Something is wrong. Very, very wrong. There is a storm- it's brewing, I can feel it. Yet somehow, this time, things are different. This isn't an ordinary storm, and before you ask, I don't know how I know, I just do. Possibly the way it hasn't stopped drizzling rain for a week, or perhaps the persistent ache in my bones all I can say is something isn't right. It's powerful. Too powerful.
I'm not alone; word around the fighters is that some of us have already left. Me? I refuse to abandon my master, though I've had multiple call me stupid for doing so. They said I wouldn't survive; neither will my master, get out while I still can... Let’s just say I did them a favour, and they're in a better place now. Whatever happened to man's best friend? It'll be over my dead body before my master dies. The humans are oblivious, they're treating it like an ordinary storm, mulling about their dreary business. Surely they must know? Life has continued as normal, and I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. We should be preparing to leave, however master has been so happy these days, since that strange female came around. I guess as long as he's happy, right?
...I just don't know anymore.

We’ve had another death today. I didn’t even see it coming, it all happened so fast. It was a pup this time, only two months old. That’s the forth one this week now.
We have had to move onto higher ground as the woodland is just not safe anymore. It hasn’t stopped raining for about a week and if this carries on, I fear we may get flooded in. The whole pack is on edge, they are starting to question whether or not they will survive this. But I know we will. We always survive in the end. But for some reason I have a bad feeling about this rain. A very bad feeling. Something is just not right, I can sense it. My gut tells me a storms coming, but I can't know for sure. It could just be me over reacting... but my gut has never wronged me before. The other Wolves can feel it too, some have even fled. But I will never leave this pack, ever. The ones who flee are just cowards, and they deserve to die.
I just hope the rain will end soon enough; I’m not sure how much longer we can take of this.

My master died last night, and there is not a single doubt that what I saw will haunt me forever. It was my job to comfort him, protect him, but this was out of my control. I tried everything in my power to stop him, though I've come to believe he wasn't thinking straight. It all started when the storm peaked, the wind began to scream, taking out anything in its path, lightening illuminates the sky constantly, and the rain is still relentlessly pounding down. Around midnight, something went awry- the whole house shook, all I know is that this was not thunder. About an hour later, two odd smelling humans came to the house. Whatever they told my master only worked to anger him, but deep down I knew he was scared. He reeked of the scent of fear. The three argued back and forth for a while, and when the two left, it's when it happened.
Master stormed upstairs, removed the black thing I've learned to call a gun from his bedside drawer, and placed it to his head. I barked, whined, scratched, tried to get him to stop. The final thing he did was strike me over the head with the gun, before firing it. He'd never struck me before. The shot is still ringing in my ears; I made sure to lie with him all night. But now- now I've realized that I must leave the city. There is nothing else left for me to do. This is my final hope.
Wish me luck.

In order to keep the water out we’ve had to trap ourselves in an abandoned den one of our hunters found as he was on his hunting duty. It’s not very safe here, I’ll admit, but it will have to do. The storms are too vicious to safety go out, and the waters are far too wild. The pack is absolutely starving as our last meal was around 3 days ago. Even I’m starting to feel the strain, but I would never admit that to the rest of the pack, no matter how much my ribs begin to show.
There have been a few leaks, but all in all, I’m guessing this den is fairly stable, if not a bit crowded. We are really just holding up till the storm blows over, if it will ever blow over. At the moment, I’m having doubts. I guess all we can do now is wait and find out.

After two days of wandering through the city, I feel as if my bones themselves have absorbed rain water. Not a second has passed that I have not thought of my master. Thankfully, I can see the horizon, by the end of the day we should be out of the heart of the storm, and into a forest rumoured to be full of wolves. The last two days have been gruelling for me. Well, I should say "we", I've managed to pick up some others. They've been treating me like a leader, which I'm unsure of. This wasn't ever my intention, but how do I tell them off? The city is in ruins, the air is thick with the scent of smoke, the streets are treacherous, not to mention flooded, and buildings themselves have crumbled, littering the ground with bits of sharp glass and metal. So when they see a spark of hope, who am I to take that way? One can only hope that they are prepared for the disappointment.
At first, it was a female and her young puppy; she seemed to think I could protect her after witnessing a spat between me and another dog. Then it was a scraggly male who thought we were a family, from there I lost count, now there must be at least 15 different dogs. Unfortunately, some dogs haven't been so friendly. There have been a few suspicious dogs that have approached me; appearing less-than-sand and I had no choice to... Finish them off. According to one wounded male who has stuck around, there was an explosion of some kind, a power plant I believe, and that started the fire. He also mentioned that the fire has remained uncontrolled since it started.
As hesitant as I am to allow these dogs to admire me the way they have been- It would be dishonest to say that at least a small part wasn't enjoying it.

We simply can’t stay here anymore, it’s just not safe. The storm hasn’t even stopped for a second and we’ve hardly eaten anything in more than four days now. The den we are in is not strong enough and the back of it has already collapsed. Who knows how much longer it has till the rest collapses.
Earlier this morning, I and a few hunters ventured out of the den to look for food. I must admit, I didn’t expect it would be too bad, just a bit of flooding, that’s all... but how wrong I was. We had been oblivious to the fact that the whole area was covered in a blanket of thick black... smoke? I’m not sure what exactly in the world it was, but I know something wasn’t right. I don’t think it could have been made by natural causes, in fact, I know it wasn’t natural. The only valid explanation that could possible explain it, was if it was created by... man. Too many times have I faced the evils of man. With this new information, the chances of us surviving are becoming thinner. I fear they have brought these events down on us to try and kill us off, who knows that they are capable of. They are so much more advanced then us, I admit, but when it comes down to survive, they are clueless.
It doesn’t matter what happens though, we will survive. And I swear on my cold dead body that we will get through this. No matter what.

It has been two days since we've entered these woods; the black smoke is just as thick here as it was in the city. The rain has continued, although I've begun to believe that the worst is over even though the wind and rain continues. The pack was grateful when we finally found a reasonable spot to rest yesterday. In these lands, under a thick blanket of smoke lies a rocky forest, dense with foliage. Due to these desirable traits we were considering remaining here permanently, that was, until we picked up on a new scent:
I should've known that land this lush was a territory, and now that I'm reflecting on the blood shed today, it is looking more and more like my fault for assuming. It started when two males encountered a hunter, and they got me. I argued with him back and forth for a while, which finally ended with some.. Collateral damage to the hunter, and led to the rest of the pack along with their alpha male.
The alpha wolf immediately came off as very aggressive, and so I did as well, cutting straight to the chase. We argued in the pouring rain for hours, him with his pack behind him, and me with the dogs behind me. He wasn't having any of it, and decided to take a snap at me. We struggled for a few moments before his sheer size had me pinned to the ground, until that same wounded male who told me of the power plant explosion knocked him off of me. From there, the fighting broke out. It was a long, bloody fight in the rain, and it left at least five dogs’ dead, but more wounded. I give (dare I say) my pack credit, for they fought valiantly, leaving just as many wolves down. I took out two wolves before returning to the alpha, where we battled to a point where neither could continue. The final words he spoke to me will never be forgotten: "This land is yours- for now. For you, however, this is neither a defeat nor a victory. From this day forth, this field we stand in is a dead man's land, and this- This, my friend, is war."
My response? "You're making a huge mistake."

Earlier today, me and the Betas decided that the best thing for the pack to do now was leave this den behind and to go back and find a temporary place to set up until the storm dies down. After the decision was made, we left and moved back towards the heart of our territory. It wasn’t a long journey, but by god it was tiring. No wonder really, being cooped up in a small den with little food would take a toll on anyone. Our Lead Fighter and Beta volunteered to stay behind with the pups to try and find another way around the river that we had to cross. It was hard to allow it, but none of the pups would survive getting through that river. It was five times bigger than it normally was, due to all the rain that had fallen. After crossing the river, I sent out a few hunters and scouts to check out how badly the area had flooded before the whole pack moved over.
After about an hour of waiting for news, my Lead Fighter and Beta finally returned with the pup’s safety. Soon after, one of my hunters returned with a few concerning injuries. He warned about ‘Dogs’ that had moved into the area. Maybe it was because of the fact the Dogs belonged to man or maybe it was that they wanted to move in, probably a bit of both because I was absolutely raging at that point. So much so that I marched the whole pack down towards where the injured hunter had come from and confronted the so called ‘Dogs’. At that point, nothing they could have said would have eased my rage, which was probably why we argued for so long. Well, until I had enough of arguing and decided to take a lunge at the leader of the dogs. Looking back, I see now that if I hadn't had been so vilent, maybe we could have missed all the bloodshed. I guess at the spare of the moment, and how angry I was that they and their ‘humans’ had brought all this rain and smoke down upon us which has killed at least five members of my good pack. Not to mention the injuries they had caused one of my hunters. And yet still they walk upon our grass and demand land. No, I was not going to take that sitting down. If there was any other way around it, I would have taken it, but there wasn’t. It was a kill or get killed situation. No doubt about it.
Once I had the leader pinned, I got knocked back by another male who tried to fight me off. Of course, with the loyalty of my pack being second to none, my Lead Fighter jumped in a tackled the male straight off. With that, the rest of my pack joined in and fought endlessly with the dogs. I killed the three nearest dogs to me just before returning back to the leader. After a while, when both me and the male only had a little more in us, I declared that the land to be halved, but that this wouldn’t be the end of it.
We did fight very hard, but being that I and my pack weren’t at their best, they didn’t fight as well as I knew they could. A total of six died today with many others wounded. I must say, the male was a very good fighter indeed, which makes me wonder how much of a threat they will pose to us?
Today was not a defeat, but nor was it a victory. The Dogs may have got the land that they wanted for now, but this is not the end of it. It will never be the end. The Dogs have made a grave mistake coming onto these lands. We may be on the other side of the territory, but we will always be watching. The Uncharted Territory will be a reminder to them that we are here, and are coming for them. For this my friend...
This. Is. War.
Let's fast forward a year, to the present times. The Insurgent pack, consisting of dogs, adjusted to life in the wild after discovering that any soul who set foot in the forsaken city never returned. They quickly established a hierarchy and learned how to defend themselves, hunt, and heal. The Archaic pack, consisting of the wolves, mourned the loss of their prized territory, vowing to one day take it back. It too took them a while to recover from the storm, considering that all their prey had been scared off by the explosion.
Madd and Locke had both proven themselves to be valiant, battle tested alpha males, fighting hard alongside their pack in the many battles the two groups waged. The two alphas were both highly admired by their packs for their leadership skills, and undying loyalty. All was well until one morning, when both alphas turned up missing. It is still unknown as to where they disappeared to, despite the many theories that have circulated. It's needless to say both packs blame the other for the disappearance.
The territorial boundaries remain the same, with the Uncharted Territory in the middle, however recently some hunters from the Insurgent pack have crossed the line, due to the scarce prey on that side- a direct result of over-hunting. With the dogs in desperate search of food, tensions are once again growing between the packs.
These are the ranks available:
The reason why there is a wide range of ranks is because we want you to have as much of an option of ranks for your character as possible.
The Alphas: The Alphas are the leaders of the pack and their word is law within the pack. They can decide a wolf's/dog's rank and fate. They are the first to eat meals and will fight any wolf/dog to show their dominance when necessary. The Alpha Female and Alpha Male have the same level of authority.
The Betas: Second in command, The Betas have quite a lot of power in the pack. Even though there word is not final, they can still enforce punishment upon wolves/dogs and make decisions for the welfare of the pack without the Alphas' consent. If one of the Alphas is not available the respected Beta will temporally fill their place. In case of death of an Alpha, one of the Betas may fill their place unless stated otherwise. If the Alpha Male is not available, the Beta Male will take their place. If the Alpha Female is not available, the Beta Female will take their place.
Lead Healer The Lead Healer is responsible for the welfare and health of the entire pack. They must have a very good knowledge on wild herbs and natural medicine. The Lead Healer also have the power to relieve any wolf/dog of their duty for whatever if he/she thinks the wolf/dog in question is not fit enough. This also includes the Alpha, Beta or Leaders if another higher commander also agrees.
Lead Fighter: The Lead Fighter is forth in command and is the direct leader of the fighters and scouts. It is the Lead Fighter’s job to make sure that the fighters and scouts are in order and that they are doing their jobs properly. It is their responsibility for what the fighters and scouts do and any misbehaviour from them is also the fault of the Lead Fighter. He/she has permission to punish any of the fighters and/or scouts with a good reason but must consult the Alpha first if it is to do with harming another. All fighters and scouts report directly to the Lead Fighter and the Lead Fighter reports directly to the Betas or Alphas.
Lead Hunter The Lead Hunter is responsible for the food supply within the pack. They can call pack hunts and decide when and where the Hunters are allowed to hunt. The Lead Hunter must make sure the pack is well-fed and never runs out of food. Hunters report to the Lead Hunter and the Lead Hunter reports to the Betas and/or Alphas.
Fighters: The Fighters are the protectors of the pack and will fight intruders and defend the pack's territory. This is a very important and necessary position in the pack. It is their duty to guard and patrol the pack’s territory regularly and to report to the Lead Fighter after every patrol.
Hunters: The Hunters are those wolves/dogs who are exceptionally skilled at tracking and hunting down prey. The Hunters make sure that the Pack has a full abundance of food. Hunters can hunt along with the Alpha and/or Beta or any other member of the pack. They report directly to the Lead Hunter.
Scouts: Scouts are the wolves/dogs who go out and gain information about the opposing pack. They should be stealthy, and be able to move swiftly and silently. They also must be fast encase they get found out and have to make a quick get-away. All information obtained must be given directly to the Lead Fighter.
Elders: The Elders are highly respected wolves/dogs, which once held a rank, but are now retired. They have earned the right to relax their days away and often watch pups and spin tales for them. They may offer the Alphas advice, when asked for it.
Apprentices These are the wolves/dogs who are in training to become a rank within the pack. They are normally younger wolves/dogs who need experience before they can be trusted with a rank, but there have been cases in which older wolves/dogs have become Apprentices.
Mothers/Pup-sitters: These are the wolves/dogs who are either pregnant, have pups or who have no other rank in the pack. They spend there time tending and watching over the pups.
Pups: Lastly, we have the Pups who are at the bottom of the pack. Pups are the packs next generation and are protected and cherished at all times.
Note: Everything you need to do has a * next to it, the rest is optional but remember the more detail you put in, the more likely you will get a higher rank.

In Character Rules
• Try to post at least a paragraph (which is about a minimum of four sentences long)
• Try and keep as active as possible.
• Ask permission before injuring, becoming mates with or killing another person’s character(s).
• No God Moding or Power Playing (do not control other people's characters without permission)
• Use proper grammar and spelling as much as you can.
• At the moment, there isn't a certain character limit. You may have as many characters as you want as long as you keep them all active.
• Please be as creative as possible with your posts, it makes the Role Play more interesting.
• Remember, your character isn't perfect! Not everyone will like your character, just deal with it and move on.
• Ginger Collie and ItsARevolution are your GMs, you must worship us. (Nah, you get my point, we love you all really!) Though try not to argue with us, because we will just kick you... up the butt and turn you into pie. Our word is the final word.
• This is a semi-realistic role play, so please be REALISTIC! If I slap you around the face, punch you in the stomach, smack your head into a wall and maybe shoot you a few times in the heart, I do not expect you to get up like nothing had happened, and do a couple of back flips and magically feel no pain. Act as if you would in real life. That also counts for other unrealistic things. You wouldn’t find random buildings or tables, etc in the wildness, would you?
• If your character gets injuries at any time throughout the role play, remember to stick with it! A few hours later of breaking a leg, your character shouldn’t be up and running across a field like normal, should they? I know it can get boring role playing an old injury but once your character get injured, stick with it!
• Only the GMs have permission to accept or deny someone's character sheet, nobody else.
• Pay attention to what others have written before you post. Nothing is more annoying when players post without having even looked at the post made before them. If there is any error or miscommunication then we will discuss it in the OOC.
• If you cannot or don't want to be in this RPG any more, then please kill your character(s) off respectively. No 'Bobby then died' phrases were you don't describe how in the world he was killed.
Out of Character Rules
• Try to be at least a little bit civil. We do not expect you to love everyone, but please refrain yourself from being a brat. Thank you.
• Do not demand things, if you would like me or anyone else to maybe update or do something for, ask politely. Demanding things will probably end up with you getting smacked.
• No bullying or picking on another player.
• Take any arguments to PMs, no one else wants to listen to your bickering.
• Do not publicly bash people. If you have a problem with someone, then please message one of the GMs and we will deal with it.
• Us GMs, we are both human too! I am very sorry if we forget to update something or do this. We do have lives, please respect that. We will do the best we can.
• Me and ItsARevolution have the right to change any of the rules at any time when we see fit.
Character Creation Rules
• No supernatural powers.
• Please limit all abnormal colourings and extras onto you character. Try and have natural colours and stuff.
• Follow the regulations on how much writing should be in your Form and where.
• Please delete the regulations from your form before posting (It makes it look so much more neater)
This Role Play was made by the most awesome ItsARevolution and Ginger Collie.
The Archaic Pack is located south-east of the Insurgent pack. The area is mostly made up of vast woodland, though there are areas of marsh and fields. In the hot summer months it is a desirable place, a thriving moist land, alive with life. The trees stretch high up towards the sky, as the prey is plenty. In the spring, the land is one of the first to flood as the marsh water rises and spills over into the woodland. It becomes a death trap waiting to suck its prey to the ground and suffocate it. Be careful where you step!
This is the list of prey that can be found in the area.
Note: Predators may not always attack adult wolves, but will kill and eat any pups they see/come across.
Hawks or any other bird of prey
The Insurgent Pack is located north-west of the Archaic Pack. The land is mostly made up of small cliffs with a little area of woodland and fields. This part used to be the most cherish land of the Wolves before the Dogs came and claimed it as their own. The land is unique in the fact that because it is raised, you can see most of the territory on the spot. Prey is becoming quite the rare sighting in the Dogs territory. Due to over hunting, there is not much food to go around in this area.
Lead Fighter: Alias (ItsARevolution)
This is the list of prey that can be found in the area:
Warning: There is not much prey in this area any more due to the Dogs over hunting them all and not letting them have time to reproduce. This is only a list of prey that CAN be found, not that is always found.
Predators may not always attack adult wolves, but will kill and eat any pups they see/come across.
Hawks or any other bird of prey
The Uncharted Territory
The Uncharted Territory is a small field which is located right in between the two packs territory. An old, lifeless tree stands at the heart of this dead field. Both the Wolves and Dogs refer to it as T.U.T or Dead Man’s Land. At the moment, T.U.T is not owned by either of the packs. It was the same place where the two packs fought on September 5th. It’s where most of the fighting is done and where the two packs can call meetings at as it is neutral land. If either side dares to step foot in T.U.T, it is considered a challenge where both of the packs will fight to the death. It is the only place where fighting is permitted between the two packs outside the territories. Only the brave dare to walk upon The Uncharted Territory.
Once full of life, all that remains of the city is now just ruins and dust. After the nuclear explosion, all life was wiped out, leaving behind black smoke and rubble. Anyone that enters the City will most likely choke to death as the thick smoke still lingers around.
Questions and Answers
As with any new RPG, you probably have quite a few questions you would like to ask. So I’ve come up with a list of questions that I would normally bomb the GM of all my RPGs with. If you still have a question, feel free to ask away!
What season are we starting in? Late Winter/Early Spring.
What date is it? Friday, March 20th, 2049.
What is the weather like? It has just currently rained over night making the snow that was on the ground icy and slushy.
What is the main danger to the Insurgent Pack? Due to over hunting, there are very few animals left in their territory leaving many empty bellies as food is scarce.
What is the main danger to the Archaic Pack? As the winter snow melts, the marsh waters are spilling onto the rest of the territory making the area a watery death trap.
How many characters am I allowed to have? As many as you like as long as you keep them all active.
Does my character have to be Canine? We would like as many characters as possible to be either a Wolf or Domestic Dog, but there can be a few exceptions depending on what you want your character to be. For further details, please message me.
Can I play a Hunter/Poacher? When we get deeper into the RPG, I might offer spots to play these roles.
What will happen if I break a rule? I will eat you. Haha, I’ll give you a warning, then another and on your third warning, you’re out.
Can I claim a mate with another wolf? Yes, you can, but you must ask there permission first.
What if I need to leave this RPG for any reason? Then you need to kill your character(s) off respectfully. If you don’t, after a month I’ll do it for you.
I have to go for x amount of time but I want to stay in this RPG, what do I do? You should then put your character(s) in a position where it isn’t interfering with anyone else’s in any way. If you don’t, we will simply drag your character(s) along.
