"We'll be there soon," Sabrina murmured softly. "Things will get better, in one way or another. Just wait, and you'll see." She had enjoyed getting the chance to go outside again. For so long she had been behind walls and trapped beneath ceilings that she was glad to be able to feel the freedom of the open sky again. She didn't want to think that may have been the last chance she had to go outside. Somehow, she would see the sky again.

Nicholas nodded his head wearily. "I wish we could too. It would be a beautiful dream, to save the lives of those who are so dearly loved by others. But you know we can't make another as well as I do. It took us ten years to create that first machine. Not to mention the funding of one of the richest men in England." He let out a sigh. "But I still dream of the changes we could have made for the world."
He kissed her lightly. "But that one incredible machine also allowed me to live out my life with one of the most beautiful woman in the world. And for that I will be forever grateful."
Well I'm a sucker for fine Cuban cigars, The problem is I can't afford 'em, But last year I went and got myself a whole box, And just to be safe I insured 'em

I took out a policy against fire and theft, And then I hurried home, With a fifty-cent lighter I sat on my back steps, And I smoked 'em one by one

Two weeks later I went to see that insurance man, And I handed in my claim, With a straight face I told him that through a series of small fires, They'd all gone up in flames

They reviewed my case and they had no choice, But to pay me for what I'd done, And I took that check and bought a whole new box, And I smoked 'em one by one

Two weeks later this detective shows up, Tells me that company's pressin' charges, One speedy trial later they locked me up, On twenty-four separate counts of arson

And now I sit and I stare at a blank brick wall, Lookin' back on what I've done, To pass the time I've got some ten-cent cigars, And I smoke 'em one by one

Skye nuzzled Sabrina's cheek, closing his eyes, as he covered her in his thick, warm hoodie, holding her hands. "You are my best friend, my dear sister. I feel incomplete without you. I miss how we would always be able to cuddle together, and spend time in bed on a lazy winter morning, wrapped up together like nothing else mattered, warm bodies pressed together."

She smiled "And me, getting to live with a handsome man, and to never leave his side.. Do you think we should take the young girl some flowers if she is in hospital?"
For anyone who hasn't heard a Somerset accent, please listen to this if my character is stated to orginate from there.

"Skye," Sabrina replied softly, "I love you too." A part of her feared what this absolute devotion would mean. She didn't know wheter or not she needed to do something to try and separate herself from her brother a little bit. the very thought hurt her to the core, but she didn't want him to be so alone when she was gone that he had nothing left to live for. He was going to be a beautiful man, she knew it, and her death was not going to be the reason that he died. Tomorrow, then. Or whenever she next got severely ill.

Once more Nicholas' thoughts flitted back to the young boy. Eliza hadn't known him when he was sixteen, or even she would be able to see the deep physical resemblance between the two men. In some ways it was unnerving, looking at a boy and having it be like looking in a mirror, but it stirred some deep, hidden desire within him, something that he had never dreamed would surface. His 114 years hadn't been enough for him. He wanted more.
"Yes, we should go see them. I'm sure that they would appreciate the company."
A touch of guilt gnawed at his soul, though. That boy had his own life to live. Who was he to want to steal it from him? Was he truly that selfish? Wasn't 114 years of life enough?
He kissed Eliza gently once more. "Should we head home?"
It seemed the cool autumn air wasn't good for his mind.
