It seams there will be quite a few female characters in this game, a party with one sorceress and two Mord-Sith that is bound to make our War Wizard feel comfortable. :P I just can not wait for this RPG to start.

Will not that take extremely long given the complication that comes with a Wizard teaching a sorceress?

I'm pretty sure there was never an instance in the books of a wizard teaching a sorceress so who knows. Regardless, Elly isn't a sister or a wizard and she is open to any teacher.

As far as I know the difficulty a sorceress would have to teach a wizard would be the same the other way around as well. There might be a difference if the magic user to be taught already knows a bit but I do not think that is indicated in the books, it is more that it is gender difficulties that makes things take allot of time.

    Wasn't that because a sorceress's gift isn't as strong as a wizard's?
Either way, it isn't specified. So this is pretty much still speculation on our part. I guess Marrow would have to decide it since she/he is GM.

The GM is God in any RPG or in this case the Creator. The way I understood it there was some differences in how a sorceress and a wizard use their Han but it is up to Marrow, if it had just to do with how powerful they where would not then two sorceresses of different level of talent have a huge problem teaching one another, or wizards of various orders?

Kahlan guide me. Kahlan teach me. Kahlan protect me. In your light I thrive. In your mercy I am sheltered. In your wisdom I am humbled. I live only to love you. My life is yours.

    Name: Paleo Nsran

    Age: 25

    Gender: Male

    Appearance:

    1.8 Meters, 86 Kg.

    Class: War Wizard

    Side: D'hara, Wizards, Magic.

    Country of Origin: D’hara

Personality:Serious when he is in the eyes of officials or any members of royalty, Paleo is equally as playful and relaxed when he is alone or out on the town for a night. He has learned to adjust his emotions for the situation, deciding more about thinking out situations than letting the emotional side take control.

    History:
As a child, Paleo’s life was fairly unremarkable. He was born between a prior Sister of the Light and an unremarkable Wizard, so his gift was guaranteed. Raised without his gift know but under the watchful eyes of two magic users, there was always an overwhelming feeling inside him to do more, and to push beyond what he knew or was able. He was able to do remarkable feats as a child, like climbing cliffs and sparring with D’haran soldiers. Paleo’s familiarity with a blade only grew over the years.

As most wizards, Paleo did not know of his gifts until he neared maturity. When they began to show up it was found that he possessed both Additive and Subtractive magic. As a rare person, even in magic, he found himself being brought to Aydindril, where at the age of 12 he met Richard Rahl. Under his tutelage for less than half a year, the Lord Rahl taught the young boy very mature things; war, being a Seeker, the harmony of life and death, Additive and Subtractive magic, etc. Paleo learned few techniques from him, but still gathered much wisdom and knowledge for a child. He was sent home after only a few months with only a couple texts to learn from, but without headaches that would have taken him soon.

Now even three years later a small squadron was sent to his home with his parents. The Lord Rahl had died. As one of the few beings left that could use both kinds of magic, Paleo’s importance as a War Wizard was now thrust upon him. The captain of the guard brought an extra horse with their group, having been commanded to take the new war wizard to the Baka Tau Mana, where he would spend years training with a blade. He was given two parting gifts from the solders when they left him on the borders: a pair of pouches containing Sorcerer’s sand and a single book, called a journey book.

Through it, though he never meet the owner, he was taught a multitude of things that true wizards should know. Riddles and metaphors were used to teach him many of the Wizard’s Rules, but could never decipher all of them. A few prophecies that the teacher deemed would be important also found their way to him. Knowledge of artifacts, like Sorcerer’s sand and the dacra, were also passed on. Over time Paleo saw that he did have an important role, but one very different from being a Seeker of Truth. In essence, the young war wizard saw. In himself and the world around him, a need for balance, not dominance.

These lessons came in the evening, before he would rest. The daylight was saved for the Baka Tau Mana’s men to train him on warfare and combat, which they knew extensively. His D’haran spirit shone through in these trainings, unleashing the fierce energy he would gain from the calm nights of gathering knowledge. As an adult, when he was able to kill five of their elite fighters in battle without magic, he was deemed suitable enough to leave. When he finally left, Paleo gave himself the title of “nufandli ost vierc”, Guardian of Balance. It was a self-imposed title, meaning nothing to no one but giving the War Wizard a sense of purpose.

Although his heart longed to see his parents once more, Paleo knew that if there was to be qualms over who should rule D’hara’s Empire, the only War Wizard in existence should head to the center of the conflict. He now rides to the People’s Palace, hoping to be of use in resolving these issues.

Anything else: He hates prophecies. They only seem to bring about a victor and loser, never a balance. His blade, while Kelton made, is completely unremarkable besides the quality.

Male han and female han are different and are not made to directly interact. While Male is stronger, female is easier to use and control. The two don't mix well which is why the quillion or whatever it was called was used to turn male han into female, I'm fairly certain. Otherwise, there is no difference. Just not compatible. So teaching is harder because "knowledge" and the "feeling" of that specific type just isn't the same, making it more difficult than the same gender.
