    Name: Captain Shaun MacRauley
    Gender: Male
    Age: 25
    Ethnicity: Caucasian (Northern Irish/British)
Appearance: Shaun is a fairly handsome man, blessed with the ‘Irish charm’ of dark brown hair, light blue, intense eyes, and a near-flawless complexion, with a skin tone a little darker than ivory. His hair is cut short in a military style, and the small mutton chops left on his cheeks from the severe cut grow into a thick black beard and handlebar moustache.

He stands at a fairly impressive 6’3”, with broad shoulders and a sculpted, muscular body. He has the narrow hips of an athlete in peak condition, leading down to thick, muscular legs.

Shaun usually dresses in the clothes of a Redcoat; white undershirt, red overcoat, grey trousers, and polished black leather boots. He carries a scabbarded rapier, and a pistol hangs from his side. He also wears a metal gorget, as he’s an officer, and has two epaulets on his shoulders.

Personality: Shaun is a very enthusiastic man. He served two years in the Redcoats as a Regular before allowing his father to buy him his commission, so he believes he understands his men, and he’s fairly compassionate toward them – to an extent.

He is loyal to his country and to his “oaths”; he’s an honourable man, who was obsessed with reading stories of chivalry as a child. He’s a good man, a fair officer, and a well-rounded character.

Equipment: Rapier, Pistol, Ball and Shot, Black Stallion.

Skills: Shaun is a good leader, who is good at boosting the morale of his soldiers. However, during his years as a Regular, he learnt how to fire a musket and fight in the lines; he’s a good shot, too. He had a passion for horses as a child, so he’s a very good rider.

Bio: Shaun was born the son of a Minor Noble in the County of Down in the recently conquered Northern Ireland. His father was a protestant, so he was raised a Loyalist; loyal to the crown, loyal to the King – loyal to the British, who had done so much for the country of Ireland. He was taught to despise those “rebels”, the Republicans, who made it their mission to disrupt the tentative peace in Northern Ireland.

Shaun didn’t spend much time with his parents as a child; from the age of two to seven, he spent his time with a nurse, who taught him to read and write. He was educated on etiquette, and used up most of his free time reading large tomes about chivalrous knights.

When he turned ten, Shaun’s father gave him his first horse – a two-year old chestnut Irish Draught Gelding. The horse was a blessing; Shaun came out of his shell almost immediately, something his parents had feared he wouldn’t be able to do. He put down his tomes entirely (apart from before bed) and spent his time at the stables.

He learnt to ride from his father’s stable master, and then went on rides of his estate; from the age of ten to twelve, he made it his mission to explore all of the five-hundred and twenty acres of farmland and forest that was their estate.

He grew up hearing of the Napoleonic Wars; of the bastardly French, of what they’d done to Britain – of what they’d tried, but failed, to do to her Navy. It was this that inspired him to become a soldier – he wanted to defend his motherland from any invaders; he wanted to do something worthwhile, rather than being some petty noble in County Down!

He started learning to box at fourteen, and by the time he was nineteen, he was the best boxer in all of Northern Ireland for his age and weight bracket. At nineteen, Shaun left home and joined the Redcoats as a Regular. He served two years in Europe, and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant off his own merit.

Twenty-one years old, he returned home, and allowed his father to buy him commission. He was promoted to the rank of Captain, and took a boat a few months later to the New World. He was assigned to a Command of Redcoat Infantry to fight against the French – to take territory for The King, and for Country.

He's been working for four years, solidifying his reputation as a Respectable Army Officer. The Governors of the New World have been pleased with his advancements and how he's handled a number of conflicts, so he's been put in charge of a Regiment that has been sent to take over a French Fort.
