I got a new keyboard today.

Going from membrane to mechanical is weird.
And holy fuck is it a lot louder.

Oh, mechanical? You mean the older-tech ones with the taller 'typewriter' keys?

They vary in sensitivity, but the newer USB-ones seem to have reverted to the same sensitivity as an actual typewriter. The older PS2-bus keyboards are of similar sensitivity as a laptop-keyboard.

So much better to have a defined "click" rather than a non-tactile "squish".

Thankfully I use both the futuristic flat keyboard of my laptop and the 90's style keyboard of my school's computers on a daily basis. I've learned to easily adapt to most keyboards in minutes with little loss in WPM.

These keys are fucking huge.
I guess I won't fat finger things anymore, but it's going to get some getting used to with typing on this thing.
I guess I'll also learn to not slide my fingers across the keys like on my other one, theses ones are like "No, you can just go fuck yourself right now."

But holy fuck if it doesn't feel great.

Plus, even with the power off, you can tappa-tappa-tap on the keyboard just to look important.
