A Certain Group of Psychics [IC]

It's a brand new story about youth, psychics and all the adventures that come with it.

    - - - Updated - - -

    August 25th, Saturday || 14:30 p.m.

It was the last Saturday before he had to worry about school and work everything in between. It wasn't that he disliked those things it was more like he was not exactly excited for it, yet. He was pretty sure that he'd get excited for them once the next week begins and he starts to finish his work on those assignments he was supposed to have started weeks ago, but he was pretty lazy about them so they have been on hold. He knew full well that he'll work on those next week, the actual last week of summer vacation.

He stretched his arms up high as he yawned. It was a beautiful day so why the heck not. Today's goal, and not really a goal was to explore District 15 and all the wonderful shop they held. He really didn't have a good reason why, but expanding his map is always a good thing to do. Plus there was the added fun of discovering something new and exciting. The only ever drawback was that if he runs into some skill-out guys and thugs, but if that ever happened he's just run away with one of predetermined escape paths.

At the moment we will be moving to a new house wherein I may not have internet connection of any form. I will still be able to go online whenever I go to school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays because they have free internet, but the problem is they won't allow me to access this site for some reason.

One of my current ideas on how to access this site was for me to make use of the public library's internet, but even that may be tricky. I had an idea was that someone from an RP send me the posts made on the RP via email and I reply to them for that said person to post for me, but that would be taxing and I cannot impose that task to someone unless they volunteer. I came up with the compromise that maybe someone can send me just the details of what has happened and I can reply to them in short posts if again that's fine with the other person involved. As for the advanced RP's seeing as the short reply's won't really do justice to the story If it's okay with any of you then I hope that the idea of sending the individual posts would be okay.

If any on you who are in the RP with me has the time to spare then I will be most happy if any of you wish to volunteer, but if not then I will be okay with what decision you guys make.

To my 1x1 and own RP's here is what's going to happen. For the 1x1 if it's okay we can continue the story vie email as long as you want or until the arc ends with dignity. For my own RP I have already mentioned how the 1st arc should go and be followed so please feel free to continue that until the arc ends afterwars it is all up to you what happens and to the person who I will ask to be in charge after the arc ends if you guys want to continue the story.

As for now this is still all just conjecture seeing as that the person who will decide to get a home internet connection is not me. However I have with confidence that for at least a few weeks going onto months we will not have internet connection. Therefore if I disappear then please treat the characters I have made kindly and if possible kill them off with respect or throw the in the freezer until my eventual return.

Raku sat in a small cafe with a strawberry milkshake in front of her, she had just arrived back at Academy City last night after she had been to visit her parents for her summer vacation. Raku sigh and takes a sip of he milkshake, it was always a bit sad to leave home, she was only fifteen after all she missed being with her parents but she understood their reasons for sending her here, they wanted her to have the best education in how to use her gift as an Esper as possible and the best education for her kind was right here. Raku finished her milkshake as she glanced at the people coming and going from the cafe, perhaps she should do something with her last few days of vacation rather than just sitting here, she did need some school supplies so perhaps she should go explore the city a bit and go shopping? Once Raku decided on what she wanted to do she stood, left money for her drink and left the cafe.

One hour later Raku was still wandering the city, she had a white plastic bag filled with some pens, notebooks and other school supplies in one hand and she had just reached the entrance to District 15, that was a rough part of town, but it was said to also have so many interesting shops and people. Raku bit her lips and considered for a moment, going in there alone probably was not wise, but she could not be wise all the time so the young woman gave herself an encouraging smile and continued walking into District 15, it was time to learn a bit more about this city and what wonders it held.

Trying to bribe the weather was not an option in Academy City, given how accurate weather forecasts in the city were. Thanks to this, Shiroji has had to find a creative way to spend the last days of summer break. This had never been a problem before since visiting his parents - which he decided against this year - usually left him wanting nothing more than laze around in bed around this time. Not to say that he wasn't tempted to stay at home anyway, but the long list of half-finished assignments haunting the floor of his bedroom convinced him otherwise. He felt that writing another report would have forced him to bash himself in the head with an iron pipe. Fortunately, living in Academy meant that there was always something around the corner.

After several hours of aimlessly wandering around the city, Shiroji found that it was only a manner of speaking, as nothing of interest had happened aside from a late lunch. He slumped into his seat with a sigh as he idly played with the leftover scraps left on his place, contemplating that staying in the city was a mistake and how it was too late now. For now, it seemed that he had to make do with watching people walk by the window which offered a small measure of relief from boredom. It was fortunate that District 15 was a hub of activity, both tasteful and otherwise. Maybe something might actually happen before the day ends?

Raku had visited two more stores in District 15. In once she had bought some spices that would be good to use when she used the small cooking plate in her room, buying all her meals at the school cafeteria got expensive so Raku had gotten some pots and a hot plate last year and now with these spices she could make some more interesting dishes. The second thing Raku had bought was a handmade notebook decorated with strawberries on the cover, the book was just so cute and Raku decided she would use it as a diary.

After the young Esper had wandered around for some time looking in stores and at the other people passing by Raku decided to get a cup of tea and take a rest. After a bit of looking around the young girl found a small cafe and sat down, it was good to be off her feet after so much walking around. Raku asked the young, sweet waitress for a cup of herbal tea once she came by her table and then she just leaned back to relax, everyone said District 15 was dangerous but so far Raku had not seen anything to bad, just other shoppers scurrying around from store to store, perhaps this place was not that bad after all.

Wandering around the city was always one of his habits, even as a kid he wandered around their small town. This city however was not wander friendly, it was a lot easier to get lost in, even with his powers. All he needed was a bit of time until he had a solid grasp on the outline of District 15, filling that in was going to be much easier. He knew that his place was south by south east of his current location so, just like any decent wandering explorer he went of to the opposite direction north by northwest. This path he took, a public path filled with coffee shops and pastry shops was crowded with people from students to tourist who were busy exploring the wanders of the city.

He turned at the street corner and waited for the light to walk. The walking mas flashed green and he moved forward. He crossed the street and now he was in DIstrict 15's center park, it was a fairly large park in comparison to the other parks in the other Districts, but then again District 15 catered to the public eye. It was only rational that the only real danger in this place was the common hoodlum hanging around in alleys and the occasional thief or robber.

"I should get some rest." He said because he was feeling lazy.

The dreaded menace of school was coming up, a trial filled with one-sided curbstomping of grades by her friend, and a complete lack of cute, hot-blooded guys at her no-name esper school. Kikiwa anticipated the mind-numbing boredom to come, and decided that she didn't want to spend the rest of the day doing nothing other than watch Kiyuri sleep. It looked like the psychometer had pulled another all-nighter of video-gaming and, poking her cheeks with a finger, Kikiwa wondered how on earth someone like that could be getting grades high enough to get into Tokiwidai Middle School. Honestly, just a few years ago, the blue-haired girl lacked more common sense than a baby, and now? She was at least smarter than one. Sighing and rolling like a dead fish on her own futon, the dark-haired heterochromatic pushed herself up, discarded the nefarious idea of snapping perverted photos of Kiyuri to blackmail her into doing the telekinetic's homework, and then stretched backwards. She bent backwards enough that her hands touched the futon once more, before the girl straightened her spine once more. It was the last day that she could sleep so late, after all. Might as well enjoy the cold sun.

Swiping her cellphone from the counter as she left the dorm room, Kikiwa flipped it open as she shut the door with her foot. The automatic lock clicked behind her, and with the knowledge that only Houdini could break into the room now, she started to browse. District 15 had some nice discounts that day, and there WAS that stupidly expensive parfait that she wanted to try. Heck, she had to do all of Kiyuri's laundry by hand for two months just so she could borrow her debit card for the day, so she'd be damned if she didn't eat it. Of course, there was a certain person she'd like to eat it with...

She pushed those embarrassing thoughts away in an instant, and instead occupied herself with running the rest of the way to District 15, if only to give her a reason for having a flushed face.

    Her chest opens
A fleeting glimpse of a gloomy crevice
Blossoming ribs in place of the heart she lost
    There's death's devouring nothingness
An empty shell made to live
An empty chest, without a heart.

Raku sat enjoying her tea when she noticed a boy who seamed to be wandering around wondering where to go next. Raku sipped her tea, she believed she had seen the boy before though he went to another school than her, but there had been a field trip with students from several high schools and she had seen him there, though off course she could be mistaken. Raku decided to speak to the boy in either case, it might be to forward but the young Esper was getting board and it might be nice to have a bit of conversation. The cafe Raku was sitting in had a large, open porch where many patrons, including the young Esper where enjoying their food and drink.
"Ehm...hello, I think I have seen you at a school field trip once."
Raku said with a smile, it might be a goofy introduction to call after someone but it was better than nothing.
"I am sorry to bother you, but if you are looking for a place to eat this establishment do seam to be rather good. My name is Aizawa Raku by the way."
    Raku gave another smile.
"You probably think I am insane or something now, but I was just looking for some company over tea and wanted to say hi, since I have seen you before, I hope you do not think me a bother, for if you do please feel free to just ignore me."

The cafe where Shiroji enjoyed his meal had a noticeably different design from most of the other buildings in the city. Even the patio alone had a distinctly traditional western feel to it with faux-handcarved wooden rails separating the area from the sidewalk. With the sun at its peak, the boy found the shade provided by the large parasol planted beside his seat to be a very tempting invitation to surrender to the idyllic atmosphere. If some keener hadn't thought of the torture that was homework during school breaks, he could have enjoyed the gift of uninterrupted sleep on his bed - which was now a refuge under siege, with notebooks scattered around it. With a sigh, he shifted from his slumped position to rest his head an arm that he had laid across the table. Focusing on the ceramic plate that held what was left of his lunch, content to phase out and let the minute tick by.

Needless to say, he was surprised when he heard voice address him from behind. Shifting to turn his head towards its source, he found his attention taken from used tableware to a girl who could looked like she could be described quite perfectly with the same words as her smile: awkward but pleasant. It reminded him of his youth, when he played champion for the neighborhood children. He was certain that she was not one of his childhood acquaintances, but something about her seemed familiar - enough that he easily accepted the girl's introduction. Shiroji looked at her blankly for a second as he stretched his arms wide before he returning her smile and offering the empty seat across the table with an exaggerated gesture.

"Don't worry." He exclaimed with a small yawn, rubbing an eyes to chase away drowsiness. Taking a sip from his own half-empty glass of iced-tea, he continued. "You're not being a bother at all, in fact, you just saved me from falling asleep out here. Feel free to say 'hi' all you'd like, though I don't drink tea unless its sweetened and cold."

After a brief pause, during which he didn't drop the smile on his face, he extended a hand towards the girl and introduced himself. "Fujiwara Shiroji. Pleasure to officially meet you, Aizawa-san."

Out of the corner of his eyes he saw a small cafe that he knew served good food. He also knew they served good chocolate and strawberry mint flavored coffee, odd in taste, but very delicious. "Might as well" He said to himself as he walked over to the cafe on the other end of the street.

He pushed open the door and was greeted by a nice waitress. He ordered his coffee with a side piece of thick walnut bread. It was quite a good thing that the food in this place was not ridiculously pricey. It was not cheap, but way better than most. "One chocolate and strawberry mint flavored coffee, no sugar, no milk, no foam and one walnut bread." the barista called out. It was rather embarrassing, his coffee order was not exactly traditional for guys. He stood up from where he was sitting and took his order, when he cam back his chair was now occupied by two girls who had flowers on their hair.

He went out to the large open porch and was again struck by the lac of seating. This place was rather famous so it was to be expected. He saw an opening at a corner table and decided to take it. There was one problem though, a guy was sitting on it. This dude was talking to another woman at a table maybe he can still have a seat. "Umm, excuse me, but would you mind if I take this seat? Plus wouldn't you rather seat with her?" He smiled a it and hoped for the best.

"You promised something unhealthy today!" cried the tiny voice of a messy-haired girl. The petite sister puffed out her cheeks and crossed her arms dejectedly, trying her best to put on the best 'do what I want or else something extremely vague will happen' face to her elder brother. Taiju could barely fathom the reminder, in no way able to recall a single day he said he would allow his precious little sister to scarf down fattening meals instead of home-cooked and freshly-made-with-love dinners. Maybe she was tricking him. Taiju had risen from bed moments after his sister Mimi pestered him to make breakfast, which took a staggering few minutes to make; two scrambled eggs. Even with that plate gone, it seemed she was already itching for sweets of some kind, evident by her desire for a take-out meal. It wasn't happening.

"I don't recall anything such thing," Taiju replied dully, grabbing his messenger bag and heading for the door. Mimi pounded the couch she sat upon with her fists before huffing and falling over. Taiju won. With a quick goodbye, the brother exited the small apartment and headed for District 15, knowing full well when and where to get the best bang for your buck when it came to meal ingredients. As it was, Taiju was particularly health-concerned, and never settled for anything less than the most healthiest foods where possible. If he had the time to make dinner, he did. All other times, it was a snack he knew wasn't of particularly noteworthy unhealthiness. Of course, he occasionally had a craving for sweets.

With an unassuming, casual gait, Taiju walked along the sidewalk for the shopping district. That is, he would have continued walking if it wasn't for some parrot-colored girl running into his back and nearly knocking him over.
