GIMP user as well. If anything, there are some things it can do that Photoshop can't do, and other things it does better than Photoshop.

Too be fair, there are also plenty of things GIMP can't do that Photoshop can. Not to hate on GIMP, but I've heard good and bad things from both programs.

Still....I should get Goldi to download GIMP for me....

True. For example, the healing brush tool in Photoshop is easier to use on small spots.

Ja. Goldi also mentioned something about troubles with undoing steps on GIMP, or something....

Must still be good though. He uses that program like it's his crack cocaine.

One of the great things about GIMP is that it is possible to download any effect/filter known to man for it. And as for undoing steps, tell him to use Ctrl+Z.

I'm guessing your friend either saved it but is using the file that isn't the xcf. file which makes you unable to undo any steps you did before unless use the xcf. file.

Photoshop has better lighting effects then GIMP >.>
