Ah, the good old days. I completely forgot about Guiness's character and the creativity morbidity of his insanity.

Speaking of mental instability, I like how suddenly Don is seeing random things (I originally thought the otters were some Legion decoy... training otters is possible, I guess?), and Isaac seems to be displaying some psychopathic traits (carving bodies and hanging them on the wall. Perhaps a post-apocalyptic Martha Stewart?). I'm excited to see what both of them turn out to be.

Anyways, added a new minor group to the OP. All the gun control crap that's been shoved down my throat the last couple of days (from both sides of the issue) inspired it. Cuz, ya know, when the average southerner owns 2.5 guns, where did that unusually high survivor:zombie ratio actually end up? Well, now you know.

Also I made up the 2.5 guns thing. Although that TOTALLY sounds like it could be a real statistic.

*Doubly also, don't be shy about building the world, guys. I'm all for new groups, locations, havens, infected types... post a summary here and I'll add it to the main thread. I literally conceptualized the confederates this morning, brainstormed the rest of the day and wrote it all down this evening. It's that easy.

first, call him that Martha to his face. See what happens. :P Second, he was in a bit of psychopathic mood, considering what happened though, he felt it was justified....more exploration of this later? Maybe...maybe not...

Also, as a note, I'm waiting for Free Faller to post before I do, since part of my next post heavily depends on Cassie and how she plays things out.

*so, Free Faller, I read your post just now, and I thought it was a wonderful way to end the evening. I really enjoy the amount of crazy that Cass has got going. She and Acacia are definitely gonna have to throw down sometime.

Seeing y'all moving, I have an idea as to how we might have Simon meet up with Cassie and Frost. Did y'all have anymore plans from this point between now and then? Tell me here, and if not, I'll PM you my idea for their meeting. Oh, that goes for Craftwork too. I'm not sure if he's coming along with us somehow or not.

In Autumn of 2020, Haven-folk of Washington watched as their worst fears were realized in the Siege of Evergreen, dubbed the Green Siege or the Day of Red Pines. Though Legion failed to conquer the haven a wound was sewn so deep that the community might never heal. Fear led to a foolish deal with an organization cold as the devil, the 1007th. Quietly, the haven gave way to military control. It happened in mere hours. The Council became puppets dancing to the whim of an organization set on a quest for power and domination. A small band of individuals saw the threat and reacted.

Robert 'Pope' Messick and Captain Jamie Evans formed a resistance immediately. Members of the council, the duo feign obedience to the increasingly totalitarian presence while secretly organizing missions to sabotage and distract the 1007th. A religious leader in the community, Pope refers to the group as Shepherds, evoking the same radical action a young Jew spurred against the Roman Empire two thousand years prior. Their existence is purposefully quiet, often manipulating individuals into aiding the cause without notice. Shepherds are an extremely young group, largely populating the new epicenter of the 1007th -- Evergreen Haven.

There are Shepherds and there are the Flock. Shepherds are members who've knowingly accepted the position and thereby, if found out, would be executed by the 1007th. Flock are people aiding in the cause without knowing, often manipulated or choosing to be unaware and mistaken by 1007th as members. Thus Flock are also executed, or tortured until offering up information. Shepherds and trusted Flock are taught special ways of signalling their allegiance. A more common practice to identify a member is to draw half an ichthys in the ground with one's foot. If the second person is a member, they will complete the ichthys, if not, they often assume it a strange quirk. The Shepherd are ultimately opposed the 1007th; where the 1007th are but Ghosts from the Past, Shepherd are merely that Phantom's Bane.
