"You know him more than I do... Would he be okay with his daughter being in a relationship with the man he hired to keep you safe..?" He asked quietly, taking her hand.
"Would it be horrible," Clara asked as she pulled on her shirt, "If I told Papa about us?" She asked quietly, turning to face Jones. She reached to him, finding his arm then moving to his face so she could look at him properly, "I don't want to hide us, whatever we are."

"You know him more than I do... Would he be okay with his daughter being in a relationship with the man he hired to keep you safe..?" He asked quietly, taking her hand.
"I think we would be happy I'm interested in a man!" She laughed, "I haven't gone on anything that resembles a date in years!" Sitting on the bed, still holding Jones' hand she let her eyes travel around the room, imagining what it would look like, "What about you? Someone as good looking as you can't be a single man for long."

Jones shook his head, even if she couldn't see it. "I've had dates, small relationships, flirts... But nothing serious at all. They didn't have anything I was looking for..." He held her hand tighter. "They didn't care about people, only appearances, and money, and what will get them through the day... You're different."
Clara blushed but smiled, "I'm not really, I can be selfish and petty. I get jealous easily..." After a moment she stood and hugged Jones, "You, Jones Brado, are so different. You don't care about my family, my money. You're honest with me, I know you won't lie to me."

Jones hugged her as passionately as a hug could. But of all those things, Honest he wasn't. Sure, he could tell her anything about his activities, how he knows things, where he went to school, and if she asked if he loved her, he would scream yes in a heartbeat... but he could never tell her why he was really here, and wondered how he could leave someone he cared deeply about here while he went back to his regular life... The feel of her breath on his neck was welcoming, the feel of her fingertips on his back were shocking, and the feel of her heartbeat on his body was incredible. He really wondered how he could convince himself to let go of her.
She loved how he held her, it was like nothing she'd ever felt before. Jones' touch was electrifying every part of her, her body was on fire. Clara knew she had to tell her father about them how much she loved Jones, and she knew he would give them his blessing. Finally she leaned back, keeping her body pressed against him, "Jones," She said, touching his face with her fingers, "I love you," She breathed.

Jones loved those words. Those three words that sent energy up his body. He knew for certain that he couldn't leave for New York... He smiled at her, loving the touch of her fingers. "I love you too..." He said with a happy laugh. "I love you." He said louder, realizing his words. Not once has he ever said that to a woman, and he truly meant it. "I will scream this to all of Venice if you want...!" He said, staring at the beauty.
Clara smiled brightly at his words, hearing the smile in his voice. She loved that smile, how his face brightened when he let her see that genuine smile. Her stomach fluttered happily, "I don't think you need to announce it to everyone, just yet," She giggled then asked, "Could you come with me to tell Papa?"

"He ordered me to be with you for good from now on... So I don't have much choice..." He said, kissing her and feeling overjoyed, although quite nervous about the confrontation of her father... If he disapproves, what would happen to him? Would he just get exiled, would he get killed? Would Clara run away with him to go to America and share his life with her? He didn't know. All he knew is that Clara wanted this, and he will do this for her.
