"Awww shit"
That was Jason's last thought before he died. Admittedly, it had only one swear and was fairly anticlimactic. More like what one would say upon losing an average bet in gambling.
Of course the anticlimax was appropriate, there was a reason he was still here to remember it now. Apparently, Dragons are bad at killing, not even removing his heart killed him.
"Magic of course" he thought just after.
That was a weird trait of his, he pretty much stayed calm all the time. It was part of his profession, Monster Hunter's couldn't afford to lose their calm. His job was to go out and provide raw materials from dangerous predators for his village, which seemed to be on a plot of land populated exclusively by massive predators. Getting stepped on, bitten, clawed, and assaulted by all manner of elements was in his job description. It would do no good to panic.
Now though, his village had disbanded after the attack by the Dragon, something Jason had never seen before. His weapons were ineffective, and he died. At least, that's what he had been told. He just woke up a while later, with a patched up hole in his chest and a story from one of his friends about what happened.
Damned Dragon apparently left him alive for a reason, because he heard the Dragon's voice in his mind, telling him to go to a city known as Gran Soren and find another he should recognize rather quickly.
The city was unlike anything he had seen before, almost nothing in it was made out of materials from creatures, predator or prey, all stone and woodwork. 'Twas impressive.
Jason kind of stood out, his massive Katana (known as a Tachi) on his back was peculiar enough, but his armor, appearing to be made entirely of wildly colored hides, scales, and bone, stood out as well. He possessed no helmet, letting his unusual red hair be seen as well.
If one were to take apart his armor, they would find it strong as any metal, but far lighter as well. His shoulder's were covered by dark red pauldrons, made of large plated scales, a smaller line of similar plates ran down his arms in a pattern that remained flexible at all angles, and a similar structure went down his greaves. His chestplate was different, apparently solid black, it was actually a color outside the human eye's spectrum, taken from an unusual chameleon monster. If struck, it would switch to white temporarily. the chestplate appeared metal at a casual glance.
Jason was still passing through the massive crowds of people, when suddenly, his vision switched to all black, except a silhouette of pure red, Right, that's the one I'm supposed to meet, thanks for making it obvious
He didn't know if the Dragon could hear all his thoughts all the time, he didn't particularly care though.
Jason ran up to Chris "Alright, funny story, a huge lizard killed me and told me to find you. For some reason, who are you and am I insane?"
