"The Remains" OOC (Zombie RP)

Date: January 1, 2013 Location: Fringe Industries- Employee Lounge, second floor.

"We've got to do something about this,"
Stephanie says with a look of despair. She shook her head when she realized nobody was going to respond.
"I'm completely tired of spending every waking moment stuck in this office building! Can't we figure something out, please? I'm so hungry! These chips from the vending machine only last so long!"
She looks around at the other people in the room with her, who seem to be feeling the same way. Since nobody had spoken up yet, Stephanie sighed, and slumped down in her chair. Her face went long, and she let out a sigh, using her action as a cue to leave the floor open for whomever wanted to speak.



This will begin briefly before the apocalypse; the first signs have just started showing, and the day seems to start off normally. Now, the zombies are typical, slow moving corpses as seen in "Dawn of the Dead" or "Resident Evil Degeneration". They are not super fast or strong, but if there is a bulk muscular man who turns, he will be a bulk muscular zombie. This should give you a typical idea of how they will act/react.

There you have it, folks. Apply as you wish, just as long as you plan on STICKING WITH the role-play and not abandoning it. I would rather not have an unsuccessful RP. At least two paragraphs per post, please? And you're not required to post every day, but please give notice before any absences so we can work around it. Thank you for your consideration!

I'm looking for about 5-6 players, including myself. (4/6)
Players will start in either the "Fringe Industries" office building, or a nearby business.. This is in the more urban part of the city, so there are more zombies. You will most likely be barricaded wherever you begin, but you don't have to be.

Note: Your characters are not limited to being office workers when starting in the office building, and may start wherever they wish, but they may be coworkers of Stephanie if you desire.

How I got here: (Pretty much explains itself. It's so I can get a feel for the character's attitude.)

Special skill: (i.e. lock-picking, medical knowledge, technology, marksmanship, etc.. Try to be diverse so not all characters are the same.)

Weakness: (Doesn't have to be huge, but everyone has one.)

Starting weapon: (Please don't god mod, or you won't be accepted into RP.)

Stephanie is wearing a seafoam green button up blouse and dark brown jeans, with seafoam green high heels to match. She wears a necklace with a fancy looking skeleton key through it. It's her "good luck charm".

Profession: Secretary for Fringe Industries' second floor offices.

How I got here: "Well, it all started as a normal day of work for me," Stephanie paused for a second, shuddered, and then continued, "things seemed fine until this woman came into our building freaking out and covered in blood! Then it just got worse from there.. Now I'm stuck in this damn lounge until we can figure a way out of here. Can we please hurry up though?" She waited for a response, and when there was none, spun on her heel and stormed off in the opposite direction.

Special skills:
Sneaky- Stephanie is good at sneaking around, and can therefore more easily avoid becoming zombie chow.

Weakness:
Physically weak- Stephanie is afraid of rough play, since she's at a disadvantage in the strength category.

Starting weapon: Nail gun, which was picked up whilst fleeing the office. A carefully placed shot could kill a zombie, but that requires luck for Stephanie.

Picture, or description of character: Blonde haired [dirty blonde to be exact, currently worn in a pixie cut] with large, steel blue eyes framed by dark lashes and brows, ivory skin. Natalya stands at approximately five feet, seven inches. A former dancer and forever passionate, she is slender and athletic with grace and poise from years of training. She is dressed in a powder blue turtleneck vest and matching blue stilettos and black office pants.There is a small rose tattooed upon her left shoulderblade.

Profession: A personal assistant for the manager of Russia's second largest ballet company, the show currently travelling and therefore, so is she.

How I got here: Work; readying for the beginning of a seasonal performance.

Special skill: Knives. Her father taught her how to shoot [with a revolver; later earning her the nickname Russian Roulette] and skin a rabbit in a minute flat when she was younger, later progressing to proper knife fighting after an attempted rape upon her younger sister. Natalya is - perhaps too - daring, but thinks well on her feet. She is very short tempered though, and deeply dislikes those who can't hold their own.

Starting weapon: A combat knife engraved with initials, "RR", in a holster upon her ankle.

Freelance Computer Programmer

How I got here:
"How I got here? Well, I was just sitting in Starbucks sipping my usual white mocha while browsing the internet on my laptop." Andrew grimaces at the garbage can sitting in the corner with destroyed electronics littering the surrounding area. "Then of course, my day had to be ruined by a bloodied corpse being thrown into the window by a rampant truck." He nods at the blood stained window. "There was panic, I mean why wouldn't there be? We had people screaming and running around randomly, I think the panic is what got most people killed. Err... Zombified... Whatever." He slouches back against the wall and shrugs.

Special skills:
Critical thinking- More often than not, Andrew has a solution to a problem other than just brute force.
Basic Medical Knowledge- With much of his family having been nurses, Andrew knows the basics on how to stop bleeding and other basic medical actions.

Weakness:
Asthma- He's physically pretty average, but has trouble keeping up with others for as long due to his lung condition.
Sight- Without his glasses, Andrew has great difficulty seeing and will be much less aware of his surroundings.

Starting weapon:
A small kitchen knife pilfered from Starbucks.

How I got here:
Mykyta look down from the group, averting their gaze as he rubs the back of his neck. "I biked over here from the airport to deliver a parcel to a..." He looks down, checking the parcel that he had put on a table next to where he was leaning, "Ah, yes. Mr. Leslie Carson." Mykyta stifles a laugh, a thin smile appearing on his face as he looks out at the others he's trapped with. "Who names their child Leslie? Heh... Ah yes, how I got here... Well, I delivered a parcel, met someone who was covered with bites, he tried to take a bite out of me and I got scared and kicked him away from me. He tripped over something and I swear I heard his neck break..." He pauses again, biting on his top lip for a moment as he processes his thoughts. "I think that makes me a murderer?"

Special skill:
Mykyta is a pilot capable of flying small private aircraft, is an experienced mountain biker, and frequently camps which has led to him amassing a decent knowledge of survival techniques. He also frequently browses websites like lifehacker.com and artofmanliness.com for amusement. Being raised by immigrants, he is fluent both in the language of the land he lives in as well as the lands his parents had immigrated from; being English, Russian, and Slovenian.

Weakness:
Mykyta cannot swim.

Starting weapon:
He doesn't have any weapons on him.
