Naruto: Sins of the Father 1x1 (Pacifista and Hillan)

As the sun sank to the horizon in the forested Land of Fire, a secluded spot near a riverside in the north fell to the darkness sooner, due to its position in a valley, hills peaking around the landscape. The Hidden Uchiha Village was kept so due to the vigilance of its guard and it’s hidden, out of the way spot. Even a boat passing by might not see the village, but this route was unpopular due to faster ones existing and the presence of ‘bandits’, though no such thieves had ever been seen, only existing in rumor.

But the central square of that village stirred, as the sunset had a particular event scheduled.

Execution by hanging. The criminals had been found guilty of conspiracy and treason. The four of them were led in a line to the platform, where four nooses hung, waiting to be wrapped around guilty necks. At the front of the line was Uchiha Amaruku, prime offender in the conspiracy, revealed to have been planning a coup against the village leaders. He and his family were to be sent to death for no other reason that they were in on it. While it was believed he told more than just his family, the only one to reveal that knowledge was his friend, Uchiha Yumaru, who turned him and his family over to the village leaders. Anyone else who knew were wise to keep their mouth shut, and ‘Scarlet Reaper’ Amaruku was not so petty a man so as to bring as many of his co-conspirators down the rope with him as he could.

Behind the prime offender were the ones who didn’t say a word about it until it was too late for them. Uchiha Kimiko, a simple cloth weaver and maker of light cloth armors, had tears silently running down her face at her imminent death. Third in line, staring a hole in the back of her father’s head was Uchiha Kamiko, the oldest child and only daughter, one of the villages few female ninja. At the rear was Uchiha Ariama, the youngest child, possibly with the most potential of Amaruku’s children.

They were forced up the platform and stood in front of the nooses meant for them, executioner standing by, leering as he waited. In moments, the robes Chief of the Uchiha clan approached, wrinkles and graying sideburns showing his age, long black hair and flanked by two men with their Sharingan active. The square quieted as he appeared, and was otherwise silent as he began to order the deaths of the traitors, listing their crimes. As he spoke Amaruku’s hands twitched in the chains keeping them behind his back, which were surprisingly loose. Perhaps to give the family a chance at escape? It was not unusual either, and the armed men around were practically expecting it. In fact, they’d have been more disappointed if the family to be executed hadn’t tried to escape.

Ari's mind was wondering, as he was lead up onto the tiny platform. Ari had been positioned beside his father, whom apparently was a traitor, Ari couldn't believe that, surely, he was framed. Ari was frowning, but he wasn't scared, no. His mother was crying, his face was straight, just like his dad's. Ari was a warrior, he wasn't phased by the face of death. if anything, he embraced death. He knew that he could've died at any given moment. However, that it would be by execution, by his own clan.. Well, that was a little uncalled for.

His father sighed in relief, as the Clan Chief came forward, and began reading their last-rites. "Ari. Don't be afraid." The eldest said to his son. Whom nodded. " I'm not afraid to die, Dad." He responded, trying to sound as brave as he could. His father gave out a brief chuckle. " Good. Not that it will matter."

" What do you mean, father?" Ari asked when his dad looked at him. " You're not dying today." And with that, and one wasp off his left arm, the bindings that held the Scarlet Reaper in binds was opened. How? Ari could never figure out. In one rapid movement, his father had pushed away the guard next to him, as the Chief's guards was attacking, using their Great FireBall technique, he did a few handseals, and pushed his hand into the ground.

A big dome of earth came and surrounded him and his family. He began untying his wife, and then his children. " How did you do this?" their mother asked him, crying. " Don't worry, my love. Take the children, and leave. I'm the one who committed the crimes, you shouldn't have to pay for them. " Amaruko had told his wife and his children, as he pulled them in for a hug, all of them at the same time.

" Now. Go." He told them, as the wall was about the be penetrated by the armed soldiers. With one smack of his hand, a tunnel had been formed, for them to get out into the woods, away from the battlefield. Ari waited for his sister to hop in first, as he looked at his dad, one last glance that said it all, as his father activated his Sharingan. " Take care of your mother and your sister for me."

Ari nodded, as he hopped down, looking up, waiting for his mother to come after, but she wouldn't leave her husband's side. Amaruko closed the tunnel up again, as the light faded away, Ari could hear the battle-cries. How their mother screamed in pain, and their father shouted in rage in retaliation.

The Scarlet Reaper was no more.

Ari was sulking, as his sister had pulled him through the passage.

Standing stiffly next to her mother at the edge of the family standing on the platform, Uchiha Kamiko was frustrated at half a dozen things right now. Her noose, her father, his friend who sold him out, the Chief who would shut up, the guard standing to his side who wouldn’t stop leering at her, and even her mother’s crying, not that she didn’t have a good reason. She caught her father an Ari exchanging a few words. She only caught her brother’s first bit though, “I’m not afraid to die, Dad.” Miko bit her lip in frustration as the Chief raised his volume, trying keep attention on himself. Ariama didn’t deserve to die for any of this, and neither did she or their mother. But that was the Uchiha Clan for you, Kamiko thought bitterly.

Suddenly, the Scarlet Reaper burst into action, prompting the guards to move as well. Before the air devouring Fireball from one of the ones next to the Chief could engulf them, a dome of earth surrounded them. As Amaruku untied Ari and Kimiko, Kamiko took initiative and tried to undo her own bindings, but Amaruku untied her last, as she couldn’t figure out the trick. Miko tried not to get too bitter about it while Amaruku insisted that they shouldn’t have paid for his crimes. As he tried to pull his family in for a hug of farewell, Miko couldn’t help but go along with it. Inside, she wanted to lash out at the person who caused this: she didn’t want to leave their village or her few friends, but her body didn’t respond as Amaruku wrapped her in his arm.

He created a tunnel as the other Clan members began to break through the wall; none were more skilled in Earth Release among the Uchihas than the Scarlet Reaper. Kimiko gestured for Kamiko to go first, to which she complied. She waited for Ari or her mother to come down, but as long as the children were going to be fine, Kimiko was fine with dying, it seemed. After Ariama came down, the tunnel was sealed. Ari didn’t budge, and the screams and battle cries from above could still be heard. Not wanting to wait until the tunnel entrance was opened, Kamiko roughly grabbed Ariama’s arm, dragging him away.

She walked like this until they could no longer hear the sounds of battle. There were no signs of the tunnel ending, so she let go of Ariama just as roughly as she grabbed is, possibly causing him to lose his balance. “We need to move fast. Hurry up,” Miko said, her voice cracking a bit.

    Two days later:

Ari had just finished making camp, as his sister was out gather supplies. They were on the border of the land of fire. Currently in neutral territory. Ari knew the Uchiha's wouldn't send hunters after them. At least not out here, this was too close to Sarutobi territory. And fighting Sarutobi was not something the Uchiha's fancied. Too close to calling in Senju reinforcement, they were also pretty damn strong. Ari was thinking about a strategy to get out of the country, but so far, he had no clue how to do it. They couldn't leave as refugees. The Senju's had sensors that would detect their heritage. That would be bad.

He let out a sigh, as he breathed fire into the pieces of wood, it was darkening. The sun was setting, and Ari had went over their food supplies. they had less than two days left of food. That sure wasn't looking good. He let out another sigh, as he got out his sword, looking at the blade, black, with only the edge shining in the fire. It had been given to him by his father, he missed his dad, and his mother. He wanted to find out more about what the coup had been about. He was sure his dad had been set-up.

Now, he just had to wait for his sister to come back. He sighed, as he put the blade back.

Some distance away from the camp, Kamiko sought further necessary supplies. Food was a non-issue at the moment, but firewood and water were desired. Coming to the riverside with their canteens, she wished she had something else to put water in as she filled one of them, knowing that the water wasn’t clean, she’d have to boil the full one and drip the condensation into the other. Pain in the ass...

Gripping the bottle harder, she recalled the last couple days, as they purged their outfits of anything that could tie them to the Uchihas, removing anything with the symbols in particular. Pretending they were no longer associated with them wasn’t going to be easy, especially with their unique eyes, but they had no other option. Meanwhile Arisawa was just moping all the time. It was hard to plan anything when he was like this, since Miko expected him to just get over it at some point, but that seemed less and less likely.

Starting to get frustrated, Miko stomped her way back to the camp, getting back in not much time. She saw her brother, still moping as he looked over his sword, which once belonged to their father. She approached, standing over him, glaring down at him as she said, “Are we just going to live here for the rest of our lives?”
