Legends of the Shrine (SilverRain x HiddenBeauty13)

Sebastian smirked. "You make it sound as if you master is a mere object. I suppose that is to be expected of the lower standards of the Western Shrine. You are now in the territory of the Northern Shrine. We hold authority over y-" said Sebastian just before he was cut off by his Rhea-sama's invitation. When Sebastian looked back up again that Raine familiar was gone. Whilst Sebastian was no loner the demon who once rampaged through the lands killing all spirits who were below him, he still did not understand why Rhea-sama was being nice to them. Wasn't it better to just establish their rank? He knew how fickle humans could be, and rarely did negotiations ever work. There would always be one winner and one loser. And Sebastian wanted to establish themselves as the winner before anything started. It was the most efficient way.

Alexus was surprised when Raine appeared next to him and hugged him. It was rare to see this sort of affection from her. And... and her chest - it made him laugh bashfully and blush. "Hahah, yes, you got me. Good to see you too Raine" said Alexus as he remained in his familiar's arms, but straightened himself up. "Now what was it you wanted to talk about, God of the Northern Shrine"

Human negotiations... Sebastian sighed in his mind. He supposed that no matter what, he would always be here and support her. Even if it was in diplomatic duties. Sebastian reappeared at Rhea-sama's side, but didn't pay attention to the human one known as Alexus. Instead, whilst Alexus was not looking and from behind Rhea-sama, Sebastian made a funny face at Raine to provoke her.

Though interestingly, seeing that human in the arms of his familiar made Sebastian feel a bit jealous. He wanted someone in his arms too. Thus, Sebastian did the same and placed both his arms around his Rhea-sama, pulling her close to him from behind. "You're mine" whispered Sebastian into Rhea-sama's ear. He then looked at Alexus who was now looking oddly at the two. "Please do continue" said Sebastian.

Raine felt her cheeks flush a bit as she realized that she was still holding Alexus. Coughing, she removed her arms from around him and decided to sit behind him. She also saw Sebastian make a face when neither of their masters looking as she growled at him before falling silent as the humans began to talk.

A small shiver crawled up Rhea's spine as his arms suddenly wrapped around her and he whispered in her ear. Blushing, she swallowed and cleared her throat before relaxing and speaking. "Lately, we've been experiencing a little draw back with people coming to the shrine. We were discusing ways as to how to get them back." She frowned a bit. "We considered getting help from you two, but, aparantly Sebastian kind of, uh, messed that up a bit..." she said before falling silent. "So, now, I am asking for your help. How can we attract more people to our shrine?" Unlike her familiar, Rhea had no problem with asking others for help without being violent.

Alexus remained silent for a moment as he thought of how to reply. I know how you feel, even our numbers have been decreasing over time. But it's most likely only a temporary dip. It's unlike the other shrines. Rumours have it that the South shrine is now gone because it once granted prayers in regards to health. But with technology and the Internet nowadays, they have lost believers"

"But enough with worrying. We can send some of our clients your way. Heh, I think some of them got lazy and just decided to come to our shrine instead of walking up the stone steps (which used to be a way of showing devotion). Maybe if you have the funds, you can repair some of the steps? And you can always enter their dreams to show them that it is you who granted their wish. It's a bit selfish, but we have to do that for our survival." suggested Alexus.

"Just don't let that male demon enter dreams, lest he turn them into nightmares" added Alexus. This put Sebastian into a scowl.

Raine couldn't supress the smirk that came to her face when her master said that the trouble making demon would create nightmares. It was probably true, after all, since he had a habit of kidnapping people from their shrines and taking them away to their own shrine. But, hey, that was just her opinion.

Rhea shook her head. "Nah...He wouldn't do that..." she said but even she could hear the edge of doubt in her voice. Sometimes Sebastian could be a little harsh....but he still had some qualities of a good demon. "We'd really appreciate it if you do that; that is also a good idea with the steps. The only thing is that we're running a little low on dunds,.since our visitors have dwendled." The girl said with the frown. "We'll have to work on raising some money for the next month or so, then..."

"If you want, I can give you some tips on raising money." Raine stated with a smile. "I have to do it all the time for Alexus."

Sebastian was amazed when he heard Rhea-sama stand up for him. Sebastian smiled as he kept his arms around her. He liked how she saw the good side of him and for that he would continue displaying his good side. He wanted his Rhea-sama to be happy. The Tengu wondered what dreams his Rhea-sama had. Maybe one day he could enter them and see what those were. Sebastian returned his attention to the rest of the meeting and noticed Raine talking about tips to increase praying money. "It would be good to hear the tips" said Sebastian. He would do anything for his Rhea-sama and if needed he could command the other shrine spirits to help.

Alexus looked at Raine and nodded, meaning that it was okay to divulge the information.

Rhea was a tad bit surprised that Sebastian was going along with this but didn't question it; instead, she decided to listen. Any idea was welcomed. Raine nodded back before continuing to speak. "Well, one thing you could possibly do that will be very succesful is hosting a party. We've done it a couple of times and it's always brought on a lot of guests and their money of course." She added with a smirk.

This idea definately caught Rhea's attention. "Oh that's a wonderful idea! I can decorate the shrine and make food too!" The girl then looked back at her demon, a smile on her face. "Do you like that idea, Sebastian?"

"As long as you are okay with it Rhea-sama" replied Sebastian as he smiled and playfully touched her nose. Behind the smile was actually an emptyness that Sebastian didn't want to show (at least no in front of that other demon). Sebastian didn't actually know what the party would actually involve. He was after all, just a demon and he had mostly been kept hidden from the human world. Why did humans love parties so much? What was it that attracted them? Sebastian only knew of grand feasts that the gods would host and the bloodbaths of demons. This party that the human named Alexus mentioned. What was needed for it and how would it be conducted? Who were the special guests? All he knew was that there was going to be food and decorations. How does a party earn money? Sebastian couldn't comprehend at all.

Alexus focused on Sebastian's expression. "You seem a litle lost... demon" said Alexus in a bureacratic manner. After all, he was a shrine god and he reigned over demons. Mostly.

This earned a death glare from Sebastian. "I. Am. Not. Lost." hissed Sebastian through gritted teeth.

Rhea gently placed a hand on Sebastian's arm in a comforting manner. "Hey. Calm down. I'm sure he didn't mean it like that." She shot a quick glare at Alexus; Why provoke a demon who obviously had a few anger issues? The glare caused Raine to stiffen a bit but she shook it off eventually. She would've done the same thing if Rhea-sama had said that about Alexus. "Could you explain more about what we should have and do in a party?"

Raine glanced down at her master and gave him a look that said: 'do you wanna tell her'? She felt as if she was doing too much talking. The girl did request Alexus, not his demon...

"Hmph" went Sebastian as he calmed down. It was a soft order from his Rhea-sama, but it was also something he was willing to do. Sebastian was a demon who knew very little about the human world. He didn't his Rhea-sama to despise him and think of him as unworthy. He knew that his Rhea-sama was nice, but what if she secretly wanted a better familiar who knew about her world? Even if Sebastian was able to see into a human's memories, he could not understand their feelings mostly because he had the soul of a demon.

Alexus leaned back in a more comfortable, proud pose. "The purpose of the party is to increase awareness that your shrine actually exists. Those who know about it are now getting old. They no longer have the energy or need to come up here. Their children and grandchildren are now grown up, but they prefer the city life away from these mountains and meadows. They are starting to forget"

Sebastian cringed upon hearing this. He didn't want to fade away. He didn't want to become powerless and vanish. Rhea-sama was a human and she could live on, but Sebastian wanted to be here for her, to protect her. It would be dreadful if the humans forgot about them.

Alexus continued. "What you need to do is 'advertise' your shrine. I don't mean meaningless spam, but talking to the tabloids - both local and tourism ones. And a bit of publicity campaigns. If you know of someone famous, make their wishes come true for them so that they can help you spread the word. What Raine and I did was help a few local celebrities. Your party event is just to let the tabloids know what your shrine does - give them a tour and remind them of the magic. But of course, that is only my suggestion. It could be different for you"

Rhea grinned. "No, that's a brillant idea." She'd never thought to advertise her and Sebastian's shrine in a postive way like they suggested. "Do you think you guys could help us plan our party? I'm still not sure of all that we should do." She asked, a sheepish smile forming on her lips. If they were willing to help then she was willing to let them. Rhea wasn't sure if her demon would let them, though.

Raine nodded eagerly. "Oh, sure. We just got done with our latest party about a month ago and I've been a little bored lately." She said and smiled at her master playfully. "We even have a few left over props and stuff that you could use." She added then looked down at Alexus, silently asking him if it was alright to help the girl and her familar. The female demon silently hoped that he'd say yes; this could be another way to get fame for their own shrine, and for master to gain more friends.
