Shadow Bender

Devour
Shadows are pulled to encompass an individual, pushing out and rejecting all light produced by it, the pressure eventually snuffing out contained life force unless dissipated by a stronger light force. Far from perfected, but great for pest control.
Blend
Seeming to disappear, Adrian's form shifts to blend with the shadows, offering complete cover as long as the shadows remain. This form is also sustainable outside of the shadows for a short period of time, leaving his body a mist of darkness.
Heal
Darkness is thickly concentrated, capable of filling and mending wounds, so long as they are not fatal.
Shield
Darkness is manipulated into not only a physical shield, but also a mental shield, leaving his mind invulnerable to psychic attack. Physical shield not perfected.
Animation
Shadows of objects and personages animated. Limited amount of time.
Materialization
Darkness is manipulated into extensions of his own form and weapons. A katana is the only weapon form perfected.
Night Vision
Self explanatory.
Prison
Constricts and traps enemies in darkness.
Concentration
A concentrated projectile of shadows. Extremely limited use, as it drains considerable amounts of energy from the user.

Adrian isn't an overly sociable individual, often coming across cold and unfeeling despite any attempts he may make. It seems at times the only emotion he feels in anger, though that's quite far from the truth. Adrian has a very short temper, and has difficulty controlling his anger once it's been spiked. If not for his lack of personal control, Adrian would likely be in S-class, but he struggles not only with controlling himself, but also his power. When anger takes over, the darkness has a tendency to lash out as well. As a result of this, many students speak ill of Adrian, and avoid him all together. At times, Adrian may seem to have a split personality. Though even Adrian is unsure what triggers it, a strange sadistic side of him will occasionally rear it's ugly head, taking disturbing pleasure it other's strife. Adrian has been told by the headmaster that these breaks in his psyche are a direct result of darkness tainting his soul. For this reason Adrian meets often with staff, working extra exercises and the like in attempts to exorcise the dark infection.

Adrian's powers came to light quite early for a human, the result of a most unfortunate event. Adrian struggled in childhood, his mother stricken with depression, having took to drinking to quell her pain. His father was a very busy man, always at work, leaving little time for family. However, when he did have time, Adrian wound up with bruises and cuts. According to his father, his mother's drinking problem was always his fault, and Adrian certainly believed it. As such, he never complained, and never fought back. All in all, he was a very timid child, and would barely speak five words on a daily basis. Questions arose at school, though he always brushed it off, striking out at people who questioned his excuses.

Eventually, at the age of eight, Adrian offered up an excuse that a friend certainly didn't fall for. The principal heard wind of Adrian's home life, and called his parents to the school. When Adrian arrived in the principal's office, there stood his parents, the principal, a counselor and two police officers. It was all to obvious where this was going, and Adrian felt something he'd never felt before; anger, bubbling deep within him, an unbearable sense of burning cold consuming his body as the adults spoke around him. When the police officer moved to arrest his parents, Adrian felt as if he imploded, the burning cold rushing from his body into the atmosphere. A flat blast of darkness overtook the school, leaving it in shambles, all those who were inside now dead; including his parents.

Adrian ran, as far as he could manage. Apparently word would never reach society that it was him. According to the news, it was some sort of terrorist bombing, implemented by a boy who used to attend the school. It mattered not that no one knew, however; Adrian knew, and he wasn't sure what to do with these feelings. Though average human society hadn't heard of Adrian, the Guardians and their superiors certainly had. Adrian became a part of many patrols, the young boy having taken to living on the streets without an education. As he grew, the Guardians watched over him, until he reached the age of sixteen. By then, he'd gotten a job, and barely managed to afford a small apartment. Adrian was approached, and spoken to about his powers, offered a place at Gadian. It wasn't until a year later that Adrian chose to accept the offer.

Had it not been for Adrian's potential threat, he would likely have not been approached, but the council quickly realized he could be a strong enemy in the future, and leaving him to his devices proved far too dangerous for the world and it's inhabitants. The fact that a human could possess such powers still raises question amongst Guardians.


I'll keep it at one character for now, I think.

I was worried about that, not going to lie. xD I just had so many ideas. Basically, I chose to list all potential techniques, so he can't learn any more... but he's not necessarily too top notch with most of it either. Or, that's the thought, anyway. My CS didn't convey that very well, though. ^^;;
