[Fairy Tale Dreamer]

It was a new school year and everyone was getting ready for the school year. Many girls spent most of the summer getting tans, buying a new whole wardrobe to show off to everyone in school. Some girls that were even not popular did everything to try to fit in with the rest of the girls trying to be popular so they would not spend another year of being bullied. But one girl was different from the rest of the crowed and that was Samantha, Sammy or Sam for short. She was a fire cracker and a live one for she was actually a tomboy that didn't care about make-up, frilly clothes, or whatever else girls liked to wear. She wore shorts, a sports bra as a shirt, a jacket, sneakers, a cap, and her hair was short and choppy. Sammy was also a big skateboarder, gamer, and sports person she was just active. Even though she was not popular with the girls she was with the guys mainly as friends because of how energetic and good with a skateboard.

Sammy finished getting ready for school and rushed out of the house she lived in and used her skateboard to get to school. "Well another year of school man School is just getting way to boring now oh well at least I have my skateboard." She laughed as she kept riding down the street just enjoying ride to the school and just hoped that something exciting would happen for once at the school though she had no clue that there was going to be a new student entering the school which was going to make life a little more interesting.

*Beep beep beep!* Was the sound of Rune's alarm going off. He mumbled some words as he turned the annoying clock off. "Time already, I guess." He said to himself. Today marked the beginning of a new school year at a new school. That meant all new faces. It didn't really matter to him. Rune didn't have any friends at his last school. Sure, he had one or two acquaintances, but he didn't hang out with them outside of school. In fact they pretty much forgotten about him after school was over. Removing the blankets and getting out of bed Rune began his daily routine. He took a shower, got dress and ate breakfast before heading to school. He wore a white t-shirt under a blue buttoned shirt which he kept unbuttoned, a pair of blue jeans and some sneakers. The walk to his new wasn't that long, only about 15 minutes. Made him wonder why they didn't send him there in the first place. With ipod in hand and ear buds in well, his ears he walked past the small tower in the middle of the school entrance and right towards the doors. He didn't make eye contact with any other students and just kept to himself. It was better that way. Rune may be in a new school but to him he was going to be the same, a nobody.

Sammy rode in the school few minutes with a big smile as some the guys waved and said hi to her. "Hey Sammy good to see you again." One of the guys yelled. "You Skateboarding Sammy another year of school another year of witnessing your crazy board moves." Another guy said as Sammy waved to them not noticing someone was in her way and crazhed into Rune and landed ontop of him and noticed what happen. "Ah I am sorry I was not watching where I was going." Sammy said as she got up fast and helped him up. "I am so so sorry." She said again as she used her foot to pick her board up. "I am Sammy well really name is Samantha but everyone calls me Sam or Sammy." She said smiling and soon heard one of the guyscalling her. "Hey Sammy the teachers are looking for you saying somethign about wnating to give you a new schedual and locker number." He said. "Ok be right there." She siad as she looked at RUne. "Um once again very very sorry uh how about I treat you to lunch to make up for it just meet me in the cafetira now I better go talk to the teacher bye." She said as she quickly rushed off.

Rune of course was oblivious to it since he had his ear buds in. He fell to the ground upon Sam crashing into him, his ear buds flew out of his ears. Hearing Sam apologizing he simply replied with, "That's alright." before picking up his headphones and ipod. It got a few scratch on it but at least it wasn't broken. Rune turned to see Sam and froze. He didn't realize that he had crashed into a girl. Well she looked more like a tomboy but to him she looked beautiful. Not even the start of the school day and he already had a crush on a girl Sure Rune has had crushes on girls before but he never once tried to make a move mainly because of his low self-confidence and the fact that he was afraid of being rejected. He didn't get a chance to say anything else as she ran off. However he did hear her say she would treat him to lunch. Maybe then he could talk to her.....if he had the guts. The first half of the the day went like your basic first day. Teachers and students introduced themselves and of course homework on the first day. That's wasn't out of the ordinary. Lunch time finally came around. Rune looked around the cafeteria seeing all the students in their respective spots. Probably talking about what they did during the summer. Rune was looking for that one girl Sam from this morning. He wasn't really hoping that she would keep her word.

Sammy got everything situated with the her new locker and class schedule so she spent most of her day doing her thing except she kept thinking about that boy she accidentally crash into for she did feel bad for him because he had to experience something like that on his first day for he looked like a newbie to the school. After she was done with classes she rushed to the cafeteria and was trying to stop as she slide past Rune. "Hey there you are I was looking for you." She said as she tumbled to the ground. "Ow ok I am doing nothing but crashing and tumbling all over the place huh." Sammy said as she got back up and walked to Rune. "Um I never caught your name sorry was in a hurry because of the teachers."

"Oh um....m-my name is Rune. I-I'm new to this s-school." The teenage boy replied with. Rune sounded like he was really nervous. Then again he was always nervous when talking to girls especially ones that he had a crush on and since he just formed a crush on Sam talking to her was going to be a little difficult. He didn't want to end saying something stupid to her so he started off with a real simple question while he was scoping for a place for them to sit, hopefully away from the popular kids or bullies of the school. "S-So.....um....how..long have you've b-been going to this school?" Was the first question that Rune asked. A simple one, didn't want to make a fool out of himself on the first day.

Sammy smiled and patted his back. "Nice to meet you Rune you already know who I am since I introduce myself to you earlier still sorry for crashing into you." She said as she took his arm and pulled him. "Come on let's get some lunch then we can go eat outside after all it is a nice sunny day." She said laughing a little as she too him to the lunch line as some girls talked. "There goes Sammy again man she is such a guy what a freak she needs to grow up and act like a girl." One of the popuar girls said and Sammy heard it and yelled at her. 'At least I don't have a huge pimple on my nose." She said snickering and the other girl looked in her mirror and screamed at the top of her lungs as she ran out to take car of her nose. "And to answer your question on how long I have been here about a year in a half." Sammy said as she got in line with Run right behind her.

The loud screaming of the popular girl caused Rune to cover up his ear. Man did that girl, whoever she was, have a set of lungs. "I-I'm guess you must be real popular around here." Rune spoke. It must have been nice to have so many people talk to her. Rune was lucky if one person talked to him, even if it was just to borrow a pencil to which they never gave back. He was kind of surprised that Sam was taking a liking into him, or maybe it was just because she felt bad for crashing into him. The lunch line went by pretty quickly. As usual in any school the cafeteria food looked like crap. Rune decided to pick what looked like a chicken sandwich, some fires, and a chocolate milk.

"I am not that popular well mainly with the guys the girls hate me and call me a freak just because of the way I act and stuff so what if I don't like dressing like a princess I rather ride skateboards and do sports." Sammy said as she picked out food for the day. "Normally I would bring my lunch but forgot to make it last night so stuck with buying it today." She said laughing a little as she paid for the two lunches having more then enough money. "Alright lets go outside an eat I ill show you my favorite tree I like to climb and eat under." She said smiling as she lead the way and high fives some guys along the way. "Hey Rune do you think we can be friends." Sammy all of a sudden asked him as they made it to the tree.

Rune just kept silent as he followed Sammy to her favorite tree. Kind of cool how she was very popular with the guys. Almost every single one they walked by gave her a high five. As for some girls all they did was give her mean or disgusting looks. Why are they calling her a freak? Just because she different doesn't mean she's a freak. I guess that's one thing that Rune like about her. As they got to the tree his mind snapped out of his trance when he was asked if he wanted to be friends with her. "...F-Friends?" Rune was quite surprised. This was a first for him. Even at his old school no one would ever ask him if they wanted to be friends so the question caught him off guard. "Um....s-sure. I would like that." He replied with. Maybe things would finally change for him.
