Name: Reyu Bates
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Species: Human (Spiritual Pact Bearer "Energy")
Birthdate: July 20, 1862
Personality: Reyu is seen as a calm, loyal, and noble young woman, which explains why she is favored a lot from men to be her suitor. Usually, she's very caring and would do anything to get a loved or close one what they need most at the time. It's unlikely to see her show anger or aggression, but that is only as a noblewoman to be exact. As a noblewoman, she has no need for work as the head of the family would provide her a living, so during times when no one is keeping watch of her, she reveals her more "free" side as she becomes quite rowdy and loses all sense of classic manner. Besides the fact she is a real tomboy of a noblewoman, she takes great interest in swordfighting and basic fist fighting. She comments that it's her "way of excessing her stress and anger", without the worry of putting it on someone else. Adding onto her warrior-like persona, Reyu could be considered a rebel as she disagrees with certain things that the country has to offer for the people, and sometimes uses her noblewoman status to help out those in need. As much as she is a rebel, she also is quite a person that debates for proper things, which is the only noble thing that she's ever taken a liking of than being in a position such as marriage.
Bio: Born in Kyoto, Japan, she was with her biological family for only two years as she was soon separated from them. On 1864, Reyu was ported out of Japan and into Manchester, England, a few months before the Hamaguri Rebellion occured that same year. From there, she was adopted by a noble family, the Bates family, as the head of the family wanted to adopt a Japanese child.
During her childhood, Reyu was usually picked on by her own siblings after her adoption since she was different than a noblewoman should be. Reyu constantly ignored and paid no attention as her mother tried to home school her about usual manners and behavior. Deciding that sooner or later she would be forced to inherit the lessons, Reyu "pretended" to listen and displayed her qualities as a noblewoman.
It was truly frustrating for her, and that Reyu didn't really like this system that she has to go through. As she reached the age 19, she had a run in with a young girl named Maiko Keru, who worked as a maid at a bar and is also a Japanese that was transfered into England before the Hamaguri Rebellion began. Maiko mentioned to her that if Reyu didn't like her status as a noblewoman, she could show her a secret alternative during her break. considering that this might be the only chance to relieve herself from such circumstances, Reyu agrees and is led by Maiko into an underground training area that is filled with swords and all kinds of weapons, and that it was somewhere in the sewer lines of the urban area of Manchester. During the next 7 years until her present age, Reyu lived a double life, shifting between the proper life as a noble, and the rigorous but free life as a secret mercenary.
In the time of the age 26, she is being bombarded by many suitors that wish to take her hand in marriage, but has denied every single one of her suitors as she wishes not to marry yet with the excuse that she is not ready for a commitment like this when she really doesn't want to marry in her entire life. During this time period, her connections to Maiko and the other hidden mercenaries that are a part of the same organization Reyu is in are bare as she is kept in with her family more than often because of marriage preparations. While being persuaded to marry another suitor that gives her no interest at all, there is a commotion outside her homestead and the house is suddenly broken in by many strange creatures that had an appearance of demons. Forced out of the house by her father and the head of the family, he and her brothers stay in the house to battle the demons as Reyu and the rest of her family were escorted out and into the urban area of Manchester. During the escape, she sneaks away and goes to find Maiko, but suddenly blacks out for a strange reason.
She wakes up in her subconscious, and finds a strange spirit, Miki, speaking to her. Miki offers a power to strengthen her will to protect others and the ones that have meaning in her perspective of the world, the Spiritual Pact of Energy. For a moment, Reyu hestitates as she thinks that this is all a dream and that there is no meaning in it, until Miki reveals to her that Manchester is slowly falling to the grasps of the demons and that only one associated with a pact has enough power to slay the demons. Then Reyu accepts with some doubt and is reawakened into the real world. There she wakes up to see Maiko with her, glad that she is fine but that the city is being invaded by the demons. Seeing the only option is to fight the demons off, Reyu immediately adapts to the basics of the pact's powers and uses her main sword, Aurora, and easily diminishes the demons without much effort.
Having the feeling that the pact will involve her more into than just demons, Reyu goes to train herself more in the Living World and the Spirit World, and is accompanied by Maiko, a fellow mercenary, Crovax, and her brother, Darren.
Abilities/Skills:
*Manipulation of Energy: Her control over energy, as a part of her spiritual pact, is what some could say over the top, as she was able to master the Partial and Full modes in just a few days. In Partial Mode, she is limited to basic energy manipulation and nothing else. In Full Mode, she shifts into a more ancient appearance and gains access to her Ultimate Limits and the powerful "Lifestream".
*Sword Wielding: Experienced in sword fighting for seven years, she is above average than most in wielding a sword potentially, but isn't really that great as of now as she was easily knocked down by several bandits before her pact was created. Ever since getting the pact though, her sword fighting improves slightly as she can use some energy to enhance her strength and reflex in the sword wielding art.
*Stategetic Sense: As a noblewoman, debater, and mercenary, Reyu has more than enough time to become a great strategist. During her early 20s, she was able to singularly convince a large group of people to help her lead a political strike at the government, and at one time, she was able to trick a shop owner to a trap to steal his keys and get the needed money to give to those in need.
*"Lifestream": With the possession of Mystic Soul Fragments of Aria, Reyu was able to activate a special Lifestream that didn't need the sacrifice of a soul piece in order to use it. Instead, it can only be used once a day and that instead of a powerful enhancement in her pact element, which is energy, Reyu can use all pact elements that are given out from the spirit world and are given the primary weapons of all the current pact bearers through telekinesis. As she uses this "Lifestream" to her advantage, at some points she can activate a more superior version of it called the "Absolute Lifestream" that gives her more abilities that she is almost as equal in power as a spirit in the Spirit World.
Weapons:
*Aurora: Her first weapon ever since becoming a mercenary, and the primary weapon in her pact. Reyu has other swords in her possession, but favors Aurora more as it is much lighter and compatible to her fighting style. As she activates her "Lifestream", Aurora is affected as well and shifted into "Crystal Aurora", which makes it like a holy sword.
*BroadBurn: Another sword that was made for her from her brother, Darren, and it is more for her power hits as it is very bulky in shape. It isn't used as much as it is too heavy for swift moves that Reyu would normally perform.
