. The only thing that he could use to get his mind off her. When he graduated, not only did his step parents arrive but somehow his biological family had found him as well. His real parents in private requested him to return home. He denied their request and returned home with his step parents where he got a job from his father. He has been working there ever since. His mask only comes off when he's alone, in the bathroom, or one time in front of his now deceased girlfriend. His mask is water resistant so when he swims, he swims with it on.
