    Hi there,

I was looking through the thread a while ago. I liked the sound of the RP and the IC thread seems very good and well written. I'm hoping you might still be taking applicants? If so, here's a brief character sheet I wrote up that I hoped you might find interesting.

    Name: Araneus

    Age: 28

    Gender: Male

    Race: Human

Class/Job/Profession: Hunter-Warrior of the Spyder Covenant.

Appearance: Araneus is around 5’8’’ tall, with a muscular body type. He has long black hair, and dark green eyes with a strong jawline and classic bone structure evident from viewing his often covered face.

Personality: Araneus is fiercely loyal to the Spyder Covenant and its interests. He is fiercely dedicated to pursuing any goals set before him. And as he has been trained, he brings focus and discipline to any task at hand.

Araneus is intelligent and reasonably educated but lacks general knowledge of areas not relevant to his role as a Hunter-Warrior. He has had societal contact with people for a range of backgrounds, mostly however this was simply to aid him in learning to blend into the background of any gathering or to secure a contract for the Covenant. He is aware of such esoteric things as magic, but there are no magicians amongst the Spyders to have taught him on the subject. And as of yet, he has not encountered many non-human races.

Background: As a mere child Araneus was left abandoned on the streets of a dark corner of a seedy housing district in Solara. His cries unnoticed to all but a single Spyder. He was brought to a lair, named and raised by the Spyder Covenant, the mysterious group of black glad figures seem at times throughout many cities in the land. He was taught the ways of the Spyder. He was taught to move, leap and climb. He was taught how to hide in shadows and in light. He was taught to fend. And he was taught to hunt.

Though young Araneus did not grow without wisdom. The covenant elders trained him in languages, reasoning and mathermatics. He is, as much as he can be, well educated for a citizen of Solara.

As a Hunter-Warrior his primary role is to avenge wrongs committed against the Covenant. When not engaged in that sacred duty, he may be called upon to uphold the laws and ways of the Covenant, to ensure the safety of Covenant members and to bring necessary support to their allies. He may even be called upon to acquire contracts and bounties to gather monetary resources to aid the Covenant. However, it is on this occasion that he finds himself traveling far from Solara to answer an old debt of the Spyders. One which is owed to the Baron of Cudsel himself.

    Equipment/Possessions
: Araneus wears the full uniform of the Spyders. His lower body is glad in leggings with light yet sturdy boots on his feet. His upper body in covered in a long-sleeved tunic, with a belt and sash around it containing small concealed pouches. And over this simple garb he wears a long and hooded robe. As is Spyder tradition, ever item of his clothing is black as night.

He wears cloth covered gauntlets over his hands and with a single motion small hooked metal claws can descend from them to cover his fingers. These claws are used for combat and for climbing surfaces and are known simply as the fangs of the Spyder. The boots he wears also have dual pronged hooks that can be released from the front. These are primarily used for climbing alone. Though as a Hunter-Warrior, Araneus is trained in their full combat applications.

Abilities/Talents: Araneus is trained in the acrobatic martial art style of the Spyder Cult. He is strong, supple and fast as a result of this training. He can climb almost any surface, able to support his entire body weight with the slightest of grips. He also has a vast knowledge of poisons and toxins (some are often stored in his belt) and he has considerable knowledge of how to draw them from plants, or even animals.

Thanks for reading. And no worries if this isn't the kind of thing you are looking for.

The Spyder Covenant sounds like an Assassin's guild. He's interesting, but he would be much more suited for a cityscape adventure rather than the task the current players are undertaking in Siege of Cudsul. It's an interesting character but he has little mileage in this setting simply because he's only here for the reason that the baron called in a favor. Sorry but... I don't think this is what I'm looking for.

No problem. C'est la vie. Best of luck with your game.
