"Oh... Don't be paranoid. Kuro has served the school for years." Chris said mocking Heise annoyed that he was actually right. "This sucks... Geez... Now we're in this situation..." He ranted. "And how lame and cliche can you get? I mean... Holding our friend captive?" He was so pissed he didn't even stopped to think about the current situation as anything more than stupid. Until Joseph hit punched him back to his senses. "Thanks..." Chris said shaking off the blow and sighing.

"Let he go." Joseph said as he stepped back pulling Heise by the back of his collar. "Don't you dare he said in a low serious tone. He was afraid Heise might try to attack despite the situation. "I don't care what's going on in that twisted head of your's, but she's your sister." He continued quietly. "We have to fall back or they'll kill her." He added.

"And if they kill her anyway? What then Emiya?" Chris asked making Joseph stop. He knew the question might have seriously bothered Joseph, but it needed to be done.

"Hey! Kuro! Can you guarantee Hana's safety if we back down?!" Joseph called out causing Chris to facepalm at how straight forward he was being.

"Of course. I'm not in the mood to kill anybody, unless of course you get in our way..." Kuro said politely. "Espada, Minerva - keep moving into the underground ruin. Once you have the artefact, leave immediately. Don't risk waiting for me." He ordered, to which the Espada nodded and ran down a set of stairs into darkness at. Minerva growled at not being able to fight Joseph or Hana, and left following Espada.

Heise hesitated for a moment, but lowered his sword. Kuro deceived them and the entire Academy, but he still believed the man could be trusted. Ideas flew around in his mind as to how he could get Hana back without catching her in one of his own attacks. Impossible...

Hana eased up after the other two took their leave, but that didn't change the fact that there was a gun to her head. "This is my fault, isn't it...?" She asked her friends sadly. Kuro shook his head, "My dear, Minerva is a born assassin with her magic. You had no chance of escaping, especially in such low visibility." He tried to cheer her up... wait, what?! "How is this supposed to make me feel better?!"

Joseph was a bit relieved. Despite being in a dangerous situation at the very least he knew Hana wouldn't be killed. "Hana. It's not your fault." He said after hearing her. It could have happened to anyone right? She just happened to be the target of a crazy bitch with a grudge.

Chris sighed. "So Kuro. How long do you think it'll take to get the artifact and get out?" He asked calmly. He was worried too, but he thought that maybe if they got Hana back quickly they might have a chance at getting the artifact back too. But honestly, it felt like any attempt would be futile. He didn't know what to do. Wait... Maybe he could create a portal behind Kuro and summon a creature to bind him.

As Joseph and Heise stood by a small portal barely noticeable opened behind Kuro. Joseph noticed, but made no move or gesture to avoid suspicion. Out crawled a rather large snake. In a quick move it forced itself between Kuro and Hana binding Kuro. If he struggled it would constrict. And if he couldn't it would bite. All that was left was for Hana to rejoin the group.

The moment he felt the concealed spike in magic frequency, Kuro would have pushed Hana away and had two materialising guns blast the Snake... But seeing as there was no need for violence, he simply stood there and waited.

Hana ran back to Joseph's side and turned to face Kuro, who she thought would've attacked. Surprise, surprise... "Th-thanks for not executing me?" She tried to thank him, to which Kuro just nodded at. "No need. Any moment now, Minerva & Espada will be finished." He mused politely. "...You have that strange way of making a lady feel completely-frickin'-useless." Hana muttered. "I suppose." Kuro shrugged off Hana's words.

Heise said nothing and walked past, the bracelet beginning to dim quickly. "There's still time. Let's move."

Joseph sighed in relief now that Hana was safe. "Thanks for not attacking Kuro." He said calmly glad Kuro was true to his word. "Are you..." Joseph was cut off when Chris hit him on the back. "Have a little faith next time." The 16-year-old said laughing a bit. He smirked and followed Heise. "Wait... Heise... Maybe one of us should stay here. In case they've already found the artifact or Kuro tries something." Joseph said quickly. Minerva's ability would be a problem regardless, but she wouldn't leave her teammate right? Regrouping would be smart whether they liked each other or not.

"Some enemy you are, pacifist." Heise grumbled, directed at Kuro. "I'll stay with him. Chris, Hana, Emiya - go after the other two. You'd stand no chance if Kuro broke free. I know his magic, and only I can counter it effectively." He insisted to them, revealing that he'd once worked alongside this man too. Weird, but at the same time, the Academy did consider him an ally until now.

Hana nodded and took Joseph's hand as she ran down the steps. "Leave it to us!" She called back up to Heise. "We'll all take Minerva together, if she can't grab ahold of that other guy to escape, then they're screwed. If we can defeat her quickly enough, then the other will have no choice but to give up." She said confidently. Now that they'd fought against Minerva, they knew exactly what to expect.

Joseph ran slightly being pulled along by Hana as he hadn't been prepared when she grabbed his hand and started running. "Having fun?" Chris asked laughing a bit as he ran by them. "Come on... It shouldn't be too hard to find them." He added smirking.

Joseph continued moving just relieved that Hana was okay. "Hana... You are okay right?" He asked as he looked around to make sure nothing could sneak up on them or sneak attack them.

"Of course. I've never been held hostage before though... but it was okay. Kuro never really aimed at me, always just off to the side. He's a good guy really... I think." Hana said with uncertainty, but appreciated the fact she hadn't taken a magic bullet to the face or something like that. Just ahead was another large door, light shining through underneath it. "Let's do this, use everything you've got right from the start!" She ordered the other two, kicking the door in and charging inside. Unusually, she was so much more confident than normal, reckless even. It was the Saito bloodline's.. 'trait'. True warriors who never backed down - when they developed their strange power, they had enhanced reflexes, immense strength and great spacial awareness. Heise had learned to control it a long time ago, only using his abilities at their full potential when he needed to fight seriously. Hana however was only just now awakening to it, and it was in this time that the Saito clansman would be restless for conflict.

Inside, were Espada and Minerva, and a small, runed black box in Espada's hand. "Shit! Gimme the box, I'll get it back to our Master!" Minerva ordered her comrade, Espada frowned and threw it to her, and she disappeared just as Hana's blade was unsheathed at throat-height. "Damn... Next time..." She said, annoyed.

"I'll kill her when I get back to base..." Espada had a pissed-off look about him now. They'd gotten past Kuro with their whole team intact, and Minerva had left him here to fight all three. "You know what? Come at me, all three of you! There's no time for games." He snapped at them, blood red magic auras took the shapes of scimitar-like blades on his arms and legs.

"Emiya! Hana!" Chris said as he stepped out in front of them. "If you don't mind... Could you two give me a chance to see if I can take him down? We've got a score to settle." He requested smirking as a portal opened beside him.

Out of the portal stepped a large lizard man.

"For now this guy will do. Lizard men have some of the strongest and most durable scales and body of all the creatures I know. They're seriously amazing." He said as the lizard man smirked. "So what do you two say?" He asked Joseph and Hana for their approval to allow him to fight alone for a bit.

Hana shrugged, sheathed her sword and leaned on the wall behind Chris. "Good luck! If you screw up, we'll dive in and save you!" She cheered her team mate on proudly. If you could call that cheering...

Espada dashed with extreme pace at the lizardman, swiping his arms with the same speed at it like he wielded tonfas. This blood red magic aura that he used to attack with could cut Magic itself, but the scales of this being? ...He'd have to test it for himself. His magic seemed to grow with his rage, and being left behind by Minerva had driven him near boiling point. He was out for a kill. He wanted Chris' head...
