It's rather simple, really. Making a character can be kind of confusing the first time around, but if you get someone to hold your hand through the process (as Elendra did with me making a character) it's not so bad. The actual playing mechanics are simpler than other tabletop games I've seen too, just counting up some numbers and rolling a specific number of 10 sided dice rather than having to figure out how many of which kind of dice to use.

For example: a 6-sided die's opposite sides will add up to 7. If you're trying to roll a 6 or a 5, you can position it so that it will roll on an axis with 6 and 5 on it. However, there's a 4/6 chance you won't get the 5 or 6. Nonetheless, it's a larger chance to get a 5/6 than if you didn't position it.
Unless you're using a dice rolling bot (which we do) with which you type in a simple command and it does the rolls for you, in which case it's pretty fucking simple.

    I'm old school, bro.

These dice-rolling skills come in handy for Monopoly.

If the GM has a character, they are:

    1) More likely to help themselves out OR hinder themselves more.
    2) People are more likely to immediately fall in line behind them(Like an RP I ran, Bleach. The people on my mission immediately filed in behind me, despite my character have no leadership qualities.)
Well for the monsters... I have them set to certain behaviors (in D&D)

Like if one sees magic they will do their best to go after a caster.Or if they see someone trying to skulk around the field they will go after them and attack. Maybe the monster wants to go after the artillery. Or the monsters hone in on one target and attack (which is decided with a dice). It keeps it so the monsters are really out of my hands so to speak. That is just in fights. Luckily I also have a more dominant player in one of my campaigns. His input makes everyone follow him and not me, which allows me to RP without having to make them do anything.

I handle loot a little differently. I ask players the kind of equipment they might like via a wishlist and then when it comes time for loot distribution, it is there to buy/find. The random aspect makes it less less in my hands and more in the games. The only real difference is that I have to design the game itself to take the control out of my hands.
