[Fairy Tale Dreamer]

The first day of the new school year was starting and it is a day where everyone is excited. Boys hope to find cute hot girlfriends to do stuff with and not feel like a total loser. Girl try to look their cutest with their nicely done hair, make up, and trying to bend the rules with their clothes. The students also hope that they get to sit next to their friends or a popular kid or hope that they get the super cute teacher in their class. But for one student all she worries about is getting hit by her father.

It was Kiki's first day of the new school year and she was trying to make breakfast in the kitchen that was filled with beer bottles in the corner of the room. "KIKI hurry up with my breakfast and don't forget my cold beer." Her father yelled in the other room while watching TV and finishing up the beer he has in his hand. "It is almost ready father." Kiki yelled back trying hard not twist her body for it was bruised from the last time she forgot to make her fathers breakfast. Her left hand was also bandaged up and she had a nasty bruise on her forehead.

One she was done cooking she got her fathers food nicely prepared and went to the fridge and made sure to grabbed the coldest beer in the fridge and made her way to the other room. "Father here is your breakfast." Kiki said as she set it down next to him and then watch him scarf down the food and gulp down the beer. As he was eating Kiki couldn't help but watch in disgust and her father didn't like the fact that she was staring at him with the same eyes as her mothers.

"Don't look at me with those eyes you brat." he yelled and three the plate at her and hit her hard. "Ow father I am sorry please forgive." Kiki yelled but it was to be late her got up and punched her across the face. "Get out of here or you will be late for school." he said as he went to the fridge and got another beer. As he was going that Kiki quickly grabbed her school bag and ran out the door once she was far enough away from her home she touched her cheek where she was punch and wince and then sighed. "Looks like I am going to have another bruise better think of a good excuse now." Kiki said as she pulled her emergency breakfast bar from her bag and ate it as she walked to her new school in this very new town that she had moved into a few weeks ago.

Mike sighed as he got up and winced as he got out of bed, his side bruised form his last night beating. He was glad that school was almost starting so he wouldn't have to face his mom when she got up. He went and got showered and shaved before going downstairs quietly so as not to wake her. He grabbed a leftover piece of pizza and his backpack and ran out the door, glad to be out of the house he started walking to school while eating his pizza. He winced slightly as he bumped into a mailbox and he probably had another bruised rib.

Kiki finished eating her emergency breakfast bar and threw the trash in her bag for now as she walked to the school. Even though she was new as much as she could Kiki tried to explore the town so she knew where the school was and the closes liquor store was so her dad would know and not break her arm for not looking for one. She could not risk being sent back to the hospital namely after she just got out a couple nights ago after handing her hand and arm stitched up from landing in broken glass after she had gotten punched for dinner taking so long. "man these beatings are getting worst and he is drinking more I better stay on my toes more often never know what dad might do next." Kiki said quietly as she kept walking wondering what her new school was going to be like.

Mike finished eating his pizza just as he walked through the gate to get into the school, as usual there was barely anybody there when he got there cause he got there early, but he wasn't going to stay home and risked getting hit again just so he would get to school with everybody else. He went over to one of the planters where him and his friends hung out and laid down on it. He put in his headphones and turned the volume all the way up, he had little rituals he did to block out the pain and this was the one that worked the most.

Kiki walked through the gates a little while noticing that she was early for once. "Wow I am early well I guess that is a good thing cus now I can try to find the main office and my locker." She said as she walked in and started walking around trying to figure out where everything is so she wouldn't be to lost. "Man this place is bigger then I thought it was going to be this is going to take forever to try to figure out where everything thing is." Kiki said as she kept going not really paying attention where she was going and started to walk where Mike was laying and accidentally trips over him and collided with that ground hard. "Ow what did I trip over." She said as she turned to see that she tripped over a guy and quickly scurried away. "I am so sorry I was not watching where I was going I was just trying to figure out where the main office was I am so sorry" She said freaking out that she actually tripped over someone.

Mike listened to his music and didn't hear Kiki, walking. He sat up quickly when he felt someone trip over him and winced slightly as his side started hurting him from where they had kicked one of his bruised ribs, "What the..." he said trailing off as he saw Kiki lying on the ground. He pulled out his earphones and put his iPod back in his pocket, "No it's fine. Are you ok at least." he said holding out his hand to help her up and using the other on to hold his side. "The main office is right there, and don't worry about it I shouldn't have been lying down." he said pointing at the main office so she would no where to go before placing the hand back on his side.

Kiki flinched she he held his hand out to her thinking he was going to hit her for tripping but then realized that he was offer to help her up and hesitantly took his hand and got up. "I am still very sorry I must have really hurt you after tripping over you and it is my fault I should have been paying attention to where I was going." She said still freaking and noticed him holding his side. "Oh no I did hurt you I am so so sorry I didn't mean it." Kiki said feeling bad about that even though she also looked bad and had bruises visible on her face along with her bandaged hand that hand stitches under them after landing in broken glass after being shoved hard. "um thanks for telling me where the main office is and sorry again." She said as she walked to the main office so she can get her stuff together.

Mike helped her up easily and tried to say something but couldn't before she walked off towards the main office. He had noticed the bruises on her face and hoped she hadn't gotten them from tripping over him. He sat down cause it made his side hurt less and looked up as his friends walked over to him. "Hey guys, what took you so long." he said looking over there heads towards the main office, to see if he could still see Kiki. He sighed and went back to his conversation with his friends removing his hand from his side and wincing slightly, his friends hadn't seemed to notice and he was glad for that as he stood up in somewhat pain. "Sorry your car broke down dude." he said slapping his friend on the back. He went and hung out with them till he heard the bell ring and walked to his first class, he hated government but it was a requirement for the school.

The teacher waited till everyone was seated before starting class. "Now students we have a new student to the school starting today so she doesn't know much of the school so I would like everyone to make her feel welcome now everyone please say hello to Kiki Jennings." The teacher said as the same girl that tripped over Mike walked into the classroom while everyone snickered at how she looked. "Where did she come from the dump." A jock said and everyone laughed but Kiki just looked at the ground. "Yeah it looked like she got her clothes from the trash." A girl said and everyone kept laughing until the teacher slapped a ruler on the desk. "Students we treat others with respect and kindness and she is no different no be quiet Kiki you make sit anywhere you want." The teacher said and all Kiki did was nodded her head and made her way to the back of the classroom and sat in the desk in the corner.

Mike was lying on his desk and jumped up when he heard the teacher smack a ruler against the desk. He looked up to see the girl that had tripped over him walking into class and sit on the far side. He looked at her from the other side of the class and for the first time noticed that her jeans had hols in them and were patched in some places. He looked up as the teacher walked over to him, "Is there a problem, Mr. Hannigan." she said glaring at him. Mike just looked up, "No, no problem just waiting for you to start teaching." he said sarcastically making some kids around him snicker. The teacher didn't seem to notice and walked to the front of the class, Mike smiled and laid his head back down as the teacher started talking. He always slept first period cause he could never really sleep at home always afraid his mom would walk in and hit him for trying to sleep or something.
