The city of Anheldrim

The story

The flourishing of art in the new age brought big changes to the culture of this world. Those that predominate in this society are the artists. Writers, Musicians, Painters, Sculptors, etc.

This is a world that shines thanks to the wonders of art. Those that is most valuated, those that it cames from the heart, and although this isn’t a law precisely, this is an implicit fact that society respects.

But that is not the only thing that is unique from this world, but also that fantastic element proper of this tale. It could be considered magic, however is something completely different. This power is called “Expression” , and it is the manifestation of the “Art beyond the simple concept of Art”. Great musicians that literally create life while playing melodies from the deepest part of their souls. Painters that carve reality with their painting and they can even modified it. Writers able to maniphest their words into reality. Yes!!, in this society, in this world the art maniphests with essence, and this is precisely the fantastic element.

However besides the art, there is another predominant element, and it is religion. The population of this world are great devotees to their god, and a lot of the art is a tribute to it. Of course a lot of the art is inspired by it. The name of this god is Atahlia.

Out of character info

The characters in this story are citizens of this world. Precisely of one city in the one the story will begin, the city of Anheldrim. A city in the one the biggest exposition halls, biggest concert halls, biggest congress of arts are located, in other words, a city where the main artistic events are realized.

They had been born into this world filled with art, and due to this they’re used to it of course. But also remember the art is expressed into energy, this giving them powers similar to magic. So they’re also used to it. But as the heart of every person is different, their inspirations and creations are too, and thus their powers differ.

Another element to consider is that the religion is an important factor in their life, It’s not strange if many are blind followers of Atahlia’s church.

Regarding the plot, first consider that although this could seem to be a very light or bright setting for a story, it’s not. In fact I plan to make it a very dark one.

There will be numerous murders of unknown origin, of course the murderer is pursued, but no clue is reached. But once an important figure is murdered, the characters will decide to enter into this investigation, and using their Expression’s skills will try their best to find and punish the true culprit behind these events. Of course this will be only the leading point, as obviously expected, plot twist are to happen.

Oh also, although you can play a bit like detective, this isn’t a mystery but fantasy, remember that.

TL;DR Summary

-This is a fantasy story, but not a medieval or common fantasy, indeed a different one.

-It will be a Casual RPG

-It’s a PART III, But you don’t need to know the first two to play it. In fact I prefer if players have no idea. Reason why every part is done on different forums.

-Regarding inspiration. Well, Stephen King, Shin Megami Tensei, Nasuverse (Type Moon) and When They Cry (07th Expansion)

-The setting is a world in a period similar to renaissance, but with elements of the modern culture, like cars or computers. Still picture the architecture and behavior based on this period.

-The main elements into this culture will be two. Art and Religion.

-The story will be a dark and mature one, so if you’re sensible avoid it. On the other hand, you’re allowed to destroy your character happiness as much as you want to.

-Skills are art based, so your characters must be executing the art to execute their skills.

-A lot of interaction between characters will be ok.

-You can have more than one character, it can play any role, even antagonist roles. Also if you want to have an special plan with your character, you’re free to PM it to me

Background: Optional, also you can ommit information if you wish to

Art: This can be any kind of art, not only the examples I showed. But the idea is that your character is devoted to one single art

Expression: Here you won’t describe the skills of the character, but the manifestation that will guide its skills. For example, you could say that via playing the flute X character can control sound waves to a certain degree, etc.

Skills: Now here you’ll post the skills indeed. Gave a name to the skill and explain how it works and its limitations. At the beginning a maximum of two skills are allowed, but you will be granted to develop more in the future

Other:

NOTE: Be imaginative with skills, do not limit to your typical elemental magic (although it is allowed). But also try to be more haxx if you want to. For example skills able to temporally create laws are a good idea.

Hrm, this sounds pretty interesting. Been wanting to play a character with a character with some sort of ability and art based abilities could be neat.

Heh, that will require some thought(and probably seeing what other people do first cuz shes slow) but should have an idea fairly soon

Example.

A guitarrist, whose skill is to control weather while playing certain kind of music with the guitar. The Expression would be for example to cause a lightning to fall while touching certain notes.

A painter, whose skill would be to carve painting into other elements. Kinda it paints fire on the clothes or ground and it ignites, etc.
