Get Over Ere' Team!
Das Deutsche Reich/The Drow States of Silverwater & Menzoberranzan
Nation Name - Das Deutsche Reich/The Drow States of Silverwater & Menzoberranzan
Location - Sectors 22, 23, 33.
Color - The might of purple, the colour of the Drow.
Attitude - The Reich is generally open to peaceful trading talks with other empires, realising that co-operation is the way forward for empires such as itself. The Reich must also cope with Drow expansionist attitudes, but these are mostly kept in check on the Council of Twelve. If you anger the Reich, you awake a sleeping giant, and they will stop at nothing to ensure your nation is justly punished... even to complete destruction, declaring you a Galactic Nemesis.
Capital Planet - For the Reich, it is definitely Brandenburg II - this is the centre of Kanzl power, and the headquarters of the Reich's armed forces. The Oberkommando des Heeres, or OKH, has its central command & control bunker located on Brandenburg II, as do the OKM, the central Naval Command.
The Drow capital planet (and the seat of the Reich's overall government) is the planet of Blacksmoke, a planet that is half batehd in sunlight, and half shrouded in darkness. The Kanzl mostly occupy the 'light' side, whilst the Drow occupy the 'dark' side of Blacksmoke. The government offices and the Council of Twelve convene in the city of Bloodspire, in the heart of the Dark Side of Blacksmoke. Bloodspire is a breathtaking example of Drow architecture at it's finest; towering skyscrapers of glass, steel, obsidian and adamantine are commonplace, and great edifices of state, fountains and luxurious bathhouses, not to mention the standard housing in the city, are all examples of Drow architecture at its best. Bloodspire's key landmark is the iconic Spire of Blood - a massive red spire of adamantine and glass that houses the Council's meeting rooms and also living quarters for some of the most opulent families in the Drow States.
Planets -
The System of Schleswig - Home of the key naval shipyards of the Reich.
The System of Bayern - By far the largest mercantile system of the Reich, Bayern's planets are bustling with activity to and from the Reich. If you want to make it big as a trader, Bayern's a smart place to do it.
The System of Menzoberranzan - Menzoberranzan is the other really major Drow system, other than Silverwater. Menzoberranzan is ruled with an iron fist by the dictators of House Baenre, who occupy a permanent seat within the Council of Twelve, as do the Houses of Shadowstrider (ruling Blacksmoke), Koslenko (commanders of the naval fleets of the Drow), Hohenzollern (Kanzl ruling dynasty), Saxe-Coburg Gotha (the other royal house of the Kanzl, abdicated in favour of Hohenzollern) and Schlossenburg, a Kanzl family who have ruled Bayern for generations.
Leader - The Council of Twelve.
Government - Dodecarchical system.
Population -
339 billion Kanzl
342 billion Drow
271 billion Britannians
Races -
The major races of the Reich are the Kanzl, the Drow and the Britannians. The Kanzl are human-esque, but distinctly Germanic in origin. Males tend to have blue eyes, blond hair and pale skin, akin to the so-called 'Aryan' race of humanity put forward by thinkers in the 19th and 20th centuries on Sol III. The Kanzl are also longer-lived than humans - the average life expectancy of a Kanzl is about 165.
The other key race in the Reich are the Drow. Bitter, sarcastic and often cruel, the Drow resemble the Dark Elves of human mythology... only these ones are real. They range from 5-6 feet tall, with exceptional heights being 4' 5" (Triel Baenre) all the way to 6' 8" (Raeviir El'Anadar), have black to dark purple skin, red eyes and cream to brilliant white hair. The Drow have no facial or bodily hair aside from their long hair that they wear down to their waists, usually. The Drow are lithe, quick, and intelligent, and skilled in the arts of deceit, espionage and stealth, as well as all-out war.
The final major race of the Reich are the Britannians. The Britannians represent the classic British human - males generally sport well-groomed moustaches and have short brown or black hair, whilst females often sport long, free-flowing hair that ranges in colour from auburn to jet black. Eye colour is similar to humans as well.
Currency - The Deutschmark - relative to the Drow Denarius: 1/2.5831, and relative to the Britannian Pound Sterling (rarely used) 1/0.8489.
Allies - Unknown
Enemies - Unknown
Military - 9.8% control potential.
Economy/Resources/Trade - 9.7% of the galactic revenues.
Influence - 58.1% galactic influence rating.
Advantage Traits -
- Versatile; the Reich adapt to meet new threats quickly
- High level of technology; the Reich's weaponry includes directed antiparticle beams and meson cannons, weapons that are devastating to both the exterior and interior of ships. Meson cannons are only disable by meson screens, and even the highest level of shielding is incapable of blunting 20% of the damage from a meson gun.
- Mixture of races; The Reich's adaptability stems from the different races that it is ruler over, such as the Drow and Britannians.
Disadvantage Traits-
- Xenophobic (Drow); The Drow are distrustful of alien races, they consider them to be a threat to the Reich and to themselves.
- Aesthetic (Drow); the Drow are concerned not only with functionality, but also with beauty. This can lead to... expensively-designed ships, to say the least.
- Lack of political say; the population may not be overly concerned with their lack of say in political matters, but it can grind their gears from time to time when quarrels break out.
Other Traits -
Not overly sure what to put here... don't think I need to cover anything else.
History - The history of the Reich is long and bloody. Formed 1500 years ago, when the fledgling Kanzl state merged with the nearby systems of Menzoberranzan and Silverwater, the Reich's long history has been studded with wars, both civil and external, conquests and tragedies. To the average citizen, the history of the Reich was taught to them in school, but it's not all that interesting to them. The Reich's formation a millennia and a half ago has paved the way for their meteoric rise to a key player in galactic affairs. -More will come later, I assure you...-
Racial Profile - The Drow
Race Name- The Drow, also known as the Dark Elves.
NPCable - Hell no!
Population - 342 billion
Habitat- - The Drow prefer the dark - their ships are usually completely lightless, and painted black (more of an aesthetic choice, but it helps a bit against optical detection, but if you're that close, prepare to die) and they prefer slightly damp, although warm, conditions. There are storms almost daily on Blacksmoke, and the heat is often into the 90s (Fahrenheit, of course).
Appearance-
Male (happens to be Haldor El'Anadar, in fact):
Female (and this is his fiancee, Aurelia! How convenient):
Physiology- The Drow can secrete a chemical that makes them blend into the darkness seamlessly, and also can craft cloaks called piwafi that conceal the wearer's heat signature, concealing them from infrared scanners.
Personality Drow are forever changeable - the vast majority are kind of evil bastards (excuse my French), but some of them can be nice people.
Lifespan/Birth/Aging-
Common Drow live to around 700 years old. Noble Drow (such as Jhulva Shadowstrider and Irroyes My'athar) have been recorded as living for well over 2000 years, and Jhulva herself is only 1512 years old, with Irroyes as 40 years her junior. Jhulva remembers the pre-Reich days as a very small child...
The Drow birth rates are on par with humans - it takes around 9 months to bear a child for a Drow.
Language- The main language is Drow Elvish (represented here as German in inter-species conversations, as the Reich also speak it fluently), but Britannic English is used to converse with members outside of the Reich. Other languages include Undercommon (Dutch) and Abyssal, rumoured to be the ancestral language of the Drow, from millennia ago...
Religion-
Religion is coming soon...
Culture-
Culture is also coming soon...

Uh, I've already got claim on sectors 54, 64, and 65. They're under the control of the Aenaean Diarchy.
Anyway, info on my ships is coming in a bit.

Well, here are some of the ships that will be used often by my nation.
And yeah, those meson cannons are a bit much if you ask me.
