Check out the Guide if you'd like some info about how the site is set up. Using the Ask a Comrade thread and/or private messaging a Comrade is a good option if you feel the need to ask some specific questions about things related to the site.

Also, you seem to have already realized this but I feel it's worth a mention. Using darkly colored text on the dark grey background is somewhat painful to look at and hard to read. Customizing your posts is all well and good, but try to stick to the lighter colors if you want people to read them and not complain.
