Sure. I'm enough of a science nerd that if you want this to be a more accurate sci-fi story, I'm happy to agree.
Well I'm a sucker for fine Cuban cigars, The problem is I can't afford 'em, But last year I went and got myself a whole box, And just to be safe I insured 'em

I took out a policy against fire and theft, And then I hurried home, With a fifty-cent lighter I sat on my back steps, And I smoked 'em one by one

Two weeks later I went to see that insurance man, And I handed in my claim, With a straight face I told him that through a series of small fires, They'd all gone up in flames

They reviewed my case and they had no choice, But to pay me for what I'd done, And I took that check and bought a whole new box, And I smoked 'em one by one

Two weeks later this detective shows up, Tells me that company's pressin' charges, One speedy trial later they locked me up, On twenty-four separate counts of arson

And now I sit and I stare at a blank brick wall, Lookin' back on what I've done, To pass the time I've got some ten-cent cigars, And I smoke 'em one by one

I was drawing a blank and had found a possible second game to play so I spent an hour making a character only to find out the spot I was going for was taken by the GM while I was working. But stuff happens so I'm going to see how my new perspective works on our game.
That'll teach me to not join another game.

Posted. I want to write more but it stopped flowing. But I was able to flesh a few things out a little.

Works for me. I'm a little stuck for what to say. That nonsense about the future wasn't really any hints, it is more me offering the chance for a time-skip. I think that before anything else can happen Jon and this pathogen need to find some sort of way to communicate. And you said that would take... 29 hours? Feel free to initiate a time-skip whenever it feels appropriate. Otherwise things just drag.

I did a little bit of thinking on the story last night. Since Jon is able to influence the actions of his body on a genetic level, it seems to me that the only time the host would be able to make large changes is either with Jon's agreement, or when Jon is so mentally stressed that he cannot even control himself.

The reason I say that is because, when Jon and it try and fight their way across the red-line, I want there to be the potential for Jon to be fighting two wars at once, one outside his body, and one inside his body. It would just add interest. He'll stil be able to escape, it will just add some interest.

And, for the sake of conflict, we may need to speed up some of the genetic manipulations. Otherwise, things simply take too long for him to be able to transform to fight.

Sorry that your other character fell through. If you like it though, you should save it. You never know when another roleplay where it might work will pop up. Don't give up. Keep at it, and you'll find a place where you're welcomed. That is why you are here, so you can join as many roleplays as you can manage.

I should really take the time to join a couple more, as well. Most of mine have fallen through already.

Island. Manhattan. Red line. Escape. Flames. Explosions. Military. Flanking. Bombs. Blood. Rain. Run. Infection.
    .
These were taken from your post in the IC when Jon is seeing the image of Manhattan. And the immediate thoughts after. That is why I said he found them sort of familiar.
Are you sure you want to do that?

    Thanks.

Just in case you are curious, a faulty causality is when you assume that, because one event followed the other, the first must have caused the second.

Correlation does not mean causation - assuming you find correlation. I was a bit surprised to see you use the term but pleased.

Holidays and some illness in the family are enough of a distraction that it might be Wednesday before I can get my mind in Self's mind. I will try sooner but I haven't needed to be this diligent in a while that it is a challenge – a welcome one though. Enjoy the holidays you celebrate.

I never imagined Jon as particularly uneducated, and I always love when I can please a roleplay partner.

Feel better soon, should it be you who is ill, and have a wonderful holiday. I will be pleased to hear from you when I hear from you.

    Ah, building a vocabulary. Lol.
    .
Admittedly I was guessing as to Jon's emotional feelings during the utterance of the various words in the comversation he had with the consumed man. Especially with the word "want".
    .
    "Are you alright?"
"Not really, but who is these days?"
"Come on. We've got to get you to the base. The military will want to know how you survived out there for so long."
    "What are you doing?"
"I'm sorry, that it had to be such a kind man who came up to me."
    .
I decided to take what you did with Jon feeling Self's emotions and include that. I'm hinting (or trying to) that Self is somewhat blind to where the emotions are really coming from. That Self has unknowingly/unconsciously connected to Jon's emotional centers and is using them for itself - just in little bursts between Jon's usage but those bursts are expanding its range of emotions.
Yes, I realize this means they might eventually meld together or they might fight for sole use of the body.
Are you sure you want to do that?

And that is exactly what I was hoping for. As the story progresses, they become more and more of one entity, and as that happens they do fight more and more for sole use of the body. That is, until they finally both understand that, situations as they have become, neither can survive without the help of the other, and they finally manage to enter the ideal symbiotic relationship.

I think that "want" was a bit more of a deep desire, than... watchfulness? But, in the context self has, that would make sense.

I'll try and reply this evening, but I may not find time. But I want to reply, so that should be good motivation.

So, it's up to you if the military on the boat notice Jon.
Are you sure you want to do that?
