    Star Wars d20: Welcome to the Galaxy

    This is our official Star Wars D20 thread with the primary objective being the organization and execution of a single session of play. Our session will take place on Wednesday, December 5th, with the specific time to be determined. I want everyone to post their character sheet, courtesy of Myth-Weavers or an equitable sheet generating website, as well as their preferred time to play on Wednesday. I am aiming for Wednesday night, EST, with the specific time up for debate. If you can’t do Wednesday, I’m afraid you’re going to have to miss out. This is literally the only day I have free for something like this until later this month, post-finals. If you can make it Wednesday, though, let me welcome you to our game.

    Welcome to the Galaxy is set before the Trade Federation’s invasion of Naboo. It is its own universe, and we will not be paying particular attention to the vast wealth of information provided by the Expanded Universe. Think of it as a reboot of the Star Wars franchise in pen-and-paper format with Turtlicious instead of Hayden Christensen.

    Let’s talk about the setting.

    We’re going to be starting, most likely, in the Outer Rim, just beyond the control of the Galactic Republic. The Jedi Order is strong, the Senate holds the galaxy together, and there are no particular threats to the stability of our favorite galaxy, far, far away, just yet. But there will be. If this session goes smoothly, and we get a little glimpse of what’s in store for this campaign in the future, I hope a few of you will come back and reprise your roles as the protagonists of an epic quest across the stars.

    My current thinking is that, for one reason or another, you have assembled as a team for the purpose of recovering a holocron from a derelict Jedi Temple on an obscure moon. Since most of you have expressed an interest in playing a vague mercenary or a character who can easily be folded in with mercenaries, I think it’ll give us a very nice point at which to start.

    Character Creation Guidelines
    We will be using the core rulebook only, found here. Your characters can be any base class detailed in the rulebook, and you will be building your characters with a 25 point buy, as prescribed by the rulebook. I’ll reveal more details on this as I read through it. To be honest I’m not quite sure myself about a great deal of the details. This is my first time running Star Wars d20, after all.
