A Supernatural Store

This is a Reboot of an idea originally by Phantom Sekai.

The year is 2015. Not much has changed, really. Unless you count that fact in the year 2012, Supernaturals revealed themselves to the humans of the world. Vampires, werewolves, witches... anything from storybook tales roam the earth and have for some time; they have only revealed themselves to the public recently. Some believe it was a good decision, others... not so much. The humans are still afraid. The Supernaturals aren't treated like equals. Protests for both sides are commonplace. The thought of coexisting peacefully doesn't seem to compute in the human minds.

But in this little section of an average city, there is a store that seems to stand tall even when surrounded by humans. It's a store of the supernaturals, by the supernaturals, for the supernaturals. It has everything from ingredients for a witches brew to Fae's next meal. There are other stores like it, of course. The differences? The others are located within cities (more like tent cities, really) designated for the supernatural. This one is the only one in a city where humans are rampant and supernaturals are fewer.

We run this little store on the corner. Each of us different but all existing with each other. Some want to be on front lines of equal rights. Others want to leave and go back to the forests and lakes of the old days. Others still don't care much either way as long as something is done soon.

This is where we pick up our roleplay. It has been three years since the creatures came out of the not-so-proverbial closet and the riots don't seem like they'll settle down anytime soon. Hate crimes against us are common. People have damaged the store to try to run us off. But we stay. Most of us, because we have to. We have nowhere else to go.

So any interest?

Hmm... An angel sounds good. You could really have some fun with those stereotypes. But for some reason I thought you'd want to be a phoenix. I don't know what could POSSIBLY have led me to that conclusion.

I'm pretty interested. Do you have ideas for story hooks or are you just planning to see where it goes? There is a pretty good conflict already set up.

A major plot point is definitely going to be those riots and protests. It'll be interesting to see what sides the characters take and how that'll effect the store. Any ideas are most certainly appreciated!

I love it already. Another question, and a suggestion. Are we allowed to kill civilians...if our personality clashes with the rioters, or are we suppose to be kinda' pacifistic?

Oh, heavens, no! Feel free to murder rioters! Keep in mind though, the world isn't lawless. The courts will probably come down on you harder, simply because you're supernatural. They'll always take the word of a human over you. You will be punished more severely than a human who commited the same crime.

Think post-slavery, pre-civil rights. And we're colored folks.

We've got 5 feelers, plus myself and possibly another two from the old roleplay. Calculating dropping, I think we should have enough to start this. If I can't put the OOC up tonight, I will definitely get it up tomorrow!
