I tried this roleplay out on the Minecraft Forums, and, although it garnered interest, it failed early out of the gate. As such, I decided to give it a try here. I hope you enjoy!

The Return of the GLA:By the year 2020, a massive terror organization named the GLA (Global Liberation Army) had made the world fear its name. Even nations such as China and the United States feared it greatly, and, at one point, it even controlled parts of Easterb Europe, despite being based in Kazakhstan. They had singlehandedly toppled nearly any semblance of government in the Middle East, even deploying Anthrax strains as their most powerful weapons, causing millions of deaths across the world. After more than five years of the most vicious conflict seen since the Second World War, the GLA was finally thought to be defeated, though the world would be proven sorely mistaken. By this time, the GLA knew their available strains of Anthrax would be almost useless, as many measures had been taken against Anthrax in developed countries, some even distributing vaccines. Many nations and pharmaceutical companies also rushed to be the first nations to develop RNAi and nanotechnologies, both believed to be the closest things to miracle cures humanity might find.
Attack on the HTTR Plant:On the eve of July 4th, 2025, China experienced a vicious terrorist attack by a renewed GLA. Somehow, the GLA had taken a supervisor of the HTTR nuclear plant under their wing, and, at 6:30 PM, this man entered the plant, never to leave again. Twenty minutes after entering the plant, alarms blared across the complex. The plant was melting down at an exponential rate, and, somehow, the redundancies they had put in place were utterly inoperative. By this time, the supervisor in question had committed suicide, the plant experiencing a total meltdown about one hour later. At this point, primary containment had been breached in all reactors, and the secondary domes around the reactors were near their breaking point, eventually breached by multiple internal hydrogen explosions. Radiation immediately began to "leak" into the surrounding area, eventually blanketing Beijing before the entire city could be totally evacuated. With severe radiation poisoning blanketing much of Northeastern China, the GLA had achieved its goal. Though the majority of the Chinese government had survived, the GLA had caused enough damage to China and had made it more than clear to the world that something was going on.
The Worldwide Response:Almost immediately, any country which worked closely with China went on high alert, the US and the EU in particular, they and China having headed the war on the GLA. Various European nations, along with the US, assigned increased security to all incoming boats, flights, and land vehicles that international tourism almost ground to a complete halt (As with most other nations which could manage such). With such a deadly attack having taken place only five years after the GLA vanished, they thought they were finally safe, that the war was over. They were wrong.
The GLA Presses on:The GLA soon once again revealed itself to and unsuspecting populace, multiple smaller attacks and attempted attacks occurring across the world. Within months, GLA cells had ingrained themselves into the politics of the Middle East; the date was April 1, 2025, three days after the attack on the HTTR nuclear plant, and the second GLA war had begun. Dozens of nations across the world began to mobilize their strongest, best, and brightest, rushing to prepare themselves for the coming conflict and the pain and misery that was to follow.
Welcome to "A World in Flames". Now, while this RP is based upon CnC Generals, I encourage you to press on whether you've played the game or not. I've tried to make this as enjoyable to both newbies and veterans of the short-lived series, so please, continue reading. As for the type of RP this is, it will largely be based around the nations and terrorist groups of the world, though single characters can certainly make an impact, as there is no concrete plot. This RP is considerably sandbox-y, as it allows you to take on any number of roles (excluding animals and extraterrestrials), and allows for the RP to last as long as the players allow it. While I do have sequels planned for this RP, their design will rely entirely on the fate of this roleplay.
Rules:
Each rule below counts for one infraction. If you recieve Three infractions, your characters and nations will be destroyed. Four, and you will be banned.
1.No one-liners. At a minimum, try to shoot for at least five sentences in each of your posts, but more is preferred.
2. To join this RP, your understanding of the English language must be at a point where the other people in this RP and understand you. If you choose to use a foreign language to provide "flavor", you must provide a translation.
3.Character names must be in context. For example, I don't want to see an Arabic character who is named Johhny Henderson unless you have a good reason for it.
4. No godmodding. Sections of posts which include noticeable god modding will be ignored.
5. Your characters may only use knowledge they have access to. In other words, no metagaming.
6. Avoid OOC racism and insults. Any argue nets you have with another player should be brought to me.
7. The use of magic and/or gods in the RP will result in rapeage by Uncel Dolan.
8. Mary sue-ism will result in Uncel Dolan paying you a visit.
9. Try to have at least 3 paragraphs (5-8 sentences per) of history in your Signup. If you can't think of enough history, ask around on the OOC for some help.
10. As an exception to rule six, IC racism and Insults are allowed in applicable situations.
11. Approximately 2 posts equal one day. This may be altered during certain events.
((Note: As to keep with the GLA of CnC Generals, there is a somewhat high likelihood that there will be internal conflict within the GLA. As such, people may sign up as splinter factions.))
