Advanced. I like good grammer, proper English, and clever dialogue. I hate one line posts.

Casual, but be warned, only if the story is truly unique and interesting, and the writing skills of the other RPers doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out.

Fantasy, either High or Low.

Sci/Fi - Post-apocallypse or far future or interstellar. Non-human races...eh, I could take it or leave it.

NO VAMPIRE OR WEREWOLF - no offense to those who love it, but I was burned out on this genre 12 years ago.

Preferred type of play: Multi-player, no more than six people. I appreciate RPers who can post on a regular basis. That doesn't mean post any old crap just to post quickly, but try not to take a week, either.

Extra information:
I don't take myself too seriously, and I'm hard to offend. I enjoy both serious and humorous topics. I love RPs that can mix humor and drama, especially with clever dialogue. Ex. If an RP has a feel similar to "Firefly" or any Miles Vorkosigan novel, I'll probably enjoy it a great deal.

Preferred Category: While I joined the boards thinking that the casual section was certainly up to a sufficiently-high standard for me to get by, I will admit that I haven't once deviated from Advanced. While the small things like grammar and post length are nice, I really appreciate the flow of high quality writing, the character development, the emotional responses it can evoke. Most of all, I really appreciate roleplaying with writers who (Pardon the arrogance) can match my own talent. It just makes everything seem so much more... alive, I guess.

Preferred Genres: Theoretically I'm up for anything. I really enjoy fantasy -- especially if it's not the cut-and-dry stuff -- and scifi. The more creative, the better. While I'll certainly appreciate anything that's well-thought-out and well-written, I also have to admit that modern settings rarely hold my attention. This is especially true of modern military settings. There's just something about them that I find thoroughly dull.

However it's worth mentioning that I often prefer my futuristic/scifi RPs to be near-future or to incorporate less technologically advanced elements. So there's a little bit of a quandary for you to mull over.

Preferred Type of Play: I haven't tried a one-on-one yet, but I'm very hesitant about the idea. My own schedule and ever-changing level of interest means that I don't know if I could properly support such an RP. Furthermore, I feel like it would be too isolated.

Coming from a forum with a barely-active RP subforum, I have trouble with the notion of large=bad. It's sort of ingrained in me that the more people involved, the better things are. That's frankly because where I come from, no RPs actually end: They fizzle out, and the more interest shown, the longer they're likely to last. It's a bit different here, and that's something I have to get used to. Realistically? My size preferences are going to be entirely dependent upon the RP, but probably somewhere between 4 and 8 (truly skilled and active) members is an ideal.

While I myself have much to be desired where reliability is concerned (my interest is often intense but sporadic), I do appreciate reliability in others.

Extra Information: I'm male, but I do not play all, or even a majority, of my characters as males. Call it what you will, but I enjoy playing females because they are different from myself. It makes me have to think about things from a slightly different perspective, which I find worthwhile.

I'm not very adversarial, so anyone can get along with me just fine. That being said, I don't lie to make people feel good: If I don't think your writing is good, I will say so. In a kind way, perhaps, but it will definitely still be made known.

Also, feel free to PM me for absolutely anything, at absolutely any time -- even if you've never before talked to me. I enjoy feeling necessary, and it would simply light up my day if somebody wanted me in an RP of theirs, or better yet, wanted to be in an RP of mine.

Preferred Category : Casual or Advanced

Preferred Genres: Firefly, Dragonriders of Pern, things in the Buffy 'verse, and supernatural abilities/gifted type stuff are my favorites. I also like Fantasy of any sort, Pokemon, etc. I'm open to anything that seems well designed, so give me a shout if you're looking for RPers! I especially prefer things that have a lot of character development, not just hack-and-slash, although I'm not averse to fighting type things either. I will do romance- usually only F/F, but sometimes F/M if I'm in the right mood.

Preferred type of play [OnexOne, etc]: One x one or groups, provided the groups don't get huge and unwieldy. I prefer a max of 5 people.

Extra information: I have a special fondness for RPs that are a little dark- not totally grim, just a little on the darker side of things.
