It wasn't long now, not long before Hogwarts Express would leave King's Cross, and for the last time, Devon Pearce would be boarding the train at the beginning of the year. The chestnut haired girl was ready for it though, she looked forward to being able to graduate and go on to study for a possible teaching career or even to be an auror. Either way, she would be working to help others, and that was all the pale emerald eyed girl ever wanted to do. Perhaps, it was what drew her to an odd group of boys and her dear friend Selia. Running a hand through her long locks of hair, Devon scanned the crowd around the train for her friends, but shortly after decided to just get on the train and find them a compartment to sit in.
A smile was painted on her face when she found one, and flopped down on one of the seats, and with a long sigh she looked out to see the rest of the students running about, saying goodbye to their parents and saying hello to their friends. It was always a good memory that came to mind when she thought about getting on the train. She remembered her first train ride and how she had accidentally tripped over one of her now friends. Remus Lupin. She had been pushed about by the crowd, and lost her footing and brought him to the ground with her. It was after that, however, that he offered her a place to sit with he and his friends and the wonderful blossom began to bloom. She loved her friends with all her heart and would do anything for them, but where Remus could come to terms with his little "secret" she couldn't.
That brought an odd train of thought into her mind. There had been rumors flying about all summer about darker things coming, but she didn't want to believe them at all. Even those whom she found out that only she could see were buzzing about it, warning her. She knew that the likelihood of it all wasn't all too odd, but she didn't want to believe that in what was supposed to be her best year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was going to bring on such a bad omen. She hoped that her secret didn't slip out either, she just wasn't completely sure on how they would look at her after that. She feared the rejection most.
With a sigh she noticed her friends in the car and opened the door. "Hey guys, in here!" she smiled, and she greeted Remus with a hug first, seeing as he was the first one to come into the compartment and then Sirius, James, Selia, and even Peter. "Again we're crammed like sardines in a compartment, but aren't you excited?" at least her hyper aura wasn't something that was about to change. "It's our last year, think how much fun we'll have!"

King's Cross was packed to say the very least. His eyes scanned the crowds, lazily, and with a smile and a laugh he found someone he was looking for. Sirius Black had spotted one of his best friends, Remus Lupin. With a bit of a jog, he caught up to his friend before the crowd closed in around him. "There you are Moony." he nudged Remus a bit. "You seen the others?" he asked him continuing to scan the crowd. "I lost James a while back, and I have yet to see Peter, Selia, and Devon."
The joys of platform 9 3/4. It was always bustling when it was opened, with a playfully serious look [one that Sirius was sure he had invented] he looked about the crowd, finally spotting the brunette hairfrom of one of their group. The lovely Selia. Why two girls like Selia and Devonand were friends with them still baffled him to this day, but they were fun, cool, and accepting. Sirius looked to Remus. "Found Selia, come on, let's catch up to her, maybe she's seen everyone else." he suggested, navigating through the crowds that threatened to swallow them up and never spit them out. He made it to his goal and smiled.
"Hey there,Se , you seen anyone else? I found Remus. He should be here shortly." he greeted her with a signature grin and nudge. He never nudged her as roughly as he did James, Remus, or Peter, but he did like to bump into her. Maybe that was just his personality? However, the moment was very short lived as the crowd seemed to be pushing them towards the train cars. Sirius loved it. It was always a rush, but sometimes he wondered how there were never any angry mobs about on this day of the year. It certainly seemed like there would be with all the pushing and shoving, but aside from that, he had no clue.
Oddly enough, it seemed like the sea of people knew just who to push together as the small group was now only lacking one face, who pulled them into a compartment and greeted them, happily. "Hey, Pearce. How you managed to get onto the train undetected I won't ever figure out." he chuckled, and soon he found himself stuck between James and Selia, leaving Remus between Peter and Devon. It was like it was there assigned seating for the beginning of the year anymore... Or whenever they sat anywhere for that matter. He didn't mind it, but at Devon's notion he nodded. "I am ready. We're going to make this the best year ever. No questions asked."
